Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. My card today was inspired by this wonderful picture over at Altenew.

I used the Vintage Flower Altenew stamp set and did a lot of
masking and fussy cutting to make my card. The saying is from the Altenew Build A Rose stamp set.

I used some watercolors to swipe greens and blues across the card. To make the pot I used the Spellbinders Birdcage 1 die! I altered it to make it look like a pot. A dotted swiss cuttlebug embossing folder was used in the upper corner to add interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Patterned Paper #12

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am showing another way to use  patterned papers on my card today. I have had such fun finding many ways to use up my scrap papers!

I used three sizes of punches and punched circles for the flowers. I used a distress tool to distress the edges of each circle. Each one was layered and then I used enamel dots for the centers of the flowers. I drew stems and free cut some leaves to add to them. The saying is from Stampendous. The background was an old background where I had used some border embossing folders on it. The edges of the background were sponged using Gathered Twigs Distress ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Lazy River

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made with this cute little House Mouse paddling down the Lazy River. With the summer heat this is a good way to cool off!

I found a background in my stash that I had made with Distress Oxide inks. It looks like a waterfall is behind the mouse. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the mouse and pop dotted him to the card. I used an exacto knife to cut around some of the flower petals so that I could pop them up. The frame is a Memory Box die. I added little paper flowers to the tree frame and used pink Liquid Pearls for the centers. The image was colored using alcohol markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Keep cool and have a mice day!                                                                                                     ðŸ˜‰

The Voice Of The Sea

Hi Everyone! Today I am showing a card I made that follows the Just For Fun Stamps challenge theme for this month of using a stencil. You still have time to join in. We would love to see what you create!

I love playing with stencils. There are so many fun ways to use them. On this card I used blue and purple watercolor crayons and colored directly on the back of the stencil. I spritzed the colors with water and placed the colored side down on a piece of watercolor paper, then gently lifted it off. I stamped the saying at the bottom, then stamped the Stamptangle Seahorse on a piece of orange card stock, fussy cut it and adhered it to the card. Sequins were added for interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Patterned Paper #11

Hi Everyone! I am showing another patterend paper card today in my ongoing series. I showed a collage background card in April where I tore pieces of paper for the background. This time I used the paper scraps a little differently.

First I covered a 12 x 12 piece of card stock with my smaller scrap pieces and made a paper collage.

Next I cut this into card fronts. As you can see, I used some blue scraps as well on another 12 x 12 piece of card stock. I made 3 12 x 12 collages and believe me, I did not even make a dent in my scraps! I DO have a lot of card fronts now, though.

Here is one of the card fronts I chose to make the card below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope your day will be enjoyable!

Just For Fun June Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. As a design team member for Just For Fun Stamps I am hosting this month's challenge to use a stencil! I love working with stencils because there are so many ways to use them on a project. For example you can sponge through them, use stencil pastes, stamp through them, use them with the gelli plates and so much more! I would love to see what you do with them.

I must say when I use this '57 Chevy stamp I always think of my dad. I remember the long trips we took each summer in his '56 Chevy to go visit my grandparents. We also traveled Route 66 for awhile on the way!

I made a retro background by rotating a stencil. The picture below shows the original look of the stencil.

First I sponged on Wild Honey Distress ink.

Then I turned the stencil a one quarter turn and sponged using Aged Mahogany Distress ink.

This is such a fun way to use a stencil. You never know what look you will get. I then used the Spellbinders Labels 4 die to cut out a shape from this piece.

I stamped the Open Highway background stamp and cut and colored the Route 66 sign and pop dotted it to the card.

I also stamped the City Skyline stamp behind the shape.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that you will join in this challenge and let us see all the creative ways you use a stencil!

Have a wonderful day!
