Technique Tuesday -- Shaving Cream

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Technique Tuesday! I am a little behind today. My son had outpatient surgery and had some problems and he had to be put in a hospital room. So the last couple of days have been hectic. We are thankful he is doing fine now. I know a lot of you have seen this technique but you may not have tried it. It is a lot of fun and it makes your cards smell good too! I used this technique in two ways.

    Sparkle N Sprinkle blog

Supplies needed:
  1. foamy shaving cream -- not the gel kind
  2. 2-3 colors re - inkers
  3. toothpick or end of paint brush
  4. white matte cardstock -- also can use glossy
  5. paper plate or tray
  6. small piece of cardboard or old credit card
Spray a glob of shaving cream onto the plate and drop a few drops of re-inkers onto the shaving cream.  I used a magenta and a pink.

Swirl the colors around just a little with a toothpick or the end of a small paint brush.

Next lay your cardstock on top of the shaving cream and pat it down gently with your fingers.

Lift off the cardstock and scrape off the shaving cream with a small piece of cardboard or an old credit card.

I just love the pretty swirls this makes! I wanted to make the ice cream on this cone look like strawberry swirl, so I stamped the ice cream cone onto the shaving cream cardstock, cut out the ice cream section and pop dotted it onto the cone.

Here are a few more samples of other colors I used.

Here is another card I made using red and green for Christmas.  I used this as a background on this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy playing! Have a great day.
