Happy 4th!

I hope you have had a good weekend. I went with my friend, Marie, last night to see the fireworks display in our town . It was really great but still in the 90s at 10pm! I want to wish you a happy and safe 4th. Let's be reminded why we are celebrating and remember all the brave men and women who have and are serving in the military to help keep our country free. We salute you!

Entered in Joan's Gardens red, white and blue challenge.

Zendoodle Tea

Hi Everyone! Whew, it is hot, hot, hot here! I hope you are staying cool. I want to show you a new set that Sparkle N Sprinkle has come out with. It is called Zendoodle Tea. I really enjoyed making some cards with this set. I love all types of tea, but on a day like today it will need to be ICED! LOL! Just last night I made some Mango Apricot iced tea. So good! Here is the new set and the two cards I made with it. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Just Rite Color Challenge

Happy Hump Day! I hope you are having a good one. The challenge at Just Rite is a color challenge this week -- using the colors aqua, apricot and orange. I love birds so I used the Bird Houses stamp set and Martha Stewart's bird border. I really enjoyed this challenge! Thanks for stopping by.

Technique Tuesday -- Zendoodling

Hi! I am sorry this is a little late today. Too much going on! I trust you are enjoying your day. It's a little cooler here with a breeze, so I am trying to enjoy it before it heats up again!
You might have noticed that we have some new Zendoodle stamp sets here at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Zendoodle or Zentangle  has become popular in recent years. It is an art form of glorified doodling.  I remember doing a lot of this when I was a teenager. Today I am showing you how to do your own Zendoodling starting with a Zendoodle stamp. It really is easy and there are no real "rules' you have to follow.

Supplies:
  1. Zendoodle  Rainbow set 462
  2. black fine point permanent felt pen
  3. markers
  4. white cardstock
Stamp the birds on white cardstock.

I decided I wanted the two at the bottom on a limb, so I drew a limb with leaves and drew a swirl at the end.

Then I started sectioning off the bottom  of the card to do more doodling.

Then I started doodling in each section. Your doodling does not need to be elaborate.

Stamp the rainbow at the top -- the rainbow is already doddled, but I added some more interest by doodling the shape of the cloud several times.

I like the look of the black and white doodling, but I wanted some color, so I just colored a few things to bring them out. I left a lot of areas blank because I wanted the birds to stand out , but you can cover the whole background like Marie did on hers here. She did a wonderful job!

Now it is your turn! It is easy and fun. Just let your doodles flow. Have fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Favorite Colors

Hello! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Here is a card I have entered in Basic Grey's Favorite Color Combo challenge. I love teal, magenta and brown together. I used some Basic Grey paper that my dear friend, Marie, gave me that has these colors. It is Plumeria Silver Springs. I also used Basics Bulletin paper for the oval. The flower is a Pennyy Black stamp named Blush. Penny Black's challenge is to use flags or banners. I cut some flags and did faux stitching around them and added some newly purchased  jewels to the
long flag. Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you a great weekend!

Also entered in the Simon Says challenge -- A Bit of Brown.

Friends

Hi Everyone! It is a scorcher here today. I am glad I am inside, crafting.  Here is the card I made for the Joan's Gardens challenge. We are to make a card for a friend and use blue and a corner embellishment.  This stamp reminds me of all my wonderful friends that God has blessed me with. All these ladies have on crowns and each one of my friends deserve a crown in my book! I am so thankful for them all!

Red, White and Blue

Hello! I hope you are keeping cool in this sweltering heat! I had to walk somewhere at 10:30 this morning and it felt like a 100 degrees already!! It is getting close to July 4th! I can't believe it is right around the corner. I am entering this card in the Impression Obsession challenge -- Red, White and Blue and also in Top Tip Tuesday's challenge -- Stars and Stripes. I used the Impression Obsession Porch with Flag stamp E1726. My tip is this -- to give the card a little more emphasis, I used Flower Soft on the flowers by the porch and used my distress tool around the oval, then sponged blue ink on it. Thanks for dropping by. Have a good day!
