Hi and welcome again to Technique Tuesday at Sparkle N Sprinkle! I hope you are having a good day. The technique I am showing today is perfect for a Christmas card. Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner?
Supplies needed:
- translucent shimmer sheet ( translucent is the only one that works )
- 2 1/2 " wide Tear-ific Tape
- bone folder
- Cloud Nine velvet glitter
- embossing folder
- white card stock
Cut the shimmer sheet 2 1/2" wide and the length you want it. Run the sheet through and embossing folder. I used a folder with various circles.
Cut a piece of tape to fit the size of your sheet. Peel off bottom layer of tape and adhere to a piece of white card stock the same size and your shimmer sheet. Peel top layer off of tape, turn embossed shimmer sheet upside down and adhere it to the tape.
Rub over the sheet with a bone folder.
Peel off the shimmer sheet from the tape and some of the shimmery color from the raised embossed areas will stick to the tape.
Now add Cloud Nine velvet glitter to this tape piece. Rub the glitter over the tape with your finger and brush off. Now you have a beautiful, shimmery background!
Keep the leftover shimmer sheet. You will see that there are white areas that were taken off by the tape. This is also a neat background to use on a card.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed this technique and I hope you will try it out on some of your Christmas cards. Have a great day!

What an interesting way to use the shimmer sheets!!! Love the non-traditional colors too - right up my alley.
This card is super adorable, April. I loved reading about the shimmer sheetz. I don't know if those are in my stash, but there are other similar papers which are. It will be fun trying the technique! You're now in lights on the T&T page LOL
April, love the penguin image. Your color combo is fantastic, so pretty. Nice holiday card. Love Shimmer Sheets!
