Just For Fun Challenge

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made for this month's Just For Fun challenge. The theme is to use more than one stamp. On my card I used the Collaged Row Houses and the 2 Sided Doodle Background/Frame sm. stamps.

First I stamped the Doodle background stamp to use as a moon. I then rubbed a little Micro Glaze over it to use as a resist. Next I patted Distress Oxide ink pads on my craft mat, spritzed them with water and dragged the watercolor paper through the inks. When the ink was dry I spritzed the background with water to show splatters. The Micro Glaze resisted the inks and stayed white.

I stamped the Houses stamp on various colors of card stock and cut them out to add to the card. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet.

I hope you will join us in the challenge. We would love to see your creations and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Sea Shaker Card

Hi! I am glad you stopped by today. The challenge theme at Just For Fun is Hot Hot Hot. A great way to get cool from the August heat is to hit the water. I made an underwater scene on my card using the Just For Fun medium Stamptangle Seahorse and two seashells from the Beach Unmounted Sheet.

This is also a shaker card. I splattered Oxide inks on white card stock, placed some aqua sequins on the card stock, added a piece of acetate on top and then adhered the aqua Sewn Frame, by Gina Marie, to the acetate window.

The seahorse was stamped onto an orange inked background and fussy cut. I stamped the seashells on cream card stock and colored some ares with a tan Zig water marker. These were also fussy cut.

I stamped the saying on kraft paper and made a banner.

I hope you are staying cool this August. I know I am enjoying my air conditioning! We were without air conditioning for 5 weeks in May and June! And then again for a few days when the roofers came and broke our new ac unit we had for only 2 weeks!!!

Please join in the challenge at Just For Fun. We would love to see all you wonderful creations and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Pretty Peony

Hi and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a card I made with this beautiful Peony stamp from Just For Fun stamps. I love flowers of all types, but it has been hard keeping my flowers alive outside in this summer heat! I have already had to replant two of my pots.

I love playing with my new Distress Oxide inks. I saw a different way to use them the other day and I had to try it on this flower. I stamped the flower on black card stock and heat embossed the flower using white embossing powder. I used the Oxide inks to paint the flower. I really like the look of the "paint." It shows up so well against the black background. Sequins, a bow and butterfly were added for embellishments.

We have a fun Wedding Time challenge going on this month at Just For Fun. We hope to see your wonderful creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store. Also check out all the wonderful flower stamps here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
