Garden Pots

Hi! I am sharing a card I made using the Windowsill Garden Pots stamp from Just For Fun Stamps. I am not much of a gardener, but I love flowers. I have taken to planting my annuals in pots. For me they are easier to plant this way and to keep alive!

For the background on this card I used two different green patterned papers and the top one was also embossed with an embossing folder. I stamped the image on white card stock and cut it out using the Gina Marie Stitched Oval die. I colored the pots with Spectrum Noir alcohol inks. I added Flower Soft to the flowers and used Diamond Glaze on the middle pot. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

You still have time to join this month's challenge. The theme is flowers. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Have a great day!

Altered Dies #9

Hi Everyone! I have another altered die card to show you today. You might remember that I showed this card a few months ago. I entered it into some challenges then, but today I want to show you how I altered the die on it.

I started with this Cheery Lynn Lattice Valance die and cut off each end.

I added Sparkle N Sprinkle's  Blackened Bronze embossing powder to it and turned it upside down to make it look like the top of an iron gate!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how the gate was made using this valance die. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Flower Garden

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying your day. I made a card with a stamp that I have not used in awhile. It is the Colonial Spring stamp from Impression Obsession K1006. I stamped it on glossy card stock using Jet Black Staz On ink. Then I used Rub On's to color the scene.  I added yellow and red flower soft to the flowers. Part of the Cheery Lynn Lattice Valance Border die was used at the bottom of the card. I used Blackened Bronze embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle to make it look like an iron gate.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Planting Season

Hi Everyone! It is a beautiful day here. I made this card with Impression Obsession stamps (listed below) that remind me that I need to go buy plants for my pots real soon! My pansies are still looking great, but I know they won't last too long as it heats up here. This is also a Mother's Day card for my MIL. For many years we would go to her house on Mother's Day and help her plant flowers in her big flower box on the patio and by the side of her house. She is now in the hospital and will be going to a nursing home soon. We will have good memories of all the beautiful flowers that were blooming at her house each year.

I went outside my box and made this card using a large die to create a different shape.  I fussy cut the flowers, added Flower Soft to the leaves, added glitter to the flowers and pop dotted one of the flower bunches over the others. The background was made by using two large background stamps, paisley and crackle, than stamping the large flourish in the corner. The butterfly is from Cheery Lynn.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Technique Tuesday -- Stencils and Embossing Powders

Hi Everyone and Happy Mother's Day! If you are a mother I hope your day is very special.  Today I made a Mother's Day card for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Technique Tuesday, using a fun technique for the background. I don't think you will stop at one!

Supplies needed:
  1. white or cream card stock
  2. stencils brass or plastic -- I used plastic
  3. ink sprays
  4. Versa Mark ink pad
  5. sponge
  6. glittery embossing powders
  7. water spritzer
  8. paper towel
  9. embossing buddy
  10. heat tool
Spray your card stock with several colors.

Spritz some water over the colors to blend a little more.

Blot card stock with a paper towel, lay a stencil over the card stock and spray a color over the stencil. I used a white pearl on this one to give a subtle look.

Continue to lay stencils over the card stock and spray different colors, some dark and some light.

Now use the embossing buddy to swipe over the card stock. This will keep the embossing powder from sticking where you do not want it!

Now lay a stencil over your background and sponge Versa Mark ink over the openings of the stencil.

Add embossing powder and heat with a heat tool.

Keep doing this as much or as little as you want. Now you have a neat and shimmery background.

Here are some others I made. I chose the last one to use on my card above.

I hope you will have fun playing with this technique. There are so many possibilities with this. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
