Birds of a Feather

I decided to use some images that I had already stamped, so I looked in my bird file of images. Here are 2 cards  I made with the them. I love these birds. Hope you like them too!

Quad Challenge for Posh Impressions

This is a card I did for the Quad Challenge over at Posh Impressions. We had to have 4 elements on our card. We were to have 3 flowers, dry embossing, torn paper and use distress ink! I used Tim Holtz's brick wall embossing folder using chocolate core card stock. I sanded the card stock and the red showed through, although it really looks pinkish. I used torn paper for the "sky" and used Aged Mahogany distress ink to age the layers. Then I used 3 Prima flowers. This was fun trying to use all 4 elements.

Fallen Leaf -- Brilliance Technique

Okay. I didn't quite get ALL the technique that Bonnie said on her blog. After seeing it, I did another card with the falling leaves. I used Brilliance Platinum Planet ink and stamped the Stampibilities music score onto glossy card stock. I then took a large solid leaf stamp and colored the leaf with different colors of markers. I then huffed on the stamp and stamped over the background. The background shows through the stamped leaves and also gives a shimmery look to the whole piece. This is an easy and beautiful technique. Thanks again, Bonnie, for showing this on your blog.

Christmas Dove

Bonnie over at Love Light and Peace showed a card that they did at the Whipperstampers club last week. I wanted to try my hand at the technique and I made a Christmas card using it. I stamped snowflakes using Brilliance Platinum Planet ink on glossy card stock. You can't see it well on my scan, but snowflakes are on the white background and the white label die cut.  You can see a snowflake in the upper left corner of the card. This just gives the card a nice shimmery background. The blue on the card is blue glitter card stock. I used a cuttlebug snowflake die and enhanced the snowflake folder impression on them with blue ink. Thanks, Bonnie for showing yours on your blog. I really enjoyed making this card!

Hit the Road

I received this neat card stock piece in a swap. I couldn't wait to make a card with it. I used Tim Holtz's brick embossing folder on the side of the card. I had this neat rubber tread embellishment that I just had to use.

Hero Arts Challenge

I made this card for the Hero Arts Keeping in Touch challenge. The background was done by spritzing the card stock with water and then stippling on 3 different colors of Twinkling H2Os. Then I spritzed the card stock with water again to let the colors run more. All the stamped images are Hero Arts. I used Martha Stewart punches for the white border and around the saying.

Chocolate Coordinates Card Stock

I have been looking for the Chocolate Coordinates card stock for a long time. I finally found it this weekend and couldn't wait to make a card with it! I used a new Sizzix embossing folder and then I sanded over the embossed impression. The bottom teal color showed through the top brown color. I also used Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die for the burgundy flower.

Cuttlebug Acetate Challenge

Here is my cuttlebug challenge card for this week. We were to use acetate on our card along with something cuttlebugged! The window on my card is acetate colored with alcohol inks. The frame is a Disney cuttlebug folder and die. The flowers along the bottom of the frame is a cuttlebug border. The birds are from Inkadinkado. This was a fun challenge. I have not used acetate for a long time, so it was fun to pull out something old to use again.

Posh Dry Embossing Challenge

Hi Everyone! I am glad to be back online. Last Friday, lightning fried our computer, several TVs and other things.  We just got things up and running again. Glad we are safe and that the house didn't burn down! Anyway, here is a card I just entered in the club Posh dry embossing challenge. We were to use dry embossing on our card. I used the paisley cuttlebug folder for my dry embossing. The frame is a nestibily and the bird image is from Inkadinkado.

Tag Challenge -- Distress Inks

I joined another Posh challenge this week. The challenge is to make a tag by itself or on a card or scrapbook page, using distress inks. For the background of this tag I patted 4 colors of the distress inks on a craft sheet, spritzed the colors with water and then laid my tag on the colors and smooshed it around a bit. I love the background that this technique makes.

Tattered Angel

It is always fun to have stamping friends over to play. I had 2 good friends to come over yesterday and I got to play with a new set of stamps from Tattered Angels. These are gorgeous stamps and they also have stencils to go along with them. On the first card I sponged color over the stencils for the background and on the other cards I sprayed Adirondack color wash over them. I love techniques, so this was a lot of fun for me.
