Handmade Background #10

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. Here is another card using a background in my stash that I made awhile back.

I made the background starting with navy card stock and laying a flower stencil on it. I then patted my Versa Mark ink pad over the stencil. Keeping the stencil in place, I then brushed on white Powdered Pearls over the whole stencil. When the stencil was removed it left this shimmery design. The Versa Mark ink helped to keep the powder stay put. I like the misty look of this technique.

I found this bird by Royal King in my image stash. I added lace and a bow for interest.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Handmade Background #9

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have another background card to show you. I love working with stencils and I just love this layered stencil. I had 2 of these backgrounds in my stash. The other one was sponged with greens and blues. I thought this one was better for the month of May!

I used the first stencil layer that had more open areas and sponged various pinks and yellows in lighter shades of Oxide inks. I laid the next stencil on top of this and used darker shades of pinks and yellows. This is now my favorite stencil!

I found the butterfly image from Sparkle N Sprinkle in my image stash. I had stamped it on acetate and colored the back side with alcohol inks. I fussy cut it and added it to the card.

I cut the Hello by Tonic out of black and salmon card stock and added it to the top of the card. Bits of ribbons were added to the bottom along with enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Bird - Day!

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I want to show you a card using this fun Penny Black stamp called Bird-Day. This stamp always makes me smile!

I used a lot of techniques on this card. The background was made by smooshing oxide ink colors and spritzing and splatting water across it. I fussy cut and paper pieced the image, The label was made by using a border punch across 2 sides of white card stock and then cutting across so that the label had 2 pretty designs at each end. I also doodled some dots and dashes here and there for interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Bio.
I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like minded people.

I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not
find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back
I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them
and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

AND

We have these two adorable House Mouse stamps from the Design Team for one lucky entrant too!

Please remember you must use a
House Mouse Design image on your card/project to enter.

During this virus pandemic there have been so many people getting together to help in so many ways! Yes, we do get more done when we help together like these little meeces are doing. This stamp makes me think of all those who are supplying food for school age children, the homeless and others. I know they are a real encouragement to those who are receiving this help.

Stamp:  Feeding Koi - Stampendous
Dies:  Small Ovals - Spellbinders
Waves - Tessler (die was embossed on this card)
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
