Altered Dies #13

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog! I was so happy when I learned I had been chosen as a guest designer for Word Art Wednesday for the month of July. What a wonderful privilege!

I have always loved this beautiful verse about peace that is being showcased here this week. There are quite a few verses in God's Word that tell about peace. When Jesus was born the angels said "peace on earth goodwill toward men." Later it is written that God gives peace that passes all understanding, even when we live in a stormy world! AND that is a peace He gives deep in our souls and only He can give it!

I decided to use a beautiful peacock stamp from Inkadinkado. I must have peacocks on the brain because I saw some beautiful ones when I went to Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC while visiting my son a few weeks ago. This one was really showing off for us and I was happy to get his picture!

I have been making the altered die cards on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. This is a day early but I altered some leaf dies from Sue Wilson and used them as feathers on the peacock! His body was glittered using Sparkle N Sprinkle Olaf White glitter. The frame for the card is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die layered on a Labels 8 die cut from blue card stock. The Lace Corner is a Cheery Lynn die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Altered Dies #2

Hi Everyone and welcome to altered dies #2. I have altered 2 dies today to make a sleigh. It looks like a lot of us might need a sleigh this week! LOL!

I started with Spellbinders Labels 8 and cut it out using red card stock.

I then used scissors to cut the label in half. This is the body of the sleigh.

I took the Spellbinders Floral Flourish die and cut 2 from silver card stock.

Next I cut off the left swirl on each one to make the runners. I also cut a small strip from the silver card stock to attach to the runners. Here is the finished sleigh!

Here is a close up of the card that shows the sparkle of the glitter. I used Starfire glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle. White Applique was used on Woofie's hat and some of the snow.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed how I altered the dies. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Rainbow Colors

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I still have decorations to take down and then get ready for 2016! I made a birthday card today using rainbow colors. I used Color Bursts for the cake "icing" and paper pieced it to the image. I used the Dianza w/ Angel Wing Cheery Lynn die behind the mouse.

For sparkle I used Diamond Dust glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle on the "icing" and circles on the die. The image was pop dotted to the middle of the die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

BOO!

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a Halloween tag I made using a neat technique. I mentioned this technique before, but I will show you how it is done today.

I saw this technique on line and just loved the spooky look of it. I patted Mustard Seed, Dusty Concord and Broken China Distress inks onto the center of the glossy card stock tag and patted Black Soot Distress ink around the sides.

Next I spritzed the whole tag with water. You can see that the colors are running here.

I then took my finger and started with the outside black and ran my finger in circles. I then went in and blended the colors in the center together and pulled in some more black. This is the finished background!

I stamped over the tag using a script background stamp. I then used the Sizzix tree embossing folder and a Cuttlebug spider web embossing folder to dry emboss the tag. I went over the raised areas with Jet Black Staz On ink.

I colored the owl and placed the Tim Holtz Splatters stencil over him and sponged on the spots. I added the wooden pumpkin beside the owl and glued the "boo" buttons to it.

Lastly I added 3 confetti bats to complete the tag!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

What's Moo?

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a summer card I made using the Color Bursts. It is sweltering here and I would love to be in the water like this little guy! For the background I stamped a background stamp onto watercolor paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. I spritzed the background real well with water and tapped my Color Burst powders over it. I tilted the paper some so the colors would run and blend.

I added three bling dots above the cow and Princess Elsa Frost loose glitter, by Sparkle N Sprinkle, on the waves. TIP: When applying loose glitter to small areas, use a glue pen. You can control where the glitter goes better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are keeping cool. Have a great day!

Berry Delicious

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card I made with the Berry Sundae stamp set 688 from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I just love this set. I love ice cream, so this is right down my alley! I used Sparkle embossing powder EP107 on the stripes on the patterned paper. Winter Berry embossing powder EP411 was used on the raspberries. White Liquid Applique was used for the whipped cream. Sparkling Snow glitter G1003 was sprinkled over the "ice cream."

