JFF January Challenge

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope this will be your best year ever! As I get older each year goes by faster. I do not know where 2017 went! I want to show you a card I made for the Just For Fun challenge. We have a great challenge to start off the New Year. The challenge is to use blue, purple and silver on your card. These are such wonderful winter colors. I hope you will join us in the challenge and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Image may contain: text

I made the background on this card by patting blue and purple Oxide inks on my craft sheet, spritzing with water and dragging the card through the inks. Once dry, I spritzed some water over the background to add some interest. Next I laid a stencil over the background and used white matte embossing paste. I then sprinkled silver embossing powder over the paste and heat set it. I stamped a new Just For Fun stamp called Silhouette Pines. I used Versa Mark ink and added purple embossing powder and heat set it. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great start to your new year!

Peppermint Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope you have been enjoying this Christmas season. I want to show you a Christmas card I made using some of Just For Fun's new stamps.

I took a blue inked background and added some sticker snowflakes to it and cut a window from brown distressed paper using a Memory Box die. I adhered it over the blue background and added it to the green checkered paper. I stamped the new Canning Jar sm. stamp on acetate and fussy cut it. I stamped the new Peppermint Candies 1 using red ink , fussy cut them and placed them behind the jar. I adhered the jar to the window. A paper doily was placed under the window. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I wish all of you a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Christmas Fawn

Hi and welcome to my blog. Are you ready for Christmas? I actually have all my Christmas shopping done and I can now do a little creating. I made a Christmas card using this sweet stamp from the Artful Stamper. At Cropstop, their challenge is to use any products they sell at their store. I used the Spellbinders Labels 39 Decorative Accents die for the red frame. The image was colored using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. It was cut out using Spellbinders Labels 4 die. The die was edged using a silver paint pen. I added flowers, cord, punched ferns and a chipboard snowflake as embellishments. Clear Stickles glitter was added to the sowflakes and snow. Silver pearls were also added for accent.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful Christmas season!

Reindeer Greetings

Hi and welcome to my blog. Have you gotten in the Christmas spirit yet? We had a surprise snow here in South Carolina over the weekend and it certainly put me in the Christmas spirit! We hardly ever get snow. We got about 3 inches. I want to show you a Christmas card I made. I am trying to do more shabby chic cards and I think this one qualifies.

I made the background by using a snowflake embossing folder and swiping a few colors of Distress inks over the raised areas. I stamped the deer (unknown) using Walnut Stain Oxide ink and cut it out with the Gina Marrie Stitched Circle die. The frame for the deer was made by using a Martha Stewart corner punch. I added some "greenery" at the top made from blue card stock using the Impression Obessesion Greenery die. The snowflake is also a die (unknown) and I added clear stickles glitter to it as you can see in the picture below. I cut a tag using a cuttlebug die and embossed the saying with white embossing powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a blessed Christmas season!

'Tis The Season

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season. I want to show you a card I made using some Just For Fun stamps. I used part of the new stamp Couple Under The Light Post. I inked up just the light post and stamped it on my blue inked background. I added yellow stickles glitter for the light. I also stamped the Snowy Pine, sm. stamp using green ink onto the inked background. I then applied white Liquid Applique and clear stickles glitter to the tree and ground. This piece was matted to red card stock and adhered to patterned paper. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.  The squiggles under the sentiment are mine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Just for Fun has a new challenge this month and we would love to see you join in. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season!

Merry Little Christmas

Hi and welcome to my blog. Have you finished your Christmas cards yet? I have finished mine and now I need to get them addressed! Here is a Christmas card I made using a cute penguin stamp from Fiskars.

I made a reverse image of the penguin to show his reflection on the "ice". Different colors of blue Distress inks were sponged around the image. I then added acetate over it and added some glitter for the ice. I stamped the tree stamp from Inkadinkado three times and adhered sequins to them. The stamps were colored using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I made "snow" by using white Liquid Applique. The saying is from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by during this busy season! I hope you have a Merry Little Christmas!

A Fall Day

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope you are enjoying your day. I want to show you a card I made using a new stamp actually called Spring by the Lake Silhouette. Even though it is not Spring I used this stamp for a Fall card!

I made the background by coloring with watercolor crayons on the back of a leaf stencil. I spritzed the stencil with water and laid it on some watercolor paper. I lifted off the stencil and this is the fun background it gave. I stamped the stamp in black ink on top of the background. I framed it using a Gina Marie die. This was pop dotted to a dotted swiss green panel. I added some leaf brads and a cord.

You still have a few days left to join in our challenge! We hope to see you there.

