Dragonfly Dreams

Hello again! Today I am showing you a card I made using this beautiful Modern Dragonfly stamp from Just For Fun Stamps.

I stamped the dragonfly onto acetate and colored the back side with regular and pearl alcohol inks. The dragonfly was fussy cut and adhered to the background. The background was made by spritzing an embossing folder with water and placing it on watercolor paper. I lifted off the embossing folder and applied Color Bursts over the wet areas and let it dry. I made a banner for the saying that came from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

Please join us in this month's challenge. The theme is "At The Shoreline." You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Birthday Shaker Card

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying this month of May. May is always a nice month here. After May is gets really hot and humid here in the South! Today I want to share a fun shaker card I made with Just For Fun stamps. I made this shaker card flatter in order for it to go through the mail. The sequins still move around well inside.

For the background I used Color Bursts and spritzed them with water. Next I placed sequins on the background and adhered a piece of acetate over them, just gluing around the edges. I cut the blue frame using the Gina Marie Stitched Regtangle die and adhered that over the acetate. I colored the Stamptangle Seahorse using Zig markers, fussy cut it and adhered it to the front of the card. I made a banner and stamped the saying on it and sponged some black ink around it. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

I hope that you will join in this month's challenge. The theme is -- celebrate the women in your life!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Fall Hello

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I am showing a Fall card using a pretty brand new leaf stamp from Just For Fun Stamps that will be on the web site soon.

I stamped and embossed the leaf four times on various Color Burst background papers that I made. They were fussy cut and added to the tree embossed background. I flicked some copper metallic paint across the card and stamped hello at the bottom. Sparkle enamel dots and a cord bow were also added.

We would love to have you join in this month's challenge -- Halloween. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a good day.

Rainbow Colors

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am here waiting to see what hurricane Florence is going to bring us! So far it is cloudy and windy.

I want to show you a card I made with an Impression Obsession stamp called Cover-a-Card Pine Trees . I thought this would make a good winter card since the sky looks like the aurora borealis ( which I would love to see in person some day )!

I made the sky using Color Burst powders and adding in some Color Burst liquid metallics too. Little clear rhinestones were also added to the sky.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Haunting

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I have really enjoyed using the brand new Halloween stamps from Just For Fun, and you can see all of them here and here. On this card I used the Haunted Moon Tree.

First I stamped the 2-Sided Doodle Background/Frame on cream cardstock and rubbed a little Micro Glaze over each circle to act as a resist. I used various colors of Color Bursts on the background. Next I stamped the tree and Tiny Black Kat using Jet Black Staz On ink. The eyes are polymer stickers.

The theme for our challenge this month is Halloween! Come on over and join in the fun and you might even win a gift certificate to the store. You do not have to use a Just For Fun Stamp to enter.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Bits and Bobs #18

Hi and welcome to my blog! I want to show you another bits and bobs card I made. I love going through my stash and finding old things to use on my cards. I found a piece of canvas and dropped colors of Color Bursts over it and spritzed with water. When it dried I stamped some swirls around the edges using Teal Blue Staz On ink. I used Versa Mark ink to stamp the flower, sprinkled white embossing powder over it and heat set. Who knew that one could stamp so well on canvas! I used a piece of torn handmade paper that I had in my stash to place behind the canvas piece.  These were adhered to an embossed teal background. I also added some ribbon, a dragonfly charm and a few rhinestones from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will pull out some old things from your stash to see what you can make with them. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Birthday Blowout!

Hi and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a birthday card I made using a Queen & Co. shaker card kit. I purchased some of these at a stamp show this summer and have just gotten around to using one. These are so much fun to make and the possibilities are endless.

I love using Color Bursts on birthday cards because they make the card look so festive! I punched out the balloon windows, used the template to trace the balloons on watercolor paper and cut them out so that I could lay my background over the windows and line them up properly. I had also bought the little polymer circles at the show to go into the windows. I added clear glitter and a little teal glitter in the windows also. I stamped the cute House Mouse stamp at the bottom, colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and added clear Stickles to the icing on the cupcake.

Here is a better picture showing the glitter.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

A Colorful World

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a card I made using some of the great new Just For Fun stamps that have just been released. You can find all of them here.

On this card I used the CJ-Canning Jar LargePaint Brushes and Colorful and Happy stamps. The background was made by dropping Color Burst colors on watercolor paper and spritzing the colors lightly with water. I stamped the brushes onto the background and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. The metal areas were colored with a silver paint pen. The jar was stamped on acetate using Staz On ink and fussy cut. I adhered the jar over the brushes. You can see the shine on the left side of the jar. The saying was layered on red card stock for a border and adhered across the front.

There are so many things one can do with this jar stamp!

I hope you will enter our sketch challenge for this month. We would love to see your creations and you may even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a colorful day!

