Welcome back to my Bits and Bobs post. I want to show you a couple of cards I made from some cool stuff I found in a drawer that I have not used in ages! Have you ever heard of fusible fibers? I bought several colors of these at a stamp convention many years ago and I had to go online to remember how to use them! LOL! The old bits and bobs I used on this card are the fibers, heart stamps and silver pigment ink that I have had forever and a border punch that I think I have used once!
Fusible fibers are sparkly and thin. I chose white, silver and hot pink, spread them apart and layered them on my craft sheet. Aren't these lovely?
Next I placed a paper towel over them and used my craft iron to press over them. You must use a low temperature. The heat makes the fibers fuse together and they will not stick to the mat or the towel. Now you can see how the fibers fused together. They are flat, together and very shiny.
I decided to cut a heart shape out of the fibers using a die. To make the fibers more stable I laid the fibers on pink card stock and ran it through my die cut machine.
I ended up with a fun surprise! This looks like a boa scarf around the cut out heart! So I made another card using this piece that I will show in a bit.
Here is a close up of the fiber heart. You can see the shine better here.
This is the second card I made using the pink scrap. I found the perfect image to place behind the heart in my stash of images. The ribbon is from discarded packaging.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have fun looking through your stash and finding fun bits and bobs to play with! Have a great day!