I love the Penny Black hedgehogs. So cute! I colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and added flowers and a bow. I cut the image out using a QuickKutz scallop die.

Bits and Bobs #22

Hi Everyone! This is quite a crazy stamp to be using, but I was challenged by a challenge on a stamping board to use a stamp that you never use or have fallen out of favor with! Well, when would you really use this stamp? I actually bought this stamp in Scotland for a souvenir since we saw these shaggy cows on our tour. This one looks quite grumpy but they are actually docile animals. They look so funny with their long hair.

The bits and bobs I used on this card are the cow stamp, the handmade paper at the bottom, the inked background and an old cardboard star stencil. The saying stamp is quite old too.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are inspired to go through your stash and find old and unused things to create with.

Have a great day!

Three Tier Card

Hi and welcome to my blog! It is a beautiful day here today. I hope you are enjoying your day. I want to show you a three tier card I made. This is the first time I have made one! I used several House Mouse stamps and sayings and made this a birthday card. Here is the picture of the card closed up. I used clear sparkle embossing powder on the frosting of the doughnut.  I used the Gina Marie Stitched Circle die to cut out the image.

Here is the opened card. You pull up in the ribbon to activate it.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying the Fall season as much as I am. I want to show you a card I made using several old and new stamps from Just for Fun.

I used new stamps Cluster of Stalks  and Tiny Flying Birds.  I stamped the older Stamptangle Pumpkin Lg.  on orange card stock and embossed with brown embossing powder. I fussy cut it and popdotted it onto the card. The two birds is an older stamp, Pair of Birds. The saying is from the Sentiment 1 stamp sheet.

To make the background I brushed watercolors on watercolor paper, crinkled some saran wrap and laid it on the wet card until it dried. I pulled off the saran wrap and it gave a tie dye pattern.

Please join us in this month's challenge. You do not need to use a Just For Fun stamp, but we would love it if you could. We would love to see your wonderful creations. You might also win a gift certificate to the store!

Bits and Bobs #21

Hi and welcome to another bits and bobs day. Today I found my stack of rub ons that I have not used in ages! They always add nice detail to a project. I found this die cut in a bag and decided to put my rub on on it. Aren't these pretty rub ons from K & Co?

This is how it came out when I finished rubbing it.

I layered this piece on an embossed green background. The bird from Inkadinakdo had been stamped with black ink onto orange card stock and fussy cut. I added rhinestones that came with the rub ons and also added a black cord bow.

Dig through some of your stuff and you may find some fun items that you have not used on your cards in a long time. Have fun!

Happy Halloween!

Hi Everyone! Halloween is almost here. Are you getting ready for those trick-or-treaters? I must say I miss the kids coming by. We live in a cul-de-sac and we don't get any kids in our neighborhood. Here is a Halloween card I made using brand new stamps from Just For Fun!

I made a bokeh background for this card by sponging on several colors of Distress inks, then laying a circle stencil on top and sponging on white pigment ink. I used the CJ-Canning Jar Wire Handle for my cauldron! When I first got my new stamps I immediately thought this was a cauldron but soon found out that it wasn't! I think it makes a good cauldron anyway! LOL! I stamped it and colored it in using a black Sharpie marker. I found some green Liquid Applique to add to the pot and I then added some clear Stickles glitter over it. The Witch Silhouette, Large was stamped in black beside the pot.

I hope you all have a very Happy Halloween!

Bits and Bobs #20

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a bits and bobs Fall card I made. I have been finding some interesting things in my stash since I started this bits and bobs series this year! I found a pattern book for paper piercing that was written in Swedish! Now my friends will tell you that paper piercing is NOT what I like to do, but I searched through this book and found a simple pattern and endured to the end! LOL! I laid the pattern over green card stock and placed them on a mouse pad so that I could poke holes with a pin.

This process is time consuming so that is why I used this simple frame pattern. I liked how it turned out.

I sponged on a little Distress Vintage Photo ink over the top of the piercing so that it would stand out a little more.

The gourds ( Just For Fun ) and leaf ( Rubber Stampede ) were already stamped and embossed in my stash, so I fussy cut them and pop dotted them in the frame. I added old rhinestones and a lace border to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. It is time to get all those Fall cards made. I hope I have inspired you to make some using your old and interesting stuff! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Haunting

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I have really enjoyed using the brand new Halloween stamps from Just For Fun, and you can see all of them here and here. On this card I used the Haunted Moon Tree.

First I stamped the 2-Sided Doodle Background/Frame on cream cardstock and rubbed a little Micro Glaze over each circle to act as a resist. I used various colors of Color Bursts on the background. Next I stamped the tree and Tiny Black Kat using Jet Black Staz On ink. The eyes are polymer stickers.

