Leaf Fold Card

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am always looking for fun and different cards to make and when I stumbled on to this card on line I just had to try it! It is called a leaf fold card.

Here is the card opened on the front to reveal a saying under the "leaf."

Here is the inside of the card.

I used an 8  1/2" x  4  1/4" piece of patterned paper and followed these instructions here --

I hope you enjoy making this as much as I did. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Hot Days of Summer

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying your day. These August days sure are hot and I am so looking forward to Fall! I want to share a card I made using hot simmering colors of Summer. I used my new Color Burst powders and made the red flowers free hand for the background.

I cut the cute hedgehog by Penny Black using the Spellbinders Labels 4 die. The butterfly is from the Exotic Butterfly die set by Cheery Lynn.

I love using these shiny polymer glue dots to add interest to my cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!

Summertime

Hi Everyone! I hope you are keeping cool. I love summer, but like to stay inside with the air on on these very hot days. What I like about summer are pretty flowers, butterflies and daylight savings time! The white on my card reminds me of the extra hour of daylight! While making this card I was reminded of the old tune, "In the Good Old Summer Time." So here is my summer card using punches, pearls and dies!

I used the Flower Cheery Lynn die and cut from white glitter paper for the background of the image. The butterfly is also a Cheery Lynn die and my favorite! I made the square frame using a Martha Stewart corner and border punch. Here is a close up where you can see the sparkle better on the flower die.

TIP:  I love making white on white cards and to make the details show more I use pop dots to lift some layers. This adds depth and dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

The Earth Laughs In Flowers

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a card I made using a Hero Arts stamp that I really like but I have not used much. Since it is Spring this is the perfect time to use it. I stamped it with green chalk ink and added this wonderful saying from Emerson. I have really enjoyed seeing all the flowers blooming in my area when I take a walk.

I used Cheery Lynn dies -- French Lattice and Exotic Butterfly. I got the inspiration for my card from this picture at Shabby Tea Room.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Distress Embossing

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I have had so much fun playing with techniques these last few months. I still have more to show, old and new! Here is a new one I tried recently that I saw online. I am calling it Distress Embossing. I also got to use my new bird stamp from Ranger on this card too!

Here are supplies you will need:

colored card stock
embossing folder
embossing powder -- I used gold on this
Versa Mark ink pad
heat tool
sanding block

I used a die and cut from green card stock. You do not have to do this. You can use a whole front of a card if you want. Take the Versa Mark ink pad and pat is all over the card stock.

Now add the embossing powder all over the card stock and shake off excess.

The card stock will look like this.

Apply heat with the heat tool to melt the embossing powder and it will look shiny like this.

Run this through an embossing folder.

Now take the sanding block and rub it over the raised areas on the card stock. The colored card stock will show through and give it a distressed look.

Here are some more I made using silver and white embossing powders and colored card stock. There are many combinations. I hope you have fun playing! Have a great day!

My Favorite Color is October

Hi Everyone! I am back again with another Fall card. I love this saying and I DO love the colors of Autumn. I am hoping the leaves will be real pretty here this year. I made this card using a pre-made card base. I loved using the newWisps of Autumn stamps 647  from Sparkle N Sprinkle on it.

I used a die to cut decorative corners, patted them with a Versa Mark ink pad and added Sienna embossing powder EP425 to them.

I also used Sienna EP425 on the scallops on the card front and on the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die behind the saying. The image was stamped using Antiquities embossing powder EP266 and Brown Fizz EP381, Pear Star EP432 andSienna EP425 embossing powders were used on the image.  I used Spellbinders Labels 4 dies to cut out the saying and edged the label with Antiquities embossing powder.

