Bits and Bobs #19

Hi and welcome to my blog! Autumn is my favorite season. I love the colors, smells and crisp air! I only wish it would last longer. I made an Autumn card for my bits and bobs card today. I used some fun material called wire or copper mesh. I have not used this in ages and found some that was already heated and stickers applied to it. I found the wire mesh at Hobby Lobby I think in the wood section. To make this product more interesting, you take a heat gun and heat it and it will turn gold and blue in some areas! Place outline stickers over it and cut them out to use as embellishments as I have done with the leaf stickers here.

I had this image already stamped on glossy card stock in my image stash. I matted it to black card stock and then added it to the cream card base. I then adhered the leaves and label with the saying.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a lovely day!

A Butterfly Hello

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made today using some metals and background stamps.

The butterfly was made by heating copper mesh with a heat gun to give it various colors. I then adhered a gold outline butterfly sticker to the copper mesh and fussy cut it. The "hello" is a metal charm that I colored with a teal Sharpie marker. I used Distress ink to dye my ribbon to match.

I made the background by using two Impression Obsession Cover A Card stamps -- Butterflies CC061 and Textural Dots CC016. I stamped these on some light patterned paper. Here is a close up to see the background better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Bountiful Blessings

Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day. It has turned quite cold here. I guess it is about time! I want to share the tag I made for Tim Holtz's tag challenge for November. November is the time to count our blessings and we sure have plenty to be thankful for. Can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here?

Tim shared a chalkboard technique that has a little twist to the normal chalkboard technique. You can see it by clicking here.

I used the Sparkle N Sprinkle Pumpkin Stack and saying from the Fall Harvest set. The leaves are from Inkadinkado and the script stamp is a Hero Arts stamp.

The leaf at the top of the tag was made by heating copper mesh with a heat gun. The mesh turns beautiful colors. Then I adhered an outline leaf sticker to the mesh and cut it out. You can see a better picture of it here.  See the pretty colors the copper turns?

I pop dotted the bottom pumpkin on the pumpkin stack as well as the label with the saying. To color the label and tag edge, I swiped Distress Inks on my craft sheet, spritzed them with water and placed the tag and label in the inks and rubbed them around. I always love the blended look of this technique.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!
