Shabby Chic #16

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am sharing another shabby chic card I made today. I found this saying in my stash from Rubber Necker that had been cut out using the Spellbinders labels 20 die. I just love what it says.

I used some brown Distress ink to ink up the edges of the saying. I placed a page from an old book behind the saying, roughed up the edges and curled some edges and adhered all of this to the bround patterned paper background. I used the Memory Box Blooming Branch die cut from gold card stock and added little paper flowers to it and the butterfly. The butterfly was also in my stash cut from the Tim Holtz Butterfly Duo die that also has an embossing folder to use with it. Cord, pink silk ribbon and a yellow paper flower were added for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Sabby Chic #8

Hi and welcome to my blog! The saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers." Today I made my shabby chic card with lots of flowers. I really love the month of May. Here in South Carolina, May is our best "summer" month because it is warm and not so humid as later in the summer.

I found the white frame in my stash cut from a Spellbinders die. I tore several different patterned papers and adhered them behind the frame. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut out the left corner of the card and then I added some of the designs back in a few areas. The Tim Holtz bird was also in my stash and I pop dotted it to the card. I added flowers and Heartfelt Creations stamped leaves. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampendous.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Happy Birthday

Hi and welcome to my blog. Male cards are hard for me to make sometimes, but today I have made a male birthday card using the Just For Fun '57 Chevy stamp. Everytime I use this stamp I think of my dad's '56 Chevy he had for 18 years! As a girl we used to travel in this car from Texas to North Carolina every summer to see my grandparents. I have fond memories of that chevy!

I went along with the Just For Fun challenge theme for this month which is to use dies. I used Tim Holtz's Alterations die as a background. I stamped the car on the same light blue card stock as the background, fussy cut it and used a silver paint pen for the "chrome" on the car. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

I hope you will join our challenge this month. We love to see your creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Take Flight

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. It has been a pleasure being a guest designer for House Mouse and Friends. I want to show you a card that I made using this fun House Mouse stamp ( Cling Butterfly Ride ) that I just recently won. This little mouse is having a blast! The new challenge at House Mouse and Friends is Yellow and/or Orange. Come and join in the fun!

I adhered yellow and orange patterned paper to a white card base. I used one of Tim Holtz's Alterations dies to cut out the bottom area of white card stock so that the patterned paper can show through. The image was stamped on the top white card stock and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I paper pieced the butterfly and pop dotted it to the image. Clear sparkle embossing powder was added to the butterfly.  You can see it better in the picture below.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Black and White

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have been trying to use up some of my old stuff in my stash and I found this neat velvety zebra print paper. I used it for the background of my zebra image.

I stamped the zebra using black pigment ink and added Ebony Spark embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle. You can see the sparkle more in this picture.

I cut out the image using Spellbinders Labels 4 die and added interest to this shape by cutting into it with Tim Holtz's Alterations Collection die. The leaves are from Memory Box - Fresh Foliage.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Altered Dies #18

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am showing another altered die card today. When I was making this card I wanted it to have a vintage look. I had an awful time finding patterned paper to go behind my image. Have you ever had one of those days? I even had some friends over who were helping me find the patterned paper that looked right. We found one, then I decided that sepia looked better on the image instead of black so that trashed my patterned paper idea I had, because the sepia color did not go with the paper. Do you remember the show What Not to Wear? I remember them saying on that show that as long as something goes it is fine to wear it. You don't have to be matchy matchy! So that is my philosophy on this card. My patterned paper goes! LOL!

I started with the Flower Bramble die by Cricut and cut using cream card stock.

I adhered it to pink card stock and cut out an oval using Spellbinders small ovals die in the middle to give the card a different look.

I decided that the card looked too large so I cut it down some. I added the patterned paper behind the oval and pop dotted the image on top. Now the card looks more like a frame instead of just adding something on top of the background. I also added teal butterflies that were cut out using Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Birthday With Friends

Hi and welcome to my blog. What can be better than celebrating a birthday with friends? My stamping friends and I celebrate our birthdays at a favorite scrapbook store where we spend the day stamping, chatting and eating cake! It is always a fun day. We just celebrated a birthday the first of this month and we are ready to celebrate again in July. I want to show you the birthday tag I made with these cute House Mouse friends. I just bought the stamp and numbers dies today!

I followed Tim Holtz's techniques for his June tag. I sponged a tag with Distress inks. I then took out some white tissue paper and stamped the music and birthday on it. I covered another tag with white school glue and adhered the stamped tissue paper on the tag and smooshed it around a little to make wrinkles. When this dried, I used Tim Holtz's numbers dies on the tag. I adhered this tag over my background tag for the colors to show through the numbers. The image was stamped, colored with Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut and pop dotted to the tag. The ribbon was colored using Distress inks. I also added stickles glitter to the cupcake.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Altered Dies #12

Hi Everyone! I have another altered die card to share with you today. This one is a wild card for a boy's birthday as you will see! The background was made by using dot resist watercolor paper and adding blue Color Burst. I added confetti stars for embellishments. The "cute" little monster was stamped, colored with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut.

Here is the inside of the card. I cut a strip of orange card stock and added numbers washi tape over it. I also added some confetti stars under the sentiment.

I used the saucer and tea bag from the Tea Time dies by Tim Holtz. I turned the saucer over and attached the tea bag to the top for it to look like a flying saucer! I punched circles on the saucer for windows.

This was a fun card to make. I hope you enjoyed how I altered the saucer and tea bag to make my UFO! Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

A Summer Day

Hi Everyone! I want to share a card I made using stamps from Art Impressions. I love their scene stamps. I made this scene on a tri fold card. The flower bucket is pop dotted on the front of the card.

This is what the card looks like when the first flap is opened. I added the fence Impression Obsession die to the foreground.

This is the inside of the card. The butterflies are from Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die. I used Pierced dies from Gina Marie for the saying.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Joy Faith Hope

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I want to show you a tag I made following a few of Tim Holtz's techniques. You can see them by clicking here. For the tree I used an embossing folder, brayered flesh colored acrylic ink over the raised areas, and applied Tim Holtz Walnut stain over the top. I wiped off the excess stain and the paint acted as a resist. I tore around the knot in the tree and added it to the tag.

I used one of the butterfly dies from Tim Holtz's Butterfly Duo dies. I did not have the grout so I used some white matte embossing paste on the butterfly. I then glued on the paper mosaic pieces and used Diamond Glaze over them so that they would look like tiles. I then sponged Gathered Twigs Distress ink in the "grout" spaces. Here is a close up of the butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Mixed Media

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a card I made using mixed media. This is always fun for me. At Joan's Touch this week we are to use stencils, lots of colors of ink and textures. My good enabler friend ( I seem to have several of those! ) showed me her Crayola air brush system and let me play with it. Well, of course I had to get one for myself! LOL! I used it doing the background. I used a fern and dot stencils with green and brown markers on yellow card stock.

To make the glittery flowers I used a stencil with white stencil paste. I colored over the flowers, but I was not liking the look, so I ended up using the wonderful velvet glitters from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I made the blue flower by using Tim Holtz's Tattered Flowers die, cut from cardboard. I inked the flower by rubbing on Inka Gold inks.

The bluebird is a chipboard piece I had and I also rubbed Inka Gold colors on it.  I enjoyed using the chipboard and I ought to use it more often!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
