Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle It's A Cultural Thing blog hop! We are celebrating different cultures and customs by making cards using stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle. If you came from Barbara's lovely blog you are in the right spot! Otherwise you might want to start with the Sparkle N Sprinkle's blog to get all the details to be able to win four great prizes! We are celebrating America's cultural richness in a blog hop. I made two cards representing other cultures that I have visited. The first card represents Africa where my husband and I went on several safaris. I just had to use the dark fern with the lovely zebra on this card. I have also been to the beautiful islands in the Carribean. I remember the colorful hibiscus blooms that I saw there, so I used the Sparkle N Sprinkle hibiscus blossom on my second card. Rememebr that through the end of the month the Sparkle N Sprinkle Team presents Design Elements, Asian, Medallions and Andrea Roberts stamps on special for 15% off. April, I just LOVE the themes in your cards. Horticulture plays a big part in our culture - it even contains the name! Depending on where we live, animals cause us to adjust our life styles, and learn great appreciation. Flowers and plants are my passion. They thrive in my home, and outside. They absolutely fill my life with happiness and appreciation which otherwise would not be there! Thanks, too, for the fantastic artwork in layering and texturing your cards. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful cards photographed in a way that compliments the theme! The flowers are colored so lovely and frame the Zebra so well, and I love that lattice on the second card! So unique!

ReplyDeleteApril, I always love the elegance of your cards. The zebra card is stunning with the splash of color from the flowers. I love how you layered the sentiment on the 2nd card over the lattice background with more of those lovely flowers. I am ready to head to the Carribean. Want to join me?

I like how you told us about why you made the cards. The zebra is a favorite stamp of mine and you made a wonderful card. And the lattice card really takes us to the Caribbean. Great job.

the zebra & lattice cards are grand & the flowers add a grand addition Sandy rustydoc1@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThe use of adding flowers to your cards make the cards truly tropical. good option of alternate culture use
ReplyDeleteYour cards are great. I've always wanted to go on an African safari. I was wondering what the background squares were made from on the zebra card, but think maybe it is the paper. Your second card is particularly lovely with all the pink & the lattice.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. I especially like the pink with lattice. So soft and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you used pink flowers on both cards!
ReplyDeleteThe zebra is one of my favorite stamps. I love the way you used the flowers in the corner. Nice touch. I also like the lattice look on the second card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards I love the lattice card.

April very nice cards. I like the zebra card and I especially like the second card with the lattice background and the island flowers.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards April. The flowers are so lovely on both. I particularly love how they look with the zebra - they accent so nice it makes the zebra pop! And I loved the background info too!
ReplyDeleteWow, April, both of those are lovely. I like the zebra with your embossed BG for texture, the flowers and the tie! The lattice card is lovely too!
ReplyDeleteSuper cards! I love the way you embossed the frame around the zebra - and the lattice looks super on the second card.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you've done a few safaris! Both my parents lived in Africa as children - and I've been to Egypt - but I'd love to go further South and see the wild animals one day.
