Shabby Chic #20

Hi! I am showing another shabby chic card today. I found this leaf in my stash where I had used a die to emboss it on the card stock. I then colored the raised areas with silver paint. Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress inks were smooshed onto the card stock for the background. A light spray of gold Shimmer Mist was sprayed over the piece.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the silver edges on the card. Die cut leaves, Prima flowers, cord, lace and silver ribbon were added for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Tee-rific

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I want to show you a fun new golfer stamp that will be available soon at Just For Fun Stamps.

I used an embossing folder that had a band across it, perfect to stamp the saying on. The "grass" was made by using a striped embossing folder and then cutting it to look like the ground. I stamped the golfer using black ink, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card. Little die cut clouds were added to the top.

I hope that you will join the "back to school" challenge that we have going on this month. You might even win a gift cerficate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Chillin'

Hi and welcome to my blog. I was in Charleston, SC this past weekend and boy was it hot there! I would have loved to be like this little mouse just chillin' in the water.

I colored the image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I found the scrap of swirled paper in my stash that was perfect for the water. I added die cut clouds and some are pop dotted for dimension. I added a butterfly charm to the cord and colored it with yellow and green Sharpie markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!!!!

Hello Friend

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I made a winter card using the Large Cardinal stamp from Just For Fun Stamps. I have had a cardinal couple in my backyard for many years and I loved seeing them at my feeder. I am sad because I have not seen them for awhile. I hope they did not fly somewhere else. I saw a hawk flying around a few weeks ago and I am afraid he scared them off or worse! Hopefully I will see some more cardinals soon.

I also stamped the Just For Fun Large Pine Bough stamp twice onto white card stock. I colored and fussy cut them, then snipped around the edges with my scissor to fluff them up. I also added white Liquid Applique on them for "snow." I used a background die that someone gave me and added clear Stickles glitter on each star. I cut words using dies cut from kraft card stock and outlined them with a black sharpie marker.

Don't forget that we have a challenge going on. Please join in and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Memories In Time

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a vintage card I made using the Memories In Time stamp from Just For Fun. This is such a beautiful feminine stamp. I colored it using colored pencils and Gamsol to give it a soft look.

I used my new Flowers Frame die by Precious Marieke  to cut out the image. The middle die was just the perfect size for the image! The fancy frame around it was cut from dark purple card stock. On the lighter purple background I stamped the Long Script background stamp over it three times. I tore the upper right corner and sponged brown ink on the card's edges. Flowers and a bow were added for embellishments.

You still have a few days to join in the Just For Fun Wedding Time challenge. We would love to see your wonderful creations!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Altered Dies #5

Welcome back to another altered die project. Easter will soon be here and it is time to think about those Easter bonnets! When I was growing up my mother, her friends and I wore Easter hats to church on Easter Sunday. Do you remember those days? I am showing my age. LOL! Here is my altered die card with an Easter bonnet.

I started with the Rose Basket Marianne Die.

To make the basket look more like a bonnet, I added back in the little pieces that were cut out! Boy THAT was fun! LOL! I then taped the back so that they would stay in. Then I cut off the handle and decorated it with little die cut flowers and a bow!

The second die I used was the Memory Box Small Alder Tree.

I snipped off a few pieces here and there to make it look more like a branch for my bird.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Altered Dies #3

Hi Everyone! Can you believe that Valentine's Day is right around the corner? I want to show you a Valentine I made with altered dies. I will be showing you how I made these sweet love birds using heart dies and a round punch!

I started with these 2 Nellie Snellen heart dies and used patterned and plain pink card stocks to cut them from.

I cute the hearts in half to make the body and wings of the birds.

I layered them like this and added a punched circle from patterned card stock for the heads. I also cut 2 scallops off one of the hearts for the beaks.

Next I used a my new Wreath die by Spellbinders and cut it apart to make branches.

I stamped the word "love" on a Spellbinders Fancy Labels die and pop dotted it to the card and added a heart charm.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how you can use your dies in different ways to make something totally new. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I have made a special card today for a very serious matter here in our country. Purple is the color of Domestic Violence Awareness month. Did you know that 33% of the women you meet have experienced domestic violence over the course of their lifetime? This does not count the men and children who have also been abused.

SO, many of us are making cards to raise awareness about this issue. Together we CAN make a powerful impact. Fourteen paper crafting companies are supporting this Hop to Stop Domestic Violence event. They are giving away amazing prizes for those who enter a card by October 14th. You can see the hop and rules here -- Damsel of Distressed.

I hope that you will join us in this Hop to Stop Domestic Violence.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Here is a closer view of the silk flowers I used.

I stamped a butterfly on light purple card stock, fussy cut it and popped it up on the die cut background. Bridal glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle was used around the edges of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Go For The Gold

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a card I made using a product that I have not used in a long time, thanks to inspiration on Sandy Allnock's blog! She is sharing free classes for a week and showing some wonderful techniques and products! For this card I got my inspiration from class day 2.

I love Fall and all its beautiful colors. I really had fun making this card and being creative with the leaves. I cut the leaves out of thin cardboard using dies and brushed crackle paint over them. After the paint dried and crackled, I painted them with a gold pigment powder by adding water to the powder. I have had this product for years and I love how it shines. I also painted the gold around the edges of the second layer of card stock to match the leaves.

I made the background for the card by patting Distress inks on my craft pad spritzing them with water and swiping the card stock through them. I added interest by stamping a script background, wire and dots to it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Love You A Latte

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a card I made using one of Sparkle N Sprinkle's new stamp sets called Espresso Yourself 699. I do not drink coffee but I sure do love the smell of it brewing!

I had so much fun making my background using white stencil paste and embossing powders. Here is a short tutorial.

I used very dark brown card stock and taped my stencil over it to hold it down well. ( TIP )

I covered the whole card stock and stencil with white stencil paste.

When the stencil is lifted off it looks like this.

This is the fun part. I sprinkled Sienna Star EP425, Tuscan Star EP426 and Log Cabin EP397  embossing powders over the wet stencil paste. I then heat set the embossing powders with my heat tool. I got this beautiful shimmery and textured background!

I also used Brown Fizz EP381 embossing powder for the "coffee" in the cup and on the saying. Diamond Glaze was used on the coffee cup to make it look like porcelain. You can see some of the shine on the edge of the saucer.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

A Summer Garden

Hello Everyone!  Summer has hit full force! We have very hot and humid weather. We have also been revamping our front flower bed. We yanked out overgrown bushes and planted smaller bushes and flowers. It looks so much better! Speaking of flower beds, I want to show you a card I made using the new Sparkle N Sprinkle  stamp set,Daisies 619. This is such a lovely stamp set. I really enjoyed making my card with it.

I had fun using a lot of embossing folders and dies as well. I am glad I got to use the new bird die that my good friend gave me for my birthday. I used Glisten embossing powder EP135 on them so that they would stand out more.

Bubblegum glitter G1088 was used on the large pink flower. You can click here for further                                                           instructions on how to make this card.
