Glistening Snowflake

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good weekend. It is beautiful here. I am finishing up decorating for Christmas. I want to share a card that I made using the Sparkle N Sprinkle Music Scrap and Western Tanager stamps. The frame was made by using the Leaf Swirl stamp in the Stamping Gear. I fussy cut the frame and pop dotted it onto the card. I appreciate the time you have taken to stop by today. Have a good one!

Technique Tuesday -- Stamped Layers Card

Hi and welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle Technique Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. At my local stamp club this month we learned a technique that has become popular recently in card making. I have made quite a few cards using this technique and I would like to show it to you today. Normally you would do this technique using layers of cut card stock like Marie's card below, but I decided to use Spellbinders Nesties dies for my layers on this card.

Supplies needed:

1. Spellbinders Nesties dies -- I used Big Scalloped Squares
2. small stamps or a background stamp -- I used Ivy Background 1831-329R
3. Versa Mark ink 99702 or any colored ink
4. embossing powder -- I used Pear Star embossing powder EP432
5. removable tape
6. heat gun

First cut out the white pieces that you will stamp on from the nesties dies. Then cut out the background pieces out of the nesties dies. Mine are purple. Take the white pieces and stack them on top of each other using removable tape.  This helps them to stay in place while you are stamping.

Using the Versa Mark ink, ink up your background stamp and stamp over the nesties stack starting on one side and then the other so as to cover the whole stack. You can use individual smaller stamps too and just randomly stamp  over the stack. If you do not want to use embossing powder, then just use colored ink to stamp.

Now pour the embossing powder over the whole surface where you stamped and heat powder with a heat gun.

Carefully peel off the layers and adhere the color background to each piece.

You can also cut smaller layers and stagger them as Marie has done with her card here below.

A Shiny Christmas

Hi Everyone! I hope you have been enjoying the weekend. Some of you had a long holiday and I hope it was a good one! It has been beautiful here except it has gotten quite a bit colder. I decided to show this card that I made using the Sparkle N Sprinkle Snowflake Medallion.  It goes right along with the colder weather we have had these last few days! I bought some new shimmer sheetz recently and I just HAD to use one on this card. I ran it through an embossing folder and since the sheet has a silver core,  I sanded the raised areas to have the silver show through! Well, it's that time again to start Christmas decorating. Some of you might have yours done already. This card has put me in the mood, so I am hoping to get some decorating done this week. Thanks for stopping by. Christmas Giving

Hello! I am glad you stopped by my blog today. I want to show you a card that I made for a few challenges. At Magnolia-liciuos the challenge is a picture inspiration and glitter. Isn't this a neat picture? I used Waterscape glitter form Sparkle N Sprinkle on Tilda's dress, swirls and flower. It was fun to use a Magnolia stamp again. I loved coloring Tilda.

Hi Everyone! I am so thankful to have been blessed with so much this year. I am thankful for all that God has done. Technique Tuesday -- Coloring on Glitter Using Outline Stickers

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle Technique Tuesday! If you hopped a long with us on our Winter Wonderland Blog Hop last week you might remember seeing this card I made where I colored on glitter using outline stickers.  I want to show you how I did this because this would look great on all those Christmas cards you are making!

Supplies needed:

1. 2  1/2 inch wide Tear - ific Tape SAT11
2. Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter GM2000
3. copic markers or water based markers
4. outline stickers
5. white card stock
6. Dove Blender pen  99535 if using water based markers

Adhere a strip of the Tear-ific Tape to one side of your white card base.  Peel off the protective cover and add Cloud Nine glitter.  Peel off stickers and add them over the glitter and color inside the stickers. I used copic markers .  Start with a color around the edges of the sticker and use the blender pen to pull the color into the image. This helps it look more dimensional.  Then you might want to go in again and use a little darker color in some areas.

Here is the finished piece.

I also tried coloring with water based markers and they worked well also.   I started coloring with the lighter shade of blue first.

Then I added a darker blue around some of the edges and used the Dove Blender pen to blend the darker color into the lighter color.

I did the same with the orange on his belly.
