Blue Block Stamping

On the Two Peas in a Bucket board we have been discussing "oldies but goodies" techniques. I love techniques, but I haven't done any for awhile. I took out my blue foam block. Do you remember those? You heat it up with a heat gun and then press it on an object to make an indention in the block, ink up the block and stamp! I used the cuttlebug ceiling tile folder for my impression as you can see in the first picture. I then used a Nellie die to cut out the impression that I stamped in blue to use on the card.

Window Card

I just got back from a great week at Pigeon Forge, although yesterday we had tornado warnings from 5pm to 12:30am! Thankfully none came through where we were staying even though they were close! I am teaching my local stamp group -- The Stamping Divas -- how to make this window card out of one piece of double sided card stock, next Monday. I will put up some instructions soon.

Join The Party

These last 2 cards have been birthday cards. It seems I always need them. So for this Cat's Pajamas sketch challenge, I made another one. This was a fun sketch and a fun card to make. I have not made a long card in a LONG time.  LOL! You can see the sketch here -- http://dancinginpajamas.blogspot.com/ . I just love this Cat's Pajamas cat. I have used him a lot! The little dog is cute too. I was happy to use this birthday pad of paper that I bought recently. I have seen it many times and it would always catch my eye, so I finally bought it!

Do The Polka

I made this card for the Impression Obsession challenge -- Do The Polka.  We were to make a card using dots. I used their cover-a- card dots background stamp and colored some of the dots with Twinkling H2Os. The balloons were also colored with Twinkling H2Os. Hoping everyone is having a good day. We just had a downpour here, but I am glad it is warm.  You can see the challenge by clicking here -- http://mitrafriant.typepad.com/impression_obsession_news/

Keeping It Kool

Recently I had some friends over and we worked some more on the Art Lenz products that we took a class on a few weeks ago. They have some special paper that you can put under the Art Lenz to make your stamped image look 3-D. I just love this paper! You can see the red lines behind the penguin on this card. If you wiggle the card the lines will move.  You can see the Art Lenz products and videos here -- http://www.artlenz.com/

Magic Card

We are having another warm and beautiful day here today. I hope you are having a good day. At our local stamp club ( The Stamping Divas ) we learned how to make a magic card. This is an oldie, but I have never made one. At the club mine turned out rather weird, so I tried it again at home. I wanted to master this. Well, this is the card I came up with after 3 attempts! LOL! Here is a tutorial of how to make one. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/magic_card/. I modified mine a little by making the window smaller in order to have more of a front to decorate.

Yellow, Orange, Teal Plus Flower Tutorial

Cat's Pajamas has a challenge this week using the colors yellow, orange and teal. Here is my card using these colors. I did paper piecing on the cat's hat. I made these flowers awhile back and had one with perfect colors to use on this card. You can see the challenge here -- http://dancinginpajamas.blogspot.com/. These flowers are easy and fun to make. First punch or die cut a scallop with 14 scallops from a solid piece of card stock. Punch or cut another scallop ( the same size ) out of patterned paper to coordinate with the solid card stock. Lay the patterned paper on a cutting mat.  Glue a larger button to the center. Take an exato knife and cut a small triangle from every two humps towards the button. Do not cut off the triangle pieces. When all are cut, turn the paper over and add a glue dot and stick it over the solid color scallop, matching the scallops.  Pull the pieces up over the button and secure with a large glue dot. Then glue down the rest of the patterned paper. Add a smaller button to the top of the larger button. You can see a close-up of the flower in my first picture.

Stampendous Sketch

The Stampendous challenge this week is a sketch. You can view it here -- http://stampendousblog.wordpress.com/.  I had these beautiful butterflies from Stampendous that I colored , cut out and then used glitter at the ends of their wings. I just bought this pretty K&Co. pad where the paper punches out with a design around it. I love it! Just had to use it. These butterflies just make me want Spring to stay. I hope it does. We have had nice warm weather these past few days.

Sweet Stamps Challenge

At Sweet Stamps the challenge is to use ribbon, 2 patterned papers and 3 brads or jewels. I have this beautiful Sweet Stamp that I stamped on heavy vellum and embossed in white. I then colored on the back. I cut out another center of the stamp and popped it over the center of the first stamp. I used K&Co. double sided paper, flipped the paper over and cut out the Fleur de Lis die to use as a backing for the stamp. I added green pearls to the stamp as embellishment. The border was made by using Martha Stewart punches. You can see the challenge here -- http://sweetstampsblog.blogspot.com/

Greatest Joy

At Just Rite Stamps the challenge is a color challenge this week. These are soft, pretty colors for Spring. I used flowers from the Greatest Joy set and stamped them on a sizzix oval die. The swirls behind the die is a Quickutz die. I punched the butterflies using a Paper Studio punch. You can see the challenge by clicking here --

Monocromatic

It is such a lovely day here today. Warm and sunny! At Joan's Gardens the challenge this week is to make a monocromatic card with a splash of color. I have been wanting to make an all white card for some time now, so this was the perfect opportunity. I think these type cards are so pretty for a wedding or anniversary. We also were to use an embossing folder, die cut and a dimensional item. I really enjoyed making this card. Encouragement

At Impression Obsession this week the challenge is to make an Encouragement card. I enjoyed making this card because I love the Colonial Spring stamp ( K1006 ) that I used for the background. I stamped it with Staz On Black on glossy card stock and used metallic rub ons to add color. I used the Flower Wheel Barrow ( D 1312 ), popped it up and used Flower soft for the flowers in the wheel barrow. The saying is a PSX stamp. Felted

I am entering this card into two challenges. At House Mouse we had a sketch to follow here -- http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/ and at the Cuttlebug Spot the theme is to use felt. I love the House Mouse stamps and had this cutie eating watermelon. I had these felt "buttons" that I had never used, so I was glad to be able to use them for this project. I cuttled the yellow background with the large flowers cuttlebug folder and brushed darker yellow ink over them to enhance them a bit. I enjoyed making this card. It was cheery after a week of cold and rain here. The sun has come out today -- YEAH!  You can click here to see the cuttlebug challenge -- http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/
