Patterned Paper #6

Hi and welcome to my blog. As some of you know I have been digging in my stash of patterned paper scraps to find different ways to use patterned paper on my cards. Here is another fun way to use up those scraps!

I used the scraps to make birthday gifts. For the bows I cut off the ends of a Spellbinders label die.

The cute little hedgehog is a Penny Black stamp colored with alcohol markers. The saying is from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Thanks for dropping by today. I hope your day is wonderful and blessed!

Thanks

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am so glad Spring is on the way! I want to show you a Spring card that I made with several Just For Fun stamps. On this card I used an old but tried and true techique.

First I stamped the Cracked Ice Texture stamp with Versa Mark ink on glossy card stock and then sponged purple and blue Distress inks over it at the top and used two differnet green Distress inks at the bottom. After sponging  on the inks I wiped a tissue over the excess ink. The Versa mark ink acts as a resist and the stamped image shows through.

Next I stamped the Floral Silhouette stamp over the card twice, using black Staz On ink. I stamped the Colorblock Butterfly using Brilliance Pearlescent Purple ink. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the card. Rhinestones were added to the body of the butterfly. A thanks die was added to the top of the card.

I hope that you will join our current challenge. The theme this month is to add movement to your card. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Patterned Paper #5

Hi! I hope that you are having a good day. I want to show you another way that you can use up those patterned paper scraps. I pulled out some paper scraps and cut them in wavy lines. On each one I sponged dark ink on the edges and then sponged around the finished panel. Here are a few backgrounds I made.

Here is a finished card I made using another background like this.

I stamped the Inkadinkado cat, using black ink, onto orange card stock. I fussy cut him and added him to the card. I used green sparkle enamel dots to add interest to the card. The saying is from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by. May this inspire you to get out those paper scraps and get creative! Have a great day!

Just For Fun March Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog! We are having another challenge at Just For Fun Stamps! You will enjoy this challenge because the theme is Movement! I love cards that move. They are always fun to make and to receive! On my card I used the Flower Balloon stamp, embossed it with black embossing powder, colored with Zig markers and fussy cut it. I used a wavy die to show the balloon moving throught the clouds. The background was made by using cloud stencils and sponging around the stencils with Distress Oxide inks. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet.

I have gone hot air ballooning and it was a wonderful ride -- gliding through the air just over the tree tops. If you ever have a chance, I hope that you will go. It was one of my greatest experiences!

Here is the card when the balloon has been moved to the other side of the card. I made the balloon move by adding a penny to the back of the balloon, then adding a small pop dot, then adding another penny to the pop dot to hold the pennies together.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope that you will join in this fun challenge. I would love to see your movement cards!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello

Hello and welcome to my blog! I love techniques and I decided to use a very old, but fun technique on this card. I enjoy bringing back some old techniques because they feel like new after not using them for awhile!

I used the Joseph's Coat technique on this, but instead of sponging the background with different colors, I used patterned paper. I stamped the Peacock Feather from Just For Fun Stamps, onto the patterned paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next I used Faded Jeans Distress ink and coverd the whole card with the ink. Next, I wiped off the excess ink from the image and the patterned paper popped through the image. I like that with using the blue ink, that you can still see the patterned paper under it. I think this method gives the feather a ghost effect. I added a die cut Hello (no brand) to the card.

Hop on over to the Just for Fun store to see all the great stamps they carry. Click on the link here to see their newest stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
