Patterned Paper #19

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am showing another card where I used my patterned paper scraps. With all these patterned paper cards I have made I still have not made a dent in my scrap papers! LOL! I love this time of year with all the wonderful Fall colors. I hope that the trees will be pretty around here this year.

I found this frame from Memory Box that I had already cut out. I punched the leaves from various patterned paper scraps. The saying is from Just For Fun Stamps and the owl stamps are from Darcie. The owls were colored using alcohol markers.

Thanks so much for popping in. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Patterned Paper #16

Hi and welcome to my blog. We have come to the end of Summer and the kids are back in school here! Where did Summer go? It still feels like Summer so I used this cute penguin, wearing his wave swim trunks, on my card today. I would love a bite of his popsicle, LOL!

I found another way to use up my patterned paper scraps. I used a one inch circle punch to punch out circles from various patterned paper scraps. I made a border with them on the bottom half of the card. I first placed wide double sided tape at the bottom of the card and laid the circles on top. This made the placements of the circles much easier. The image and saying (unknown) were pop dotted to the card. The stitched circle die is from Gina Marie.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and stay cool!

Love Is In The Air!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a Valentine card I made. I can't believe that Valentine's Day will be here soon!  At Just For Fun they have so many wonderful stamps to use for this special day. You can see them here.

I used one of the Postal Hearts on this card. I embossed it using black embossing powder, colored it using alcohol markers and fussy cut it to fit over the heart embossed Spellbinder die. I added a punched border, ribbon, cord and silver enamel dots for embellishment.

You still have time to join in the challenge this month. The theme is to use blue and silver. We hope to see you there!

Have a great day!

We Three Kings

Hello and Merry Christmas! I hope your Christmas is full of love, joy and peace.

The stamp I used on this card is the 3 Wise Men on Camels by Just For Fun Stamps. I stamped it using green ink and cut it out using a Spellbinders oval die. This was adhered to the fancy Ellentina die. The white background was embossed using a distressed stripe embossing folder. The edges were sponged using brown ink and then layered on a green card base. A Tim Holtz punch was used for the greenery and a paper poinsettia was added at the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed Christmas!

Christmas Is Near!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! I want to show you a card I made with a brand new Christmas tree stamp from Just For Fun Stamps called Skinny Tree.

I stamped the tree six times on different patterned papers, leaving the trunk on the middle one. I fussy cut them and adhered them to the card. The "snow" at the bottom of the card was made by using a swirl punch. I added silver star stickers on the top of each tree.

There is still time to join in this month's challenge, using red, orange and brown colors. We hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Happy Halloween!

Hi Everyone! Are you ready for the little ghosts and goblins coming on Halloween? We only have about 4 or 5 to come to our door. I wish we had more! I love seeing the little ones dressed up in their cute costumes.

I have used two brand new Just For Fun stamps that will be up on the web site soon! I colored the image using alcohol markers, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card. The background is some fun Halloween paper I had in my stash. I also stamped the bat twig stamp beside the image. I made black goop on the patterned paper by using a Martha Stewart punch!

You still have a few days to join in our Halloween challenge. A random chosen winner will receive a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Halloween!

Blessed

Hi and welcome to my blog. Each month I have been trying to make several Christmas cards so that I won't be crunched when the Christmas season comes. I want to show you a Christmas card I made using a beautiful Penny Black stamp called Xmas Light. I have had this stamp for many years and I still love using it.

I stamped on kraft paper and colored with colored pencils. Colored pencils work so well on the kraft paper. After I colored I distressed the edges of the paper and crumbled it a bit. I added greenery by using a punch and the "berries" are polymer dots. I found the word, blessed, on a sheet of kraft colored stickers and added it to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a blessed day!

Alcohol Ink Lift

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have been experimenting with the alcohol ink lift technique and I love the look! On this card I used Yupo paper and did the polished stone technique first using alcohol inks. I made my own "lift" ink to lift off the alcohol inks already applied. I found an old Versa Mark ink pad and spritzed it with 91% alcohol and it worked great! I took the butterfly stamp (stamp unknown) and tapped it a few times onto the ink pad and then stamped it on my alcohol background. The ink lifted off the alcohol ink colors and left the butterfly impression. I also used a stencil at the bottom of the piece and sponged the ink over it. This also lifted off the colors to leave the stencil impression.

I added a blue velvet ribbon across the card. I used the Fancy Frame Tag die from Spellbinders, cut it in half and adhered the pieces on either side of the card. Silk flowers and punched leaves were also added. I used a Stampin' Up splatter stamp on the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Shabby Chic #14

Hi and welcome to my blog! Today I am showing another shabby chic card using bits and pieces from my stash.

I found the lamp stamp in a bag of images that came from a swap that I was in a few years ago! The stamp is unknown. I colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and placed it in the frame that was cut using the Memory Box Botanical Frame die. I placed the frame on top of a torn page that came from an old book. The edges were sponged using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I used a large round punch for the Sparkle N Sprinkle saying. Buttons, ribbon and lace were added for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

A Bouquet of Wishes

Hello! I hope you are having a good day. I made another shaped card, this time using a flowerpot shape. I stamped, colored and fussy cut these pretty Cone Daisies from Just For Fun Stamps to add to the pot.

I used a leaf punch for the leaves and the saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet. I cut the saying in half so that it would fit on the tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by. The challenge this month at Just For Fun is to make a shaped card. We would love to see your cards. I hope you will join in the fun with us.

Have a great day!