On the inside I used the saying from the Fancy Butterflies set 437 and cut it out using Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 die and layered it over the Spellbinders sm. Ovals die that I cut out of green card stock. For full instructions on how to make this card please click here.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Sunshiny Day

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. It is very sunshiny here today. My title reminds me of the song "it's a bright, bright sunshiny day!" Now I will be singing it the rest of the day. LOL! I want to share a card I made for a few challenges and at All Sorts the challenge is to use sunshiny colors. I just love these bright colors together. I loved using the Penny Black hedgehog from the Wonderful Day stamp set.

The flowers, butterfly and frame are all Cheery Lynn dies. I love to embellish so these dies really add a lot to a card.

Stickles Black Diamond glitter glue was used on the hedgehog and flower center.

Thank you so much for dropping by today. I hope your day is super!

Beautiful Day

Hi Everyone! It has been a beautiful day here today. I just love this saying stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle. At Joan's Touch the challenge is to make a twisted easel card. I have never made one before, so I thought I would try it. I was surprised at how easy it was to make. I had fun with it! You can see how to make it here.

The frame is a Spellbinders die and the butterfly is a Cheery Lynn die. I stamped the leaves on brown card stock and cut them out. The small butterflies is a stamp from Hero Arts. The pink border is ribbon with pearls intertwined.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Stand Up Card

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. This afternoon we had some showers that we really needed. It is fitting then that my card has a "rainy" image on it! I made this stand up card that Joan at Joan's Touch demoed on her blog. I have never made one of these before and I enjoyed making it. The challenge on her blog is to make one of these type cards. You basically cut out most of the image and fold back the card so that it stands on its own. You can see how to make it here. The card folds flat so that you can send it nicely in an envelope.

I made some roses to add to the card. Here is a close up. The leaf die is from Memory Box and the butterfly die is from Cheery Lynn.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day is wonderful!

Road Trip

Hi Everyone!  Now that the days are warmer and sunny,  it is time for a road trip! I can think of plenty of places I would like to go.  This new stamp set -- Travel Mixed Media 607  from Sparkle N Sprinkle -- is perfect for a road trip card.

I had this piece of patterned paper with the USA map on it. What a perfect piece! I cut an oval out of it using a die. On a blue piece of card stock, I stamped and embossed the road map using Teddy Brown embossing powder EP187. I pop dotted the USA map over the road map. I outlined the USA map using Glisten embossing powder EP135. The mail postage stamp at the top of the card is also in the Travel Media set.

I used the car from the Surfin' Woody set 456 and the saying is from the Bicycle set 494.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Sunshiny Day!

Hi Everyone! We have had wonderful sunshiny days here recently! I am loving it! I want to share a card I made depicting a sunny day. Watermelon is so good on a hot summer's day. Even though it is still Spring it feels like summer this week. We have had temps in the 90's! Isn't this little rabbit by House Mouse so cute?

Over at Simon Says Stamp the challenge is to use 5 things on your card. Well, this was a challenge for me because I tend to use a lot more than 5 things on a card! Here I used 3 dies, an embossing folder and a bow -- all my favorite things! At Joan's Gardens the challenge is to use butterflies, an embossing folder and a sentiment. The sentiment was computer generated. I think I covered all the requirements for both! LOL!

This was such a fun card to make. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope your day is sunny and bright!

Planting Season

Hi Everyone! It is a beautiful day here. I made this card with Impression Obsession stamps (listed below) that remind me that I need to go buy plants for my pots real soon! My pansies are still looking great, but I know they won't last too long as it heats up here. This is also a Mother's Day card for my MIL. For many years we would go to her house on Mother's Day and help her plant flowers in her big flower box on the patio and by the side of her house. She is now in the hospital and will be going to a nursing home soon. We will have good memories of all the beautiful flowers that were blooming at her house each year.

I went outside my box and made this card using a large die to create a different shape.  I fussy cut the flowers, added Flower Soft to the leaves, added glitter to the flowers and pop dotted one of the flower bunches over the others. The background was made by using two large background stamps, paisley and crackle, than stamping the large flourish in the corner. The butterfly is from Cheery Lynn.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day.