Bits and Bobs #4

Hi Everyone! Today I have another bits and bobs card to show you. It is never too early to make Christmas cards, so I made a Christmas card using microbeads that I found in a drawer. I have a few colors of these that I purchased many years ago at a stamp convention. I used clear ones over the image. I adhered them by using double sticky paper. I also found this piece of acetate where snowflakes had been embossed with white embossing powder. I adhered this to a background I had made awhile back with Color Bursts.

This is the close up showing the microbeads.

I am having so much fun finding old things and using them again. It is almost like using something new! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful  and blessed day!

Colorful and Happy

Happy New Year! 2016 just flew by for me. How about you? I want to show you my card for the Just For Fun challenge that I made with a New Year's wish. Don't you love this saying from Just for Fun? "Colorful and happy is how I want your life to be." This is my New Year's wish to you!

So here is the first challenge of the New Year. It is a free for all, so anything goes! We hope to have you join in. You could win and receive a gift certificate to the store! You can see all the details here. Also check out the Just For Fun 40 % off sale!

                                      No automatic alt text available.

                                                    Now onto my card.

The first thing I did was to stamp the Jumping Girls onto watercolor paper. Then I taped together the Spellbinders small circle dies and embossed them on the paper.

Next I added Color Bursts in areas at the side and bottom of the paper and sponged some stars at the bottom using a stencil. I also added confetti stars and sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy New Year!

Christmas In July

Merry Christmas in July! Right now I could use some cold! We have been in the upper 90's for weeks. I have been making a few Christmas cards each month so that I will have all of mine hopefully finished by Christmas. On this card I used Color Bursts for my background, stamped the Just For Fun trees stamp and embossed them with white sparkle embossing powder. The deer is a cuttlebug die that I cut from brown card stock and embossed with Sparkle embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Maybe seeing this card will help you cool down a bit and inspire you to make a few Christmas cards as well. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Altered Dies #12

Hi Everyone! I have another altered die card to share with you today. This one is a wild card for a boy's birthday as you will see! The background was made by using dot resist watercolor paper and adding blue Color Burst. I added confetti stars for embellishments. The "cute" little monster was stamped, colored with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut.

Here is the inside of the card. I cut a strip of orange card stock and added numbers washi tape over it. I also added some confetti stars under the sentiment.

I used the saucer and tea bag from the Tea Time dies by Tim Holtz. I turned the saucer over and attached the tea bag to the top for it to look like a flying saucer! I punched circles on the saucer for windows.

This was a fun card to make. I hope you enjoyed how I altered the saucer and tea bag to make my UFO! Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

For The Girls

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had fun making this card using a Just For Fun stamp. Don't you just love this image? I stamped her on a Color Burst background and used an embossing folder for a frame. The butterfly was cut from an inked background using the Butterfly Quickutz die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a super day!

Rainbow Colors

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I still have decorations to take down and then get ready for 2016! I made a birthday card today using rainbow colors. I used Color Bursts for the cake "icing" and paper pieced it to the image. I used the Dianza w/ Angel Wing Cheery Lynn die behind the mouse.

For sparkle I used Diamond Dust glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle on the "icing" and circles on the die. The image was pop dotted to the middle of the die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Masked Christmas Tree

Hello again! I want to show another Christmas card I made using a masked Christmas tree. I stamped the tree on watercolor paper, used Diamond Glaze over it and then water colored with my Color Burst powders. I ran the patterned paper through a snowflake embossing folder and used white embossing powder on the raised snowflakes. I found the little penguin in a stamp set I have from Fiskars. I have not used this stamp in a long time. I think he is a cutie! My Christmas cards are almost finished for this year! Yeah! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Hot Days of Summer

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying your day. These August days sure are hot and I am so looking forward to Fall! I want to share a card I made using hot simmering colors of Summer. I used my new Color Burst powders and made the red flowers free hand for the background.

I cut the cute hedgehog by Penny Black using the Spellbinders Labels 4 die. The butterfly is from the Exotic Butterfly die set by Cheery Lynn.

I love using these shiny polymer glue dots to add interest to my cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!

Color Burst Play

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have had a lot of fun playing with my new Color Burst powders lately. Here are a few cards I made with them. On these backgrounds I just spritzed my watercolor paper with water, tapped on some Color Bursts and just let them spread. I also spritzed them again by aiming my spritzer at an angle to move the direction of the water and colors. It was fun finding stamps that would "fit" the patterns of the Color Bursts.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

What's Moo?

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a summer card I made using the Color Bursts. It is sweltering here and I would love to be in the water like this little guy! For the background I stamped a background stamp onto watercolor paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. I spritzed the background real well with water and tapped my Color Burst powders over it. I tilted the paper some so the colors would run and blend.

I added three bling dots above the cow and Princess Elsa Frost loose glitter, by Sparkle N Sprinkle, on the waves. TIP: When applying loose glitter to small areas, use a glue pen. You can control where the glitter goes better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are keeping cool. Have a great day!