The theme for our challenge this month is Halloween! Come on over and join in the fun and you might even win a gift certificate to the store. You do not have to use a Just For Fun Stamp to enter.

Have a Mice Halloween!

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a Halloween card I made. These mice are sooooo cute dressed up in their candy corn costumes!

I had just bought spider embellishments, so I drew a web in the corner of the card and a line for the spider to hang from. I also used green google eyes on the spider. Did you know that spiders' eyes show up like green pin points when a light is shown on them at night? When my oldest son was about 10 years he told this to me because he had learned it in scouts. So one summer night we went outside with flashlights held up to our foreheads and saw all the little pin lights in the grass and bushes. ( Now you can imagine how we looked to anyone that passed by and at that time we lived by a busy road! ) You would not believe the hundreds of little eyes we saw!!!! It can be rather creepy to know how many spiders are in your yard!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a very mice day!

Bits and Bobs #19

Hi and welcome to my blog! Autumn is my favorite season. I love the colors, smells and crisp air! I only wish it would last longer. I made an Autumn card for my bits and bobs card today. I used some fun material called wire or copper mesh. I have not used this in ages and found some that was already heated and stickers applied to it. I found the wire mesh at Hobby Lobby I think in the wood section. To make this product more interesting, you take a heat gun and heat it and it will turn gold and blue in some areas! Place outline stickers over it and cut them out to use as embellishments as I have done with the leaf stickers here.

I had this image already stamped on glossy card stock in my image stash. I matted it to black card stock and then added it to the cream card base. I then adhered the leaves and label with the saying.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a lovely day!

Halloween Greetings

Hi Everyone! Halloween is around the corner. Are you stocking up on candy yet? We don't get trick-or-treaters on our cul-de-sac, but we have a huge crowd at our church's Fall Festival, so I give a lot of candy there for the event. Here is a card I made with one of the many newly released stamps from Just For Fun! This stamp is called Witch With Broom Silhouette.

I love this witch all dressed up for a Halloween party! The background was made by dripping watercolors down the card and then splattering some colors over it. I also added some sparkle enamel dots to make the card more festive. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I would love for you to join in our Halloween card challenge this month. You may even win a gift certificate to the store! Have a great day!

Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone! It seems that I am always needing birthday cards, so I am showing you a birthday card I made following the sketch challenge we are having this month at Just For Fun Stamps.

I ran white card stock through a dotted swiss embossing folder. The fun balloon patterned paper was cut using the Spellbinders Labels 8 die. I used Diamond Glaze on the dark pink balloon. You can see the shine on the right top of it. I colored and fussy cut the Gift Cube stamps and pop dotted them at the bottom of the card. I added polymer dots coming out of the open gift and green ribbons to the right side of the card. I used the birthday saying from the Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet.

I would love for you to join the sketch challenge for this month. You could win a gift certificate to the store! We would love to see your wonderful cards.

Bits and Bobs #18

Hi and welcome to my blog! I want to show you another bits and bobs card I made. I love going through my stash and finding old things to use on my cards. I found a piece of canvas and dropped colors of Color Bursts over it and spritzed with water. When it dried I stamped some swirls around the edges using Teal Blue Staz On ink. I used Versa Mark ink to stamp the flower, sprinkled white embossing powder over it and heat set. Who knew that one could stamp so well on canvas! I used a piece of torn handmade paper that I had in my stash to place behind the canvas piece.  These were adhered to an embossed teal background. I also added some ribbon, a dragonfly charm and a few rhinestones from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will pull out some old things from your stash to see what you can make with them. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

One Layer Card

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. For some reason it is always a challenge for me to make a one layer card. But I am up for the challenge and today I want to show you one that I made.

I tapped three colors of Distress inks onto an acrylic block, spritzed it with water and stamped it on watercolor paper to make a background for my image. I used the Penny Black Soft Sculpture stamp to stamp over the background. I added the die cut word and a few sequins to the card. Simple! LOL!

Birthday Blowout!

Hi and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a birthday card I made using a Queen & Co. shaker card kit. I purchased some of these at a stamp show this summer and have just gotten around to using one. These are so much fun to make and the possibilities are endless.

I love using Color Bursts on birthday cards because they make the card look so festive! I punched out the balloon windows, used the template to trace the balloons on watercolor paper and cut them out so that I could lay my background over the windows and line them up properly. I had also bought the little polymer circles at the show to go into the windows. I added clear glitter and a little teal glitter in the windows also. I stamped the cute House Mouse stamp at the bottom, colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and added clear Stickles to the icing on the cupcake.

