Technique Tuesday -- Finding Your Marbles

Hello and welcome once again to Technique Tuesday at Sparkle N Sprinkle! I hope you are enjoying your day. I am certainly glad that it has been cooler lately and a hint of  Fall is in the air! I have heard about this technique that I am showing today,  but this is the first time that I have tried it.  I was doing this technique when a non stamper friend of mine was here visiting and she must have thought I had really lost my marbles! You will need to FIND your marbles to play with this one!

Supplies:

  1. several marbles -- I used 3
  2. several colors of reinkers -- I used olive, butterscotch and cranberry
  3. a plastic box with lid
  4. white or cream cardstock
  5. removable tape
Place removable tape to the back of the card stock and adhere to the lid of the box.

Now place the marbles in the bottom of the plastic box.

Add a few drops of the reinker colors.

Tilt the box back and forth and from side to side to get the marbles inked.

Put the lid on the box making sure it is secure and turn the box upside down.  Roll the marbles around on the cardstock that you adhered to the lid.

If you want to add more ink, just open the lid and add a few more drops and move the box around as before.  Now you have a neat background.

When I went to make my card,  I decided I didn't like so much white showing on the background,  so I stippled a gold color over it to tone it down a bit.  I then used a die cut to cut out a shape.

Now find your marbles and have some fun! LOL! Thank you for stopping by. I trust you will a fun time with this technique!

What a fun idea - I'll have to check to see if I can find my marbles to give it a try!

How interesting that Brenda keeps her marbles in an apothecary jar! Hmmm, maybe I should try that so that don't become lost so often? LOL Love how you used the black outline on the bird to bring out the background! Really pretty flower, too!
