Meow's It Going?

Hi and welcome to my blog! I received some new craft items recently and I have been playing with a fun background stamp. On this card background I used several oxide ink colors. I love all the circles and swirls! The cat was stamped and fussy cut. I have three cats and this image reminds me of our sassy cat that we took in last. She has been trying out new sleeping places over the past few weeks. She will sleep one place for a week and then find another spot and sleep there for about a week and so on! I am wondering where I will find her next! My other cats just sleep in their usual places.

On this card I added sequins for more interest. My stamping friends and I ordered sequins in bulk one time and divided them up among us. I still have so many and I love using them on a lot of my cards!

Stamps:  Cat - Inkadinkado
Saying - Serendipity Stamps
Background - no brand

Butterfly Accordion Card

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have an accordion card to show you that I made for the Butterfly Challenge. I love cards that have different folds. There are several things to choose from to make your card over at the challenge. I made the accordion card, used light pink, patterned papers and of course, butterflies!

Here is the card opened up.

Handmade Background #14

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope that you are enjoying your day. It is time for another background card. I am making a little dent in using my many backgrounds that I have made over the years!

I used a honeycomb stencil for this background and applied translucent embossing paste. After it dried I used yellow and orange Twinkling H2Os to color over it. This gave the background a nice shimmer. The paste is also shiny.

I stamped the bees from Inkadinkado, added Stickles clear glitter on the wings and popped up the wings of the center bee. The Hello die is by Tonic.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

I made this card with a friend in mind. She and I both had a milestone birthday this year!

Stamp:  Be Mine Heart and Sole - Stampabilities
Saying:  Inkadinkado
Dies:  Numbers - Sizzix (Tim Hiltz)
Stitched Oval - Gina Marie
Embossing Folder:  Happy Birthday - Cuttlebug
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
Acrylic Paint

I have been trying to use up a lot of the many backgrounds that I have made over the years. I can't just stop at one background when I have all my supplies out! LOL! The background behind the numbers was made by swiping an old credit card across a card where acrylic paints had been applied. This helped to blend and spread the colors.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see you over at the challenge!
Have a wonderul day!

Many thanks to our generous Sponsor for their continued support.

I made this card for the option of stitching. My stitching will have to be faux since I don't sew! This image always makes me think of July. I remember when I was growing up having backyard picnics in July and dessert would be watermelon! A big juicy watermelon slice is so good on a very hot summer day!

Handmade Background #13

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. Once again I am back with a handmade background card. There are a lot of ways to use a gelli plate, but I had never tried using markers on a gelli plate before. This background was made using markers on a gelli plate and I love the look!

Stamps:  Boatyard - Art Impressions, Wavy Ball - Rubber Nature
Markers: Tombow

I used my small rectangle gelli plate and swiped blue and purple colors onto the gelli plate, using the side of the brush nibs. I spritzed the gelli plate a little with water so that the colors blended better. I then stamped the wavy ball stamp three times in a row. This lifted off some of the color and left this neat background. I stamped the image over the background in a dark blue ink. I wanted to bring out the banks at the left, so I used my watercolor pen to blend the colors a little. I like that there is still a pattern there.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
