Handmade Background #4

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I want to share another card I made using one of my backgrounds in my stash.

I started with a piece of white glossy card stock and sponged purple, brown and gray Distress inks all over it. I ran the inked card stock through the Sizzix gears embossing folder making sure the debossed side was showing on the front of the card stock. The debossed side has more area to sand which I sanded with a sanding block. The sanding makes the colors pop. I used the Spellbinders small oval die to cut out the image (unknown). Purple cord was used to add interest.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you will have fun trying this technique.

Have a wonderful day!

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like minded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

Catty Birthday

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am forever needing birthday cards, so I want to show you a birthday card I made using this fun Penny Black cat stamp that a good stamping friend let me use. I stamped several of these images to have on hand.

I colored the image using alcohol markers. I added white Liquid Applique to the sundae and glitter glue to the cupcake. The image was cut out using the Spellbinders small circle die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Handmade Background #3

Hi and welcome to my blog! Today I am showing another card using a handmade background from my stash.

We all have those days when life throws you a curve ball. I love this stamped image that I found in my image stash. I do not know the manufacturer of this stamp. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

The background was made by stamping with a striped background stamp and embossing with white embossing powder. I then used watercolors between the stripes. Google eyes and a bow were added for interest.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day!