Just For Fun Challenge

Another month has quickly passed and we are now in June! Time really flies. At Just For Fun  the challenge for this month is to make a shaped card. I made my card into a birdhouse and used the Just For Fun small Fashion Warbler. I stamped the bird and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the bird using Zig watercolor markers and then fussy cut it. The birdhouse was run through a wood embossing folder. I swiped dark brown Distress ink over the raised areas. The leaf die is Fresh Foliage from Memory Box. I used the saying from the Sentiments 3 umounted sheet and cut it in two so that it would fit in the circle.

We hope that you will join in our new challenge. We would love to see all of your fun shaped cards. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Fractured Sky

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. I was not sure how to name this card. You can see why I called it Fractured Sky. I found this background in my stash where I had stamped the Just For Fun Broken Mosaic background stamp on watercolor paper and added clear embossing powder. I then dropped various colors of Distress inks into the open spaces and let them blend together using my water pen. Next I stamped the Skyline Silhouette stamp on white card stock using blue ink and fussy cut it. This stamp reminds me of the New York City skyline and the song New York! I pop dotted that to the background. I found the balloon embellishment in my stash and adhered it to a blue circle punched backing.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Please join the Just For Fun challenge this month which is to use more than one stamp! We would love to see your creations! Have a great day!

Flourish Wreath

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I hope all you mothers had a great Mother's Day. I sure did. My boys pulled all the stops! We had a great day together.

Recently I was playing with the wreath builder template using the Just For Fun  Flourish from the Stamptangle Cube. This is the card I made with it.

You can see how this wreath builder system works by looking up wreath builder on line. There are several different videos that show how to use it. I just love how this stamp works so well with it. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet.

I used blue and green Oxide inks on my stamp and alternated the colors as I went around.

Remember that Just For Fun has a challenge going on. We would love for you to join in. You can see all the details here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

I Scream For Ice Cream!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. This is such a cute House Mouse stamp with the bunnies eating ice cream. I see that one has already had his fill! Ice cream is my all time favorite dessert! I eat it even during the cold winter. Strawberry season is just about here in my area so wouldn't strawberry homemade ice cream be a wonderful treat?

I used two different patterned papers for my background and added ribbons and a punched butterfly. The image was colored using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I cut the image out using the Spellbinders Labels 4 die. I also added parts of Heartfelt Creations Raindrops On Roses die at the corners of the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

A Rose is a Rose ........

Hello! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card featuring this beautiful rose stamp by Just For Fun Stamps. My dad had a beautiful rose garden for many years. He really babied them and we had such gorgeous roses from his labor. However, I am not one that is good with plants, so I am glad there are now Knock Out roses that I don't have to care for as much! LOL!

The background on this card is rose patterned paper that I layered onto a dotted patterned paper. I also used the dotted paper to punch the border. I stamped and fussy cut the Notebook Scrap and then I stamped the Long Script stamp on it. The rose was colored with colored pencils and Gamsol and also fussy cut. Everything was put together on a white card base and then the edges were sponged with brown Distress ink.

We would love for you to join in this month's challenge. The theme for this challenge is flowers. We would love to see what you make!

Butterfly in Pink

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made using an Inkadinkado butterfly stamp. The butterfly was part of a scene, so I fussy cut it to stand alone on this card. I colored it using white and pink Liquid Pearls to give it a bit of shimmer. I used pearls for the butterfly's body.

The pink circle was made using a Martha Stewart butterfly corner punch. I stamped a script stamp on the pink and white circle backgrounds. Enamel dots and pearls were added randomly on the card. I haven't used fibers in a long time. I rummaged through my fiber bag and found some to make a bow with.

The light pink background was made by using a resist technique. I pounced plastic wrap into white Liquid Pearls and then pounced it on white card stock. When it dried I sponged over the card stock with pink Distress ink. The Liquid Pearls acted as a resist.

A Mousie Christmas!

Hi and welcome to my blog. Each month I try to make at least three Christmas cards so that by Christmas they are all made. I have been doing this for three years now and boy has it helped with the stress near the season! I want to show you a card I just made using this cute House Mouse stamp!

The background is patterned paper. I cut a circle using the Spellbinders Small Circle die and placed a woodgrain panel that I made behind it. I then stamped the Merry Christmas saying form Inkadinkado. I stamped the stokings and paper pieced them using burlap patterned paper. They were fussy cut and pop dotted to the card. I used a Tim Holtz punch for the greenery and added the poinsettia.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Feel Better Soon

Hi! I hope you are doing well and haven't caught the flu bug. I made a get well card because it seems like the flu is really bad this year. I followed the challenge theme at Just For Fun for this month and used one of their many silhouette stamps. This one is called Favorite Spot. Speaking of a favorite spot, my three cats love looking out the window too. Sometimes all three are in the same window IF they are feeling tolerant of each other at the time! LOL! I have several bird feeders they like to watch.

I stamped the image on blue inked card stock, fussy cut it and added it to patterned paper. I used some lighter brown flocking on the cat. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

I hope you will join the Just For Fun challenge this month. We would love to see your wonderful creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Hi and welcome to my blog! Just For Fun is having a new challenge this month and the theme is silhouettes. Just For Fun has many silhouette stamps to choose from. I chose to use the Couple at the River's Edge stamp on my card since Valentine's Day will be here soon.

I stamped the image onto white card stock and used the saying from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet. I added punched hearts to the trees and a ribbon at the bottom.

Don't forget to join in the challenge and you might win a gift certificate to the store! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Make A Wish

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a birthday card I made using a Penny Black stamp from the Critter Party stamp set. I had fun making this card from bits and pieces in my stash.

I colored the image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The purple frame is an svg. I stamped the image and cut it out with the Gina Marie Stitched Oval die. I added a punched border to either side of the card and used several layers of colored card stock to go with the patterned paper. Stickles Glitter was added to the candle flame and to the cupcake.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
