Technique Tuesday -- Liquid Pearls and Cling Wrap

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to Technique Tuesday at Sparkle N Sprinkle. I was in Spain the month of July. It was a fun trip. I am back in the saddle again and ready to show some more techniques each Tuesday! Sparkle N Sprinkle is now carrying Liquid Pearls in so many delightful colors. I decided to show a technique using them for this Tuesday. You can click here to see all the fabulous colors.

Supplies needed:

  1. cling wrap
  2. any color Liquid Pearls -- I used Daffodil
  3. any color dye ink to compiment the Liquid Pearls
  4. sponge
  5. heat tool -- optional
  6. white or cream card stock
  7. craft sheet

Take the bottle of Liquid Pearls and squeeze some onto the craft sheet.

Wad up a piece of cling wrap and pounce it in the paint, then pounce it all over the card stock. You can either let the paint air dry or heat it a little to speed up the drying time. It dries pretty quickly on its own.

The next step is to take your ink pad -- I used green ink -- and sponge ink all over the card stock until it is covered. Take a tissue and rub off any excess ink. That's it! It makes a neat shimmery background.

Here are a few more backgrounds I made using different color combinations. Have fun coming up with your own!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Tags of 2013 -- August

Hi Everyone,

I hope you have been having a good weekend. I have been crafting this weekend and made a tag for Tim Holtz's August tag challenge. He focused on masking this month. I have not used this technique in  awhile, so it was fun to play with it again. You can see his demo here.

Chillin'

Hi Everyone!

A good Monday to you. I hope your week has started off well. What better way to chill than to eat a big slice of cold, juicy watermelon? My husband road 80 miles on his bicycle yesterday. He always loves to have watermelon after a long ride. I couldn't resist using this little Happy Hopper House Mouse stamp. I don't know if you can see it well, but I embossed the patterned paper by Basic Grey ( Sweet Threads ) with Tim Holtz's sun rays embossing folder, colored the rays with copics and wet embossed the raised rays with Sparkle embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle, to give the rays some shimmer. I also used clear embossing powder on the watermelon. I enjoyed making the summery tag. Thanks so much for stopping by. may your day be filled with sunshine!

Lovely As A Rose

Hi Everyone!

I want to share a card I made recently with a new stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle called Rose Bouquet. I just love roses and wish I could grow them well, but I do not have the patience to baby them! I embossed the image with Silver Detail embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle and colored in the rose. A TIP to remember is to use an anti static bag over your card stock to keep the embossing powder from sticking to other places besides the image. I used an embossing folder to make the frame for the rose. The corners were punched and bling and ribbon was added for accent. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.

A Fun Trip

Hi Everyone!

If you have been following my blog you noticed that I haven't posted anything for a couple of weeks. My aunt and I went on a wonderful tour of Spain and Portugal and we just returned on Sunday! The trip was great except for delayed flights and lost luggage going and delayed flights returning. I am so thankful we had extra clothes and such on our carry - ons since we did not get our luggage until 3 days into our tour! Here are a few pictures of our trip.

Here we are "running" with the bulls! LOL!

Here is a majestic picture of the Rock of Gibraltar.

We attended a Flamenco show.

We walked on top of this modern building in Lisbon called the Metropol  Parasol.

I am hoping to get back to crafting real soon. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Independence Day

Happy Independence Day! I am so thankful that I live in the land of the free and the home of the brave! I want to thank all of those brave ones who have come before and those that are in the present who have sacrificed to keep our country free. God bless you and God bless America!

On my card today I used two stamp sets from Sparkle N Sprinkle -- Patriotic Background and Patriotic Icons. I used Cloud Nine velvet glitter on the stars, also courtesy of Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Thanks for stopping by. May you have a wonderful and safe 4th!

12 Tags of 2013 -- July

Hi and welcome to my blog! July 4th is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than to make a fun July 4th tag! I had fun using all the great techniques that Tim showed on his blog. I just love the crackle look on the stars using Rock Candy crackle paint and Distress stains.

I am thankful for all those who have and are sacrificing to keep our country free. We live in a great nation!
I hope each one of you have a wonderful and safe 4th!
