Handmade Background #25

Merry Christmas! Welcome to my blog. This is my last card for my handmade background series this year!

On this background I used a glue ink pad on an Impression Obession snowflake background stamp and stamped it on blue card stock. I placed some silver foil paper over the stamped image and ran it through my laminator. The ornament stamp is from Sparkle n Sprinkle. The pine needles die is from Gina Marie.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that you have a blessed Christmas!

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like minded people.  I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.  This has become my second addiction and have never looked back.  I love making new images and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue.

A BIG thank you to ALL our generous sponsors for your continued support  throughout 2020

Handmade Background #24

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have had fun using some of my handmade backgrounds this year, from my stash. I still have hundreds! I know it will take me the rest of my life to use up all of them! LOL! I really enjoy learning and doing new stamping techniques for my cards. So here is one more.

For this background I brayered some white acrylic paint over the raised areas of an embossing folder. I placed my sponged background on top of the painted areas and pressed the background with my hands (or you can brayer over it). I like the distressed look it gave. The stamp is from Just For Fun Stamps. It was fussy cut and added to the card. I added some purple metallic washi tape and sequins for interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blesssed day!

Floating Alcohol Inks

Hi and welcome to my blog. Over at Simon Says Stamp the challenge this week is focus on alcohol inks. I love working with alcohol inks and I have used them in many ways. For this card I put drops of several colors of alcohol inks in water. The inks float on top of the water. I placed glossy card stock on top of the water, lifted it off and this left a neat background on my card. I like the artsy feel of this card.

Stamps: Circle and Stems - Just for fun Stamps
Die:  Part of a butterfly flourish - no brand
Punch:  Martha Stewart
Flower Stickers
Alcohol Inks - Ranger

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