Here is a better picture showing the glitter.

A Colorful World

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a card I made using some of the great new Just For Fun stamps that have just been released. You can find all of them here.

On this card I used the CJ-Canning Jar LargePaint Brushes and Colorful and Happy stamps. The background was made by dropping Color Burst colors on watercolor paper and spritzing the colors lightly with water. I stamped the brushes onto the background and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. The metal areas were colored with a silver paint pen. The jar was stamped on acetate using Staz On ink and fussy cut. I adhered the jar over the brushes. You can see the shine on the left side of the jar. The saying was layered on red card stock for a border and adhered across the front.

There are so many things one can do with this jar stamp!

Bits and Bobs #17

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Labor Day weekend is the last hurrah of summer and around here everyone gets in that last beach trip! I am showing a beach Bits and Bobs card today that I made from things found in my stash of card making supplies. This image was already stamped and colored that I found in my image pile. The background was made by swiping the card stock through spritzed Distress inks. I used some old cream embossing powder that had some copper embossing powder mixed with it to depict the sand at the shoreline. I found the seashell cord and attached it to the bottom of the card. I knew I had this cord somewhere. I had not used it in a long time. I finally found it after looking in many bags! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I have inspired you to look through your stash of craft supplies to make your own Bits and Bobs card. Have a wonderful day!

I adhered it to the Spellbinders Bow Elegance die on the card front. I stamped the Just For Fun many thanks saying on the bottom front of the card and used white embossing powder on it. Fancy Fish

Hi Everyone! Welcome to y blog. I hope you are having a good day. I just love all the great stamptangle stamps we have at Just For Fun stamps. There are so many ways to use them and they have such a unique look. You can take a peek at them here. I decided to use the small Stamptangle Fancy Fish on this card. I found a new technique and thought the fish would go perfectly with it.

I used patterned paper and several pieces of different colors of card stock. I cut circles using Spellbinders Small Circles dies from each piece, each circle getting smaller. I layered all the card stock and patterned paper on top of each other to make a porthole. The fish was stamped, colored with markers, fussy cut and pop dotted to the card. I added green rhinestones to the fish and porthole for embellishment. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet. I stamped just part of the saying since it did not fit on the tag. Clear Stickles was added across the card for waves.

You still have a few days to join in the Just For Fun Hot Hot Hot challenge. You might even win a gift certificate to the store.

Flower Shaped Card

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I love shaped cards and you can make so many different shaped cards these days using all the wonderful dies out there. I made a flower shaped card using Spellbinders Blossom 3 dies. I placed the large flower die on red folded card stock and made sure the cutting edge was on the top of the fold so that when it was cut, the card would open. I cut 2 more smaller shapes using patterned paper and yellow paper.

I love the cute hedgehogs from Penny Black. I used this one from the Wonderful Day stamp set. I cut out the image using the Gina Marie Stitched Circle Die. I went around the stitching with a fine point Sharpie pen. This was pop dotted to the center of the card. The snail was also pop dotted to the card. The butterfly was cut using Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die and added to the bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Bits and Bobs #16

Hi! It is time for another bits and bobs card! I have a huge bag of rub ons that I have not used in ages. I pulled them out and while I had them out I made three cards with them. Rub ons are a great way to add flair to your card. On the first card I started with two different sheets of rub ons, but the sheet on the left must have been too old and it would not transfer. I wanted to use the music script. So I ended up using several of the rub ons on the sheet at the right.

The rub ons on this card are the swirls and two small butterflies at the top. After applying the rub ons I ran the card through an embossing folder. I found an oval piece of painted chipboard in my stash and stamped an old butterfly stamp on it. I added flowers and a ribbon scrap to make the bow. I don't think I have ever made a green and red card except for a Christmas card! This is why I like to make bits and bobs cards because you really don't go in with a plan and just try to match things as you go along, pulling things from your stash. You never really know how a card will turn out.

I have a hard time making simple cards because my thought is the "more the better!" Lol!  But I think this card came together pretty well. The flowers are rub ons. I found the cat in my image stash that I had already stamped on orange paper, so I pop dotted him to the card. Then I stamped a very old saying I have had for years.

Here is my last card. The circles are rub ons. I also found the typewriter in my image stash. I fussy cut it and pop dotted it on the card. Kids these days probably don't even know what a typewriter is. I got a portable one when I was in high school and I took it with me to college and used it a lot! Those were the days. Really old school!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my bits and bobs cards today. If you have any rub ons, pull them out and see what you can create with them. I had a lot of fun with mine.
