House Mouse Christmas

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope you are enjoying this busy season! I want to show you a Christmas card I made using this cute little House Mouse stamp. I had fun making this card because I got to use some new products!

I actually used 2 stamps for my image. I started off with this new to me stamp and paper pieced the cup with  the green plaid paper.

I also used this stamp, colored the hat, fussy cut the hat and added it to the mouse in the cup.

Next I fussy cut the whole image and adhered it to my red plaid background. I just received this new paper in a magazine and I love the plaid! I also got to use my new greenery die from Gina Marie and added it below the new window die also from Gina Marie. I splattered diluted Gesso over the greenery to look like snow.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season. Well, this is my last altered die card! I must say that this has opened up a whole new way of looking at my dies. On this card I used part of a window die for the angels wings!

I started with the Spellbinders Decorative Window Scene die and cut using white glitter card stock.

I cut the window apart and used the 2 bottom pieces for the wings.

I cut Spellbinders Labels 4 from green patterned card stock and adhered the angel on top.

I stamped and embossed with black embossing powder onto the red and green patterned papers using the Just For Fun Stamptangle Christmas Trees. I fussy cut them and adhered them to the background. I added small pearls to look like falling snow. That is all there is to it!

Christmas Tag

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I know a lot of us are very busy with Christmas shopping, wrapping presents, parties and such. I want to show you a tag I made today using 2 of Tim Holtz's techniques that you can see here.

I cut a piece of burlap and used Tim Holtz's snowflake stencil over it. I sprayed on color using Fired Brick Distress spray. I then adhered the burlap piece to the tag. I used Tim Holtz's letterpress system for the word "happiness,"  as seen above. I flicked white gesso over green card stock and punched out the evergreen leaves and added the paper poinsettia. The green plaid strip at the top is a piece of washi tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Hi Everyone! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well, it has for quite awhile in the stores! Do you have your Christmas decorations up yet? Mine are going up soon! I want to show you a Christmas card I made using the Just For Fun Stamptangle Christmas Tree and Gift Cube stamps.

I like making non traditional colored Christmas cards at times. I started with blue card stock and flicked white Gesso over the card with a paint brush. I wanted to use acrylic paint, but I did not have any white. I like the texture that the Gesso gave. The tree was stamped with Versa Mark ink onto a marbled background I had in my stash. White embossing powder was added and heat set. I did the same for the gifts and stamped on purple card stock. All the images were fussy cut and adhered to the background. I then added some white rhinestones and a bow.

Please join in the new challenge over at the Just For Fun blog! We would love to see your creations and you might even win a prize!

This month we are making it easy since we have 2 themes to choose from - Christmas and all it entails or Winter.  The choice is yours!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the Christmas season!

Altered Dies #23

Hi Everyone! I can't believe the Christmas season is upon us! This year just flew by. I want to show you another altered die card I made into a Christmas card. I am showing this a day early because my Just For Fun card is going up tomorrow. This cardinal by Inkadinkado is one of my all favorite Christmas stamps. The image was cut using the Gina Marie stitched circle die.

I started with the Tim Holtz Woodlands dies by Sizzix.

I cut 10 trees and then cut the bottoms off of each one.

I then arranged these bottom pieces in a circle to form the wreath!

I had all these little "trees" left so I decided to make another Christmas card with them while I had everything out on my desk.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope this has inspired you to create some wreaths of your own. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Fall Is Still Here!

Hi Everyone! Even though we have just had Thanksgiving, I want to show you a Thanksgiving card I made. It seems like Fall has been so short this year because Summer just wouldn't let go! I love the Fall season and I just don't want to let go! LOL!

The new Fall stamptangle pumpkins at Just For Fun have been some of my favorite stamps. I stamped this medium Stamptangle Pumpkin onto rust card stock using versa mark ink. I added a darker rust embossing powder and heat set it and fussy cut the image. I used a new leaf stencil and sponged over it with various Fall colors of Distress inks to make my background. I cut a fence from brown card stock using an Impression Obsession fence die.

I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. Have a great day!

Remember, you still have some time to join in on the challenge for this month. You can see the details here and you might even win a prize!

Altered Dies #22

Hi Everyone! Are you ready for Thanksgiving? This card might put you in the spirit! Humor got the best of me with this quirky turkey! The saying is computer generated.

I don't really have any turkey stamps except for one small one. I really need to look at buying a few, so I made this fun turkey using a die and a chicken stamp by Sparkle N Sprinkle!

I started off  by cutting with the Cheery Lynn Mega Italian Flourish die. I cut from a background I had made a long time ago with alcohol inks.

The die was a little larger than the background, but I knew I would be cutting off some of the bottom anyway. I then cut between the scallops and this became the turkey's tail feathers!

The "turkey" is a chicken stamp courtesy of Sparkle N Sprinkle. I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut him and pop dotted him on top of  the "feathers."

