Bio.

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like minded people.

I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.

This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

I try to make Christmas cards throughout the year so that I will not be so crunched right before Christmas. This challenge is a good way to get some of those Christmas cards made early! I just love this sneaky little mouse gnawing on the candycane.  I added a hat sticker to the mouse to make him more festive.

Handmade Background #16

Welcome back to to my background series! I had a fun surprise when making this card.

Stamps:  Bird and Saying - Stampendous

                   

The background was made by dabbing glue with a cottonball on a piece of white card stock, leaving some open areas. When the glue dried I sponged on green, blue and gray inks. This is the surprise I got. I used a tree stencil that came with the bird set and started sponging a darker green ink throught the stencil. Because of the glue acting as a resist it made the tree look like birch bark! I then outlined the stencil with a fine point pen so that it would stand out better. The bird was colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut.

I just love a good cup of tea and one of my favorites is Jasmine tea! As you see this little mouse is taking a tea bath in Jasmine tea. My son lives in Charleston, SC  and many of the old houses downtown have Jasmine growing by their gates and steps. The aroma is delightful when walking by.

Handmade Bakcground #15

Hi and welcome to my blog. I used another background from my stash on this card. I am not really sure how I made this background, but I think this is what I did! LOL! I think I used some plastic packaging where the bottom was ridged or a piece of cardboard box. I used some green Pearl alcohol ink and other regular alcohol inks - dropped colors on my craft mat and pressed the plastic into the colors. I then stamped the inked plastic on my gelli plate and then pulled off the design. I was trying to figure out why the green in the background was shimmery and the other colors were not, so I think this is what I did. 😏

I stamped the flower and leaves on vellum and used white embossing powder. I colored with Tombow markers, fussy cut the images and added them to the card.
