Male Birthday

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I  want to show you a male birthday card I made using the Just For Fun Old Roadster and Long Script stamps.

I made the background by using a brayer and brayering over the card stock using Aged Mahogany and Faded Jeans Distress inks. I rolled the edge of the brayer in black ink to make the skinny stripe. This reminds me of old plaid fabric or a flannel shirt.

I stamped the script stamp onto blue card stock and stamped the car on white card stock and matted both of them on black card stock. I inked up just half the Happy Birthday stamp from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet and stamped it above the image. I then added ribbon, cord and metal embellishments to finish the card.

The theme for the challenge this month at Just For Fun Stamps is The Man. We would love for you to participate and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Also check out all the Just For Fun stamps for those male cards you will need this month. If you are like me, there will be Father's Day, birthday and graduation cards to make!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Think Pink

Hi and welcome to my blog! It has been fun being a guest designer this month for House Mouse Designs. I have another House Mouse card to show you today. The House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge is Think Pink. I love this satisfied little mouse inside the doughnut hole! I colored the icing pink using my Spectrum Noir markers. I then sprinkled on clear sparkle embossing powder to make it look more like icing.

This card is also a multi-fold card. It was fun adding all the cute images and embellishments inside.

I just love making cards with these stamps! Come join the challenge to be eligible to win some prizes. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Sea Escape

Hi Everyone! I want to show you another card using a new stamp from Just For Fun called Grey Heron At Water's Edge. Around here when Memorial Day comes everyone hits the beach! I just recently went to Charleston, SC to see my son. I love Charleston with its rich history and many islands and beaches. It was great strolling in the surf and feeling the breeze along the way. I made this card thinking about that wonderful time!

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my Distress inks to watercolor the image. I used some sparkle embossing powder on the sand and around the card base.

You still have a few days to join the Just For Fun challenge. We would love to have you participate and you might even win a gift certificate to our store.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Butterfly Flurry

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I found a butterfly in my image stash that I had stamped onto acetate and colored with alcohol inks. I wanted to make a card with it and I decided to make the card into a butterfly shape as well.

I used teal patterned paper and cut out the butterfly shape using the Spellbinder nested butterfly die. I then used cream card stock and cut with the Spellbinders Crisscross die. Next I cut out the butterfly again from the Crisscross die to lay it over the butterfly. I took my Magic Matter tool to make a bigger shaped butterfly card base. I attached the teal crisscross layer onto the cream card base just in the middle so that it pops up a little. You can see it here in the next picture.

I curled the butterfly by using my heat gun. Wire was added for the antennas. I used cream seam binding to make the bow and then added the butterfly on top. Pearls were added to the butterfly's middle and crisscross pattern.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Bits and Bobs #10

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I am back with another bits and bobs card. I have been finding so many fun things in my stash that I have totally forgotten about! I discovered some acetate overlays from K & Company the other day and used one of them on this card. The overlay is the pretty teal frame. I found the Tim Holtz bird already cut out in my image stash. The saying was also in my stash and I used the Gina Marie stitched oval die to cut it out. I have had the delicate ferns forever that I added along with the paper flowers. I wish I knew where I got the ferns because they were the last ones! Boo hoo.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Mice Wishes

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am enjoying so much being a guest designer for House Mouse Designs! The theme for this new challenge is Embossing (wet or dry). I used a lot of embossing powder on my card today.

I just got this fun stamp and I had to use it. The bubble background was made by laying a circle stencil on dark blue card stock, applying transparent embossing paste and sprinkling on clear glitter embossing powder. I then heat set it. The image was colored using Spectrum Noir markers. I added different colors of marbled embossing powders to the bottom of the fish bowl to make it look like colored pebbles. I then added clear sparkle embossing powder over the entire fish bowl. You can see it better in this picture.

The white frame was made by using Martha Stewart corner and border punches.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a very "mice" day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! I hope all you mothers out there have a wonderful and blessed day.

On my card I started by adding patterned paper to the card base. I cut white frames using the Spellbinders Labels 8 dies and ran them through a dotted swiss embossing folder. I stamped the Just For Fun large colorblock butterfly twice with pink ink, fussy cut them and added them to two corners of the card. I stamped the Just For Fun Happy Mother's Day saying onto the cuttlebug scroll label die and pop dotted it in the middle. The scroll was edged with pink ink.

We have a new card challenge this month called A Mother's Love. We would love for you to join in and you might even win a gift certificate to the Just For Fun store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day.

Bits and Bobs #9

Hi and welcome to my blog! It is another bits and bobs day! I had fun looking through my scraps to make a Mother's Day card. This image is an old one that I have had in my stash for a long time. I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out using a Spellbinders Small Circle die. I made the frame awhile back using the Heartfelt Creations Butterfly die set. I placed the die on the fold of my patterned paper to make a complete frame. The bottom border was made using a scrap of patterned paper and the Spellbinders Bracket Borders 2 die. I then added embellishments I found in my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Keeping Cool

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am so happy to be a guest designer for House Mouse Designs for May and June. I just love using all the fun House Mouse stamps and this stamp is no exception. I love lemonade and it looks like this little mouse is really "into" it! LOL! The first House Mouse challenge is Summer Time. The summers here in South Carolina are hot and sticky, so keeping cool is a top priority. What better way to keep cool than by having a tall cold glass of lemonade!

I stamped the image, colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out using the Spellbinders Small Circle die. I added Diamond Glaze to the image to make it look like glass. I placed different sizes of double sided tape across the bottom of the card and added purple glitter. The patterned paper at the top of the card was embossed using an embossing folder. The card was finished off by adding yellow ribbon, a bow and enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
