Just For Fun March Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying your day. Just For Fun Stamps has a new challenge and for this challenge you are to use dies. The two dies I used on my card are the Marianne Birdcage die and the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die. I cut the birdcage from a pewter metal sheet. Most of you already know that I love birds. On my card today I used the Just For Fun Fashion Warbler stamp.

The bird was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the bird using Twinkling H2Os, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card. The background was made by tapping Distress inks onto my craft mat, spritzing them with water and swiping the card stock through the inks.

I hope you will join us in our new challenge this month. We would love to see what you make! You might even win a gift certificate to the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Shabby Chic #4

I hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day! I am here again showing you another shabby chic card I made. February is a good time to think about making wedding cards, so here is one I made using an svg cut for the base. I used a dotted swiss heart embossing folder to add texture and then I used a lot of scraps from my stash. The two hearts were stamped on patterned papers and fussy cut.

Thinking Of You

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to share a card I made using one of Just For Fun's new silhouette stamps. This one is called Rainy Walk In The Wildflowers. I have been trying to use up supplies I have in my stash and I found this background that I had made using several stencils. I stamped the image using purple ink over the purple stencilled area. I like that the pattern from the stencil showed up on the silhouette image. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

You still have a few days to enter the silhouette challenge. The winner will receive a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Butterfly in Pink

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made using an Inkadinkado butterfly stamp. The butterfly was part of a scene, so I fussy cut it to stand alone on this card. I colored it using white and pink Liquid Pearls to give it a bit of shimmer. I used pearls for the butterfly's body.

The pink circle was made using a Martha Stewart butterfly corner punch. I stamped a script stamp on the pink and white circle backgrounds. Enamel dots and pearls were added randomly on the card. I haven't used fibers in a long time. I rummaged through my fiber bag and found some to make a bow with.

The light pink background was made by using a resist technique. I pounced plastic wrap into white Liquid Pearls and then pounced it on white card stock. When it dried I sponged over the card stock with pink Distress ink. The Liquid Pearls acted as a resist.

A Mousie Christmas!

Hi and welcome to my blog. Each month I try to make at least three Christmas cards so that by Christmas they are all made. I have been doing this for three years now and boy has it helped with the stress near the season! I want to show you a card I just made using this cute House Mouse stamp!

The background is patterned paper. I cut a circle using the Spellbinders Small Circle die and placed a woodgrain panel that I made behind it. I then stamped the Merry Christmas saying form Inkadinkado. I stamped the stokings and paper pieced them using burlap patterned paper. They were fussy cut and pop dotted to the card. I used a Tim Holtz punch for the greenery and added the poinsettia.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Shabby Chic #3

Hi! Valentine's Day is right around the corner! I want to show you a shabby chic Valentine I made using scraps from my stash.

I started with the heart frame that I found in my stash of images. The heart was made by stamping with peg stamps. I stamped the Sparkle N Sprinkle birds and colored them with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I fussy cut the heart using decorative scissors. All of the rest of the pieces, swirls, borders, ribbon, pearls and buttons also came from my stash and were added as embellishments. I used Tim Holtz's distress tool to rough up the edges of the pink patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a very Happy Valentine's Day!

Feel Better Soon

Hi! I hope you are doing well and haven't caught the flu bug. I made a get well card because it seems like the flu is really bad this year. I followed the challenge theme at Just For Fun for this month and used one of their many silhouette stamps. This one is called Favorite Spot. Speaking of a favorite spot, my three cats love looking out the window too. Sometimes all three are in the same window IF they are feeling tolerant of each other at the time! LOL! I have several bird feeders they like to watch.

I stamped the image on blue inked card stock, fussy cut it and added it to patterned paper. I used some lighter brown flocking on the cat. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

I hope you will join the Just For Fun challenge this month. We would love to see your wonderful creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store.

Birthday Twisted Pop Out Card

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a a twisted pop up birthday card I made. I like to make birthday cards that are fun and this type of card is perfect for that. Here is the link on how to make one -- twisted pop up card

I used scraps from a birthday paper pad I had and the images are from Penny Black's Critter Party stamp set. The saying on the inside was computer generated.

Here is the card opened.

I colored all the images with colored pencils. The candle was cut from a paper scrap and adhered to the inside of the card. All the images were cut out using the Spellbinders Small Circles dies.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. Have a great day!
