Pretty In Pink

At Sparkle N Sprinkle this week the contest is to make a card for a remarkable woman in your life. There are several, so I thought of them for Mother's Day and made this card. I used the Sparkle N Sprinkle rose and saying  from  My Rose Garden set. I stamped the rose twice in white and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the roses with inks and a water brush. I cut up one of the roses to layer on top of the other to give dimension. I used a Sizzix rose frame die, a heart Nellie's die and a Quik Kutz frame die that I cut apart to make the swirls. You can see the challenge here http://sparklensprinkle.com/blog/   May you have a blessed day.

Art Lenz Cards

Yesterday my local stamp club had a wonderful time in an Art Lenz class. We made three great cards using their special Art Lenz that make your stamp images look 3-D and pop in and out.  This technique is unique and fun. You can check out their site here and see instructions on how to use their products. http://www.artlenz.com/Examples/index.html.  Here are the three cards I made. I really enjoyed learning how to do these. These pictures don't do the Art lenz justice, but I hope you can see a little of what the lenz does. Thanks to Gail for all her hard work in getting all the products to us and teaching us such a fun technique!

Simon Says Show a Word

We have a beautiful , sunny , warm day today! I will need to get outside for awhile. I hope you are having a good day! At Simon Says Stamp the challenge this week is Show a Word. The word I chose was Mother since Mother's Day is not too far away. I used the beautiful DCWV paper for my background. The lady stamp is from   Inkadinkado. I added a rose flower to embellish her hat. I used Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps to stamp around the word "Mother". The red frame was made by using a Martha Stewart border punch. Who's Got the Button?

It's a new week at Cuttlebug Spot and the new challenge is buttons, buttons everywhere. Mother's Day is a ways away, but this challenge lent itself to Mother's Day so I made a Mother's Day card. I went wild with the cuttlebug paisley folder and used it on the base card, the blue paper and the tag! The tag is also a cuttlebug die. I really enjoyed this challenge and looking through all my pretty buttons! You can see the challenge by clicking here -- http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

Pink and Green

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. It is warm and windy here today. I am glad Spring is here! I am entering this card in two challenges -- Joan's Garden and Cat's Pajamas. This cute poodle is from Cat's Pajamas. I love using him. I used pink glitter for his fur. Pink and green are the colors we need to use for Joan"s Garden challenge. They are so pretty for Spring.

Sew Cute Tilda

I won a Tilda stamp with this card in the Winterfest challenges over at Two Peas in a Bucket! Whoo-hoo! The challenge was Sew Cute. We had to make a card that was cute and sew on it. I sewed Tilda's hair on this card and added a braid.. If you only knew how I hate to sew -- this was a real challenge for me!  I love these stamps by Magnolia and I am happy to be adding another one to my small collection! Stop by the Winterfest challenge board to see all the entries. .http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=list&forum_id=22

House Mouse Spring Card

This week at House Mouse the challenge is to make a Spring project. I had this cute House Mouse stamp. Don't you love the one drinking the rain? This fits my day here. It has been raining off and on all day! I used blue raindrop stickers for the rain. I used Crystal Lacquer on the umbrellas to enhance them more. For embellishment I made a little umbrella and filled it with blue flowers. This challenge was fun. You can see the challenge by clicking here -- http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/

Orange and Blue

This is another challenge that I have been working on today. This is for Joan's Gardens Orange and Blue challenge. We are also to use a die cut and circle on our card and it needs to be a Spring card too.  You can see the challenge by clicking here -- http://joanscreations.blogspot.com/

Oh So Charmed

At the Cuttlebug Spot this week the challenge is Oh So Charmed. We are to use charms on our project. I love using charms and have not used them in awhile. I was happy to do this challenge! I used K&Co. paper and cuttled it with the paisley embossing folder and highlighted the embossed areas with a darker Teal ink. I used the Spellbinders Beaded Oval die and stamped the Romantic Portrait image from Hero Arts on it. I used part of a
gold chain and tapped alcohol inks on it to antique to use as the lady's necklace. I also added a flower charm to the lace bow for embellishment. Check out the challenge here -- http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

Show Some Metal

At Simon Says Stamp and Show this week for the challenge is to show some metal. I haven't worked with copper mesh in a long time, but I love the look. My flower and dragonflies on this card were made by heating copper mesh with a heat gun and using outline stickers on it and then cutting them out. The background on my card was made by stamping the writing background stamp in black and embossing with clear embossing powder. I then brushed several colors of Brilliance ink over this and wiped off the excess ink. I stamped swirls on the right and top of the card. Joan's Gardens -- Second Challenge

This is my second challenge entry at Joan's Gardens. It is such a dreary, cold and rainy day here, so this card has cheered me up a bit! We are to use Just Rite stamps so I have used my bird house again from the Bird houses set. This time I also used the frame from the Kindness set and a saying from an oval saying set! I stamped with Brilliance Sky Blue ink onto vellum and then embossed the swirls on the frame from behind with my embossing tool. I colored the bird house using colored pencils and Gamsol.  The border frame was made by a using Martha  Stewart Punch. I have really enjoyed doing this challenge. You can click here to see the challenge.

Spring Is In The Air

Even though it is raining outside and gloomy, Spring is on it's way! I have been working on two challenges today. This second one is for the JustRite 050 challenge. We are to make a Spring or birthday card and also make a matching envelope or gift package. I used the JustRite Bird Houses set. I just purchased this set and I love it! I colored the bird houses with re-inkers and a water color pen.  I used the sizzix Fleur de Lis die and a Nellie's circle die. The paper is from K&Co. I had to make my own envelope template to make it thick enough for my card. I used the Nellie die again for a window and backed the window with a piece of acetate. The strip holding the envelope together was made by using a Martha Stewart punch.  You can see the challenge by clicking here

Waltzing Mouse Sketch #37

I am working on some challenges today. This one is for Waltzing Mouse Sketch  #37.  You can see it here
http://waltzingmousesketchchallenge.blogspot.com/. I used Waltzing Mouse Bountiful Baskets stamps for a birthday card. The frame is a sizzix frame and the paper is DCWV. I love the yellow and blue colors together. It is rainy outside today, but I am keeping my spirits up by making Spring cards! Hope the sun comes out soon.

Pins -- Ouch!!

I woke up to a cloudy day with promise of rain, but we need it for all these beautiful trees and plants that are sprouting! The trees here have just been gorgeous! The challenges this month at Cuttlebug Spot are using embellishments and this week we are to use pins on our project! I made these 2 pins for my card. I have had these beads for a long time and I am glad to put them to good use. I cuttled the background DCWV decorative paper with the flower folder and enhanced them with a darker yellow color ink. I stamped and cut out the bunny and pop-dotted the sizzix die frame. Please click here to see the challenge -- http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

Ephemera

The challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week was a real challenge for me. The theme is Ephemera which means " a class of collectible items not meant to last a long time." I enjoy seeing these type cards, but I have never been able to master the look. Here is my first attempt! You can see the challenge here -- http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/
