A Butterfly Hello

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made today using some metals and background stamps.

The butterfly was made by heating copper mesh with a heat gun to give it various colors. I then adhered a gold outline butterfly sticker to the copper mesh and fussy cut it. The "hello" is a metal charm that I colored with a teal Sharpie marker. I used Distress ink to dye my ribbon to match.

I made the background by using two Impression Obsession Cover A Card stamps -- Butterflies CC061 and Textural Dots CC016. I stamped these on some light patterned paper. Here is a close up to see the background better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Joy Faith Hope

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I want to show you a tag I made following a few of Tim Holtz's techniques. You can see them by clicking here. For the tree I used an embossing folder, brayered flesh colored acrylic ink over the raised areas, and applied Tim Holtz Walnut stain over the top. I wiped off the excess stain and the paint acted as a resist. I tore around the knot in the tree and added it to the tag.

I used one of the butterfly dies from Tim Holtz's Butterfly Duo dies. I did not have the grout so I used some white matte embossing paste on the butterfly. I then glued on the paper mosaic pieces and used Diamond Glaze over them so that they would look like tiles. I then sponged Gathered Twigs Distress ink in the "grout" spaces. Here is a close up of the butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Altered Dies #8

Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day. I am back with another altered die card. I altered two dies for this card to make a boat, clouds and waves.

For the boat I started with the Spellbinders labels 9 die and cut from wood grain patterned paper.

I cut the die in half to make my boat.

Next I used the Spellbinders Labels 20 die and cut from navy polka dot patterned paper.

I also cut these in half to make the waves. As I layered these on the card, some hung over the edges. I cut off the edges and used the left overs for clouds.

To make the waves and clouds stand out more, I inked the edges with Distress Faded Jeans ink. I also used Memento Rich Cocoa ink on the edges of the boat. These cute cats from Sparkle N Sprinkle fit perfectly in my boat! I used Elephant Gray and Amber Wheat flocking on the cats' spots. Sparkle N Sprinkle Brown Fizz embossing powder was used on the decorative border on the boat.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the altered die card today. I trust your day will be a wonderful one!

Bird and Flower

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made using the Just for Fun Zentangle bird. I stamped the bird on an inked background and fussy cut it to add to the card. I used the Delightful Peony dies from Memory Box to cut the flower from another inked background and then I cut from black card stock for the overlay. I died some seam binding for my ribbon and bow using Distress inks. The ribbon was woven through the Maryanne Lace Ribbon Border die at the top.

On the background I also used The Small Window die from Cheery Lynn. Here is a close up to see it better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Altered Dies #7

I am back again with another altered die card. I have had so much fun with these altered dies. I hope you enjoy what I have done with my dies today. April is the month of rain so I have made a fun "rain" card with this cute duck from Rubber Stampede.

I wanted some raindrops on my card so I used this Spellbinders butterfly die that I cut from blue glitter card stock and kept the small cut outs for my raindrops!

Next I used one of Gina Marie's Stitched Circle dies to make the umbrella.

I cut the circle in half and used some decorative scissors on the bottom of one of the halves.

I scored the middle of the umbrella so that it would pop up a little and added some Stickles Crystal glitter to the raindrops for more sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Have a Very Mice Day!

Happy April Fool's Day! I hope you won't get fooled too much today. I want to share a card I made using acetate. I always love to see cards made with acetate but I have not made many myself. I enjoyed very much making this card! Here is the card when it is closed.

I embossed the acetate using a Sizzix frame embossing folder. I stamped the mouse image onto white card stock and cut him out using the Gina Marie stitched circle die. The mouse was colored using Spectrum Noir markers. I added Sparkle translucent embossing powder ( courtesy of Sparkle N Sprinkle ) on the pink flower. The lace corners are from Cheery Lynn and the butterflies are from Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die.

Here is the card slightly opened so that you can see the acetate front better.

This is the inside of the card. I used light teal card stock and placed a sea grass stencil from Tattered Angels over it and sprayed Dragonfly Glimmer Mist over it. The saying I had was long, but I needed to fit it on the circle, so I inked the saying half way and stamped it on top and then inked the stamped on the other half of the saying and stamped it underneath.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a very MICE day! LOL!