I used an embossing folder for the background behind the ice cream bowl, cut out a window using a die cut and popped up the piece over the bowl. Diamond Glaze was used on the bowl to make it look like glass. Corner dies were used to dress up the corners of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day is as yummy as ice cream!

Top Tip Tuesday:  Rubber Stamps Only (TIP)  --  If you want glitter paper and do not have any, use a Versamarker to color in the places where you want sparkle, like I did on the stripes. Add clear sparkle embossing powder and heat set. Now you have glitter paper!

Still Thinking of Spring

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. Awhile back I showed a card that had the title "Thinking of Spring", well I am still thinking of Spring! I want to show you a card I made with Sparkle N Sprinkle's new stamp set Iris Garden 687. When I taught school some of my children would bring me irises in the Spring. They smelled so good sitting on my desk.

I used the Die-Versions Gents Background die on a Super Adhesive sheet and then added Lacy Lilac glitter G1033 to it for the background. I loved using the Spellbinders Gold Majesty Circle die that I pop dotted in the center. I colored the irises using colored pencils and Gamsol and added Sparkling Snow glitter G1003 to them for dew drops.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!

Dreaming of Spring

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I am so glad to see the sunshine after many days of damp and cloudy weather. So this card has me dreaming of Spring! I am entering this into Penny Black's challenge -- NEW. With this card I have used my new vagabond machine to cut the dies, used my new gelli plate to make the background and the background is a new technique! I just love this cute hedgehog from the Penny Black stamp set Wonderful Day.

I pop dotted the center die to give the card some more dimension.

The black embossing powder and glitter are compliments of Sparkle N Sprinkle. I also used Diamond Glaze over the glittered flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

The Collector #682   (digi version DIGI682)

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year! At Sparkle N Sprinkle we have these cute and fun stamp sets to start the New Year with! I chose the cute mouse set called The Collector, for my card. He looks very playful and mischievous. I saw a stray cat out our window one day and there was a rat in the yard about half her size. They were playing with each other, chasing and having fun it looked like! The rat never ran away nor the cat! Guess they were about the same size so they may as well play LOL! I have never seen that before. Anyway, this little mousy is gathering up food for a feast! I ran the brown card stock through a tree trunk embossing folder, swiped Versa Mark ink over the raised areas and added Glisten embossing powder EP135 to it for some sparkle. Glisten embossing powder was used around the circle and edges of the card also. The tree limbs are from an svg cut file and I fussy cut the red berries.

Here is the inside of the card. I used Gypsy Red velvet glitter GM2005 on the berry and the leaves are another svg cut file. Twinkling Clouds sparkle n soft SS107 was used on the mouse's stomach, but it is hard to see.

A Friend IS....

Hi Everyone! I want to share with you a card I made with the lovely newly released Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set Beautiful Friendship 665.  Don't you just love the saying?

To make the bottom border on my card, I used a border punch on patterned paper from the Authentique paper bundle Grace. I adhered it to Sticker Paper and added Orchid Rose Velvet glitter GM 2016.  I used Balck Detail embossing powder EP171 on the saying. The bling border is Diamond Mesh Black Silver. I love using this because it adds the right touch!

I colored the flowers using copics, pop dotted them for dimension and added Waterscape glitter G1108 for dew drops. For full instructions on how to make this card, please click here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day is wonderful!

For my card this month I used the Bubblegum stamp set 664. Along with it I used the girl from stamp set Daddy's Princess 413. I thought she went so well with the saying from the Bubblegum set.

To make the background I brayered over the raised part of an embossing folder with Versa Mark ink, laid the paper on top  and pressed with my fingers. I then added Belgian Cream embossing powder to it and heat set it. I used Wineter Berry embossing powder EP411 on the edges of the card and saying and Lemonade glitter G1091 on the yellow gumballs. An acetate circle was placed over the machine's globe.

The cute saying was embossed with Black Detail embossing powder EP171.