I hope you enjoyed my altered die card today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Elegant Gourds

Hi and welcome to my blog. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching! Can you believe it? I don't know where this year has gone. I want to show you a Thanksgiving card I made with the new Just For Fun Stamptangle Gourds and Stamptangle Tall Pumpkin.  I have been having fun using these stamptangle stamps! I stamped these stamps on various fall colors of card stack with versa mark ink. I used gold embossing powder on each one, fussy cut them and layered them on top of each other. I cut a frame from gold metallic card stock using the Spellbinders Labels 8 and Decorative Labels 8 dies. On the green card base I used  the Long Script stamp to add interest.

We are having a fun challenge this month at Just For fun Stamps and we would love for you to join in. You might even win a prize! You can see the details here.

Fall Tag

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am so glad to be having cooler weather and seeing some color on the trees now. I want to show you a Fall tag I made using several of Tim Holtz's techniques. You can see them by clicking here.

First I used some of Tim Holtz's rub ons on my card -- a script and some swirls.
Then I patted Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves and Tea Dye Distress inks on my craft pad, spritzed them with water and drug my tag through the inks to make my background. I sponged some Gathered Twigs Distress inks around the tag for more of a distressed look.

I stamped the pumpkin stack, by Sparkle N Sprinkle, onto watercolor paper and colored the pumpkins using Distress markers and my water pen. The image was fussy cut and pop dotted to the tag. I added leaf brads and sequins for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Altered Dies #21

Hi! I am back again with another altered die card. It has been a fun year seeing how I can use my dies in different ways than normal. I have three more to show and the year will be over! Boy has it gone fast!

For this card I started with this wreath die by Spellbinders.

I then cut it apart and used the parts like branches. These are the "branches" over the window. I also cut another piece off the die for the birds to perch on.

I used a Sizzix brick embossing folder and sanded it to make the card look like the outside of a house. I used patterned paper behind the window to look like wallpaper inside the "house." I stamped, colored and fussy cut the birds and tea kettle that is sitting inside on the "windowsill." The window die is the Decorative Window Scene die from Spellbinders. Wouldn't it be nice to have a spot of tea on a cold Fall morning?

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Bright Pumpkin

Hi Everyone! Happy November! I am loving the beautiful new stamptangle pumpkins from  Just For Fun. I decided to make this Stamptangle Tall Pumpkin pop with color by using my Zig watercolor markers. The pumpkin was embossed using black embossing powder and then colored. I used the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die behind the pumpkin. I added white enamel dots down one side of the pumpkin for accent. I pop dotted the pumpkin onto an embossed dotted swiss purple background.

I hope you are enjoying the newly released stamps as much as I am. We would love for you to join the new challenge for this month at Just For Fun. You might even win a prize! Please click here to see the challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Spooky Scarecrow

Hi! I hope you are about ready for Halloween! I remember how much I anticipated Halloween when I was a child. One of my favorite costumes was Casper. Do you remember the friendly ghost? I also remember my last costume when I was 12 years old. My friend and I wore her parents' clowns outfits. I was taking my neighbor around with us also, who was about 8 years old at the time. We were in a very dark yard and we could not see at all! We got our candy and ran from the porch at full speed with me holding my neighbor's hand. It was so dark that we did not see the very big ditch ahead and fell right into it. Thankfully we were not hurt and we just lay there laughing so hard we could not get up. Those were fun times!

Here is another Halloween card I made using the new stamps from Just For Fun. I just love this Spooky Scarecrow.

I used the 3 + 1 Faux Post stamp and template and sponged purple, yellow and blue Distress inks through the template. The blue turned to a hazy green when blended which is what I wanted for a spooky night scene! I stamped and colored the scarecrow with my Zig watercolor pens, fussy cut the image and popped it to the card. I stamped the Crooked Old Tree through the stencil and stamped and embossed the Tiny Black Kat stamp using sparkly black embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Haunting!

Altered Dies #20

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have another altered die card to show you today. I made a fairy using a Cheery Lynn butterfly die for her wings!

I started with the butterfly die and cut off the antennas.

I patted my Versa Mark ink pad over the butterfly and added Sparkle N Sprinkle Glisten embossing powder to it and heat set it. Then I adhered the girl image to the die.

Here is a picture of the fairy that shows the sparkle better.

The background was made by inking up the negative flower stamp with Bundled Sage Distress ink then making streaks across the stamp using teal and brown markers then stamping it on cream card stock.

The first butterfly I cut did not cut out all the little pieces so I cut another one. I then had the negative of the 2 butterflies left. Not wanting to throw away that piece I placed washi tape behind them and made a quick card! Here is the result.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Halloween Tag

Hi Everyone! It is time for making another tag for Tim Holtz's tag challenge! Each month he is combining 2 techniques from the past to use on the tag. You can see this month's techniques here.

I cut up a sheet of  Tim Holtz's Halloween patterned paper from the Seasonal pad and made a collage with them. I applied clear crackle paint over the entire tag and let it dry. I took a black watercolor crayon and smudged it around the seams and edges of the tag.

