Patterned Paper #19

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am showing another card where I used my patterned paper scraps. With all these patterned paper cards I have made I still have not made a dent in my scrap papers! LOL! I love this time of year with all the wonderful Fall colors. I hope that the trees will be pretty around here this year.

I found this frame from Memory Box that I had already cut out. I punched the leaves from various patterned paper scraps. The saying is from Just For Fun Stamps and the owl stamps are from Darcie. The owls were colored using alcohol markers.

Thanks so much for popping in. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Just For Fun July Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog! We are having a fun challenge over at Just For Fun Stamps. We hope that you will join in. The theme is "At The Shoreline."

This is the card I made that follows the challenge theme.

I used a background I had made with Distress Oxide inks and placed it behind the Spellbinders small circle cutout. The cattails from Memory Box were added inside the circle. I stamped the Blue Heron stamp beside the circle and lightly colored with alcohol inks. The saying was stamped onto the blue background. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet. I used Gina Marie's stitched rectangle die for a frame and pop dotted it on white card stock. Sequins were added for sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Just For Fun June Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. As a design team member for Just For Fun Stamps I am hosting this month's challenge to use a stencil! I love working with stencils because there are so many ways to use them on a project. For example you can sponge through them, use stencil pastes, stamp through them, use them with the gelli plates and so much more! I would love to see what you do with them.

I must say when I use this '57 Chevy stamp I always think of my dad. I remember the long trips we took each summer in his '56 Chevy to go visit my grandparents. We also traveled Route 66 for awhile on the way!

I made a retro background by rotating a stencil. The picture below shows the original look of the stencil.

First I sponged on Wild Honey Distress ink.

Then I turned the stencil a one quarter turn and sponged using Aged Mahogany Distress ink.

This is such a fun way to use a stencil. You never know what look you will get. I then used the Spellbinders Labels 4 die to cut out a shape from this piece.

I stamped the Open Highway background stamp and cut and colored the Route 66 sign and pop dotted it to the card.

I also stamped the City Skyline stamp behind the shape.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that you will join in this challenge and let us see all the creative ways you use a stencil!

Have a wonderful day!

Just Flyin' By

Hello! Today I am showing you a card that I made using the Fashion Warbler stamp from Just For Fun Stamps and a flower stencil. This is my favorite bird stamp. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love birds!

For the background I used a stencil that had several flowers on it and I sponged over the stencil using purple, yellow and orange ink. I then layed other design stencils over the top of each flower and sponged with a darker color of ink to give the flowers more interest.

I stamped the bird, colored it with alcohol markers, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope your day is great!

Patterned Paper #10

Hi! I hope you are enjoying your day! I am showing another way to use up those scrap papers we all have lying around. Today I made a birthday cake using my scraps.

I used a corner rounder to round the edges of the papers. The flames on the candles were diamonds cut from the yellow patterned paper that I used for the top layer of the cake. The cat stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle was stamped, colored with alcohol markers, fussy cut and added to the card. I made a banner from blue card stock and stamped the saying from Penny Black.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Warm Wishes

Hi and welcome to my blog! It is warming up nicely here in South Carolina and it makes me think of Charleston and the beach! My son lives in Charleston so we are able to visit the beach quite often. Also Hubby loves to deep sea fish and has recently caught many. Yum!

I had fun making this card. I used the Tri Circle frame from Just For Fun Stamps and used the technique of paper piecing with it. I always love the look of this technique.
The playful dolphins were stamped on the large circle and colored with alcohol markers. The saying is from the Sentiments 2 unmounted sheet.

You can check out all the fun beach stamps at Just For Fun, here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a nice day!

I have made a Spring card using a Penny Black stamp. I just love this cute hedgehog. He looks like he is in a hurry to deliver some Spring flowers!

I stamped and colored the image using alcohol markers and some glitter markers for the flowers' centers. The image was cut out using the Gina Marie stitched circle die. I cut a butterfly using a Cheery Lynn die and added rhinestones on the body. Sequins were added to the card for interest.

I cut each scrap into a banner and placed the pieces in a circle. I punched out a circle from another piece of patterned paper, stamped the saying (unknown) and adhered it to the center of the wreath.

I stamped the cute Creative Vision cat, colored it with alcohol markers, fussy cut it and adhered it to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Patterned Paper Series #1

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that the new year will hold many blessings for you.

For the past few years I have had a running series on my blog. Last year was shabby chic. I have tons of paper scraps as I know most of us do! I will never use up all the pieces, but I am hoping I can make a little dent in my stash with this patterned paper series this year. I hope to find different ways to use patterned papers on my cards.

Today I made a card with snowflake dies using three different blue patterned papers from my stash. The dies I used are the Build A Snowflake 5 dies from Spellbinders.

I stamped the cute penguin from Inkadinkado, colored him with alcohol markers, fussy cut him and pop dotted him to the card. I used a swirl stamp behind the sled to show motion and added glitter over it. Rhinestones were added to the centers of some of the snowflakes.

Thanks so much for stoppng by. I will be posting my patterned paper ideas every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month!

Have a great day!

Shabby Chic #23

Hi Everyone! Christmas is approaching fast! I want to show you a shabby chic shaker card that I made. I have been making more shaker cards lately and love them. They are so much fun!

I made the card shape using the Precious Marieke flowers frame background and sponged brown ink around the edges. The white flower frame goes with it. I then cut a pink frame using a frame die from Nellie Sellen. Lastly, I cut a white circle using the Gina Marie stitched circle die. The snowman stamp is from Inkadinkado. The image was colored using alcohol inks. The saying is from Just For Fun Stamps. Flowers, ribbon and pearls were used for accents. I used plastic snowflakes and clear sugar beads inside the shaker.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that you are enjoying the Christmas season. Have a wonderful day!

Tis The Season

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a fun card I made using this cute snowman from Just For Fun Stamps. Doesn't he look jolly?

I made the background by cutting a strip of fun foam, adhering it to an acrylic block and stamping it in various angles using oxide inks. I used a dotted swiss embossing folder at the top and bottom of the card to add interest. I colored the snowman using alcohol markers, fussy cut him and added him to the card. The saying is from a Die Versions die. I also added 3 sticker snowflakes and hot pink rhinestones.

This month the challenge is to make any holiday card. I hope you will join us and you might win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a jolly day!

Warming Up!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope that you are enjoying the Christmas season. It has been unusually cold here in the South for this time of year. I made a card with this cute little mousie warming IN a cup of cocoa! LOL! I have been enjoying my cups of cocoa lately.

I used the Gina Marie dotted die for the background and cut it using metallic blue card stock. I stamped the image, colored it with alcohol markers and fussy cut it. I used the stem of a flower die for the "steam" in the cup. The white bottom portion of the card was run through a snowflake die. The greenery is a Gina Marie die cut from green card stock. I splattered white acrylic paint over the greenery and cup for snow. I made "marshmallows" using 4 pop dots and adding white sparkle flocking to them. You can see one marshmallow in the cup and 3 on the greenery.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and warm day!

Shabby Chic #22

Hi and welcome to my blog! Even though the Christmas season is fast approaching I am showing one more Fall card. I made this shabby chic card using Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps and made a Fall wreath. I cut the wreath out using the Gina Marie Stitched Circle die, sponged the edges with brown ink and filled in the "stitching" using a brown marker.

I colored the bird, by Dina Wakely, using alcohol markers. I stamped a script stamp on the gold card stock background, ran kraft card stock through a weave embossing folder and swiped a dark brown ink pad over the raised areas. Silk leaves and a bow were added for embellishment. The edges of the background and "Hello" were also sponged with brown ink.

I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful day!