I used a cuttlebug pumpkin die and cut from bronze metal. I then ran the pumpkin through a polka dot embossing folder and colored the dots using a black Sharpie pen.

The spider web is an svg that I added to the upper corner of the tag. I also adhered some confetti bats to the tag. The saying is a stamp from Just For Fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Halloween Greetings

Hi Everyone! I want to show you a card I made with the new Crooked Old Tree and Tiny Black Cat stamps from Just For Fun. I do not make many Halloween cards but I have certainly had fun making cards with these new stamps!

I started with striped patterned paper for the background. I punched the "moon" from another piece of patterned paper and stamped the saying from the Just for Fun Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet. The tree and cat were stamped with black ink. I then added small punched leaves to the tree and ground.

Just For Fun has a fun challenge going on this month. We would love to see you participate and you might even win a prize! You can check it out here.

I hope you are enjoying the Fall season as much as I am. This is my favorite time of the year!

Altered Dies #19

Hi Everyone. I hope you are enjoying your day. I have another altered die card to show you. I love using die shapes on my cards and here is an easy way to dress them up a bit. I started with the Crisscross Spellbinders background die, adhered it over green card stock and cut it out all at once using the Sizzix Fancy Labels die. Now I have a fancy look to my shape!

Step 1.

Step 2.

Here is the card!

Happy Hauntings

Hi and welcome to my blog! First I want to say how thrilled I am to have been chosen to be on the Just For Fun design team! I have had so much fun playing with my new stamps. I can't believe that Halloween will be here soon. Many of the stores have had Halloween items out since July! I have made a Halloween card using two of the new Just For Fun stamps.

On this card I used the Just For Fun large Spooky Scarecrow and the Crooked Iron Fence stamps.
I colored the scarecrow using my Zig watercolor pens, fussy cut the image and pop dotted it to the card. I stamped the fence using versa mark ink and added black embossing powder to make it look like wrought iron. I added three confetti bats flying across the "moon."

I had a fun time using my new small round geli plate to make the background. I patted distress ink pads in yellow, blue, purple and black directly onto the geli plate. I spritzed the inks with water and placed the card stock on top and pressed gently with my hand. This gave a moon like image to the card! I then went back in and sponged black ink around the "moon."

This month we have a new inspiration challenge on the Just For Fun blog. We would love to have you enter the challenge and you will even be eligible for a prize! Click here to check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Flutterbys

Hi and welcome to my blog. We are still having summer here, how about you? So I made this card using butterfly stamps from Altenew. My inspiration for this card came from this picture on the Altenew challenge blog.

I used the Spellbinders Labels 50 to cut out the shape and then used various washi tapes behind it. I stamped Altenew butterflies around the card. I chose the colors and the washi tape from the inspiration photo to make my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Altered Dies #18

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am showing another altered die card today. When I was making this card I wanted it to have a vintage look. I had an awful time finding patterned paper to go behind my image. Have you ever had one of those days? I even had some friends over who were helping me find the patterned paper that looked right. We found one, then I decided that sepia looked better on the image instead of black so that trashed my patterned paper idea I had, because the sepia color did not go with the paper. Do you remember the show What Not to Wear? I remember them saying on that show that as long as something goes it is fine to wear it. You don't have to be matchy matchy! So that is my philosophy on this card. My patterned paper goes! LOL!

I started with the Flower Bramble die by Cricut and cut using cream card stock.

I adhered it to pink card stock and cut out an oval using Spellbinders small ovals die in the middle to give the card a different look.

I decided that the card looked too large so I cut it down some. I added the patterned paper behind the oval and pop dotted the image on top. Now the card looks more like a frame instead of just adding something on top of the background. I also added teal butterflies that were cut out using Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

A Fallen Leaf

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am really wanting Fall to hurry and get here! It has been in the 90's here most of the week! I love Fall with all its colors and smells. I love the beautiful colors of the leaves on the trees especially. I guess this comes from growing up on the prairie in Texas and not seeing tree leaves turn colors. My mother recalled that when I was around 5 years old we traveled somewhere in the Fall where the leaves were turning colors. I yelled out - "look, the trees are blooming!" So, I have made a card using this neat tree from Just For Fun Stamps. I used a background I made awhile back where I patted Distress inks on my mat, spritzed the inks with water and smooshed glossy card stock through the inks. I used my clear Wink of Stella pen over the paper leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have wonderful and blessed day!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - Septmeber

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a tag I made for Tim Holtz's challenge this month. We were to start with a patina background. I used two metallic colors of acrylic paint - gold and purple, and some regular pink. I also spritzed water on them that had some White Glimmer Mist in it to give the whole piece some shine.

We were to use the alcohol resist technique here, and I used the trees stamp from Inkadinkado. I also had fun playing with the alcohol inks a bit at the top and bottom of the tag. I must say I really like using the alcohol inks on Yupo paper!

Here is the whole tag!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a great day!
