Spring Flowers

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am enjoying the Spring weather we have been having here except today is stormy. I love all the pretty trees and flowers blooming but we really have the pollen this year. I have made a Spring card using a Penny Black stamp. I just love this cute hedgehog. He looks like he is in a hurry to deliver some Spring flowers!

I stamped and colored the image using alcohol markers and some glitter markers for the flowers' centers. The image was cut out using the Gina Marie stitched circle die. I cut a butterfly using a Cheery Lynn die and added rhinestones on the body. Sequins were added to the card for interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Hi and welcome to my blog. Just For Fun's challenge this month is to add lace to your card. I used the Cake With Candles stamp. You can see the other fun birthday stamps here .

I stamped the cake on the dotted patterned paper, colored it with colored pencils and added Sprinkled Sugar Stickles on the icing. I colored the plate with alcohol markers and applied Diamond Glaze to make the plate look like ceramic.

I added lace for the tablecloth. The saying was stamped underneath. I added pink sticker stars and black rhinestones for interest.

I hope that you will join in the fun challenge this month. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Patterned Paper Series #1

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that the new year will hold many blessings for you.

For the past few years I have had a running series on my blog. Last year was shabby chic. I have tons of paper scraps as I know most of us do! I will never use up all the pieces, but I am hoping I can make a little dent in my stash with this patterned paper series this year. I hope to find different ways to use patterned papers on my cards.

Today I made a card with snowflake dies using three different blue patterned papers from my stash. The dies I used are the Build A Snowflake 5 dies from Spellbinders.

I stamped the cute penguin from Inkadinkado, colored him with alcohol markers, fussy cut him and pop dotted him to the card. I used a swirl stamp behind the sled to show motion and added glitter over it. Rhinestones were added to the centers of some of the snowflakes.

Thanks so much for stoppng by. I will be posting my patterned paper ideas every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month!

Have a great day!

Tis The Season

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a fun card I made using this cute snowman from Just For Fun Stamps. Doesn't he look jolly?

I made the background by cutting a strip of fun foam, adhering it to an acrylic block and stamping it in various angles using oxide inks. I used a dotted swiss embossing folder at the top and bottom of the card to add interest. I colored the snowman using alcohol markers, fussy cut him and added him to the card. The saying is from a Die Versions die. I also added 3 sticker snowflakes and hot pink rhinestones.

This month the challenge is to make any holiday card. I hope you will join us and you might win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a jolly day!

Just For Fun November Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. At Just For Fun Stamps the challenge this month is a color challenge -- use brown, orange and red on your project. Here is the happy birthday card I made.

It seems that I have a lot of Fall birthday cards to send and I love using the Fall colors. On this card I used brown Coordinations cardstock that has the kraft color underneath. I used a leaf embossing folder and sanded the card stock so that the kraft color showed through. I cut the Spellbinders Wreath die from kraft card stock and added the Just For Fun leaves to it. I stamped and embossed them, colored with orange and red Zig markers and then fussy cut them. I also added a bow and rust colored rhinestones for interest. The Happy Birthday cut from orange card stock is an unbranded die.

I hope that you will join in the new challenge this month. We would love to see what you make using these Fall colors. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Shabby Chic #19

Welcome back to shabby chic day! I have made a shabby chic Fall card using one of Dina Wakely's birds. I colored the bird using alcohol markers, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card.

I used two of the Spellbinders small circle dies for the frame. Behind the frame I stamped the Hero Arts Italian Poetry background. The Memeory Box Fresh Foliage die was used for the leaves over the circle frame. I cut apart the Flowers Frame from Precious Marieke to add to the right corner. The edges of the patterned paper were distressed and brown ink was sponged on the edges. I am entring this card into the CropStop challenge with the theme "Anything Goes." They carry a lot of great crafting products!

Rainbow Colors

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am here waiting to see what hurricane Florence is going to bring us! So far it is cloudy and windy.

I want to show you a card I made with an Impression Obsession stamp called Cover-a-Card Pine Trees . I thought this would make a good winter card since the sky looks like the aurora borealis ( which I would love to see in person some day )!

I made the sky using Color Burst powders and adding in some Color Burst liquid metallics too. Little clear rhinestones were also added to the sky.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

A Very Mice Day

Hi and welcome to my blog. I have been recently playing with a new type of card called the "impossible card." This card is not impossible to make -- it is actually quite easy! You can see how to make it here. I made two while I had all my stuff out and I know I will be making more!

I used this cute little House Mouse image and colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I stamped the saying and cut it out using a Spellbinders label die.

Here is the other card I made using a die to pop up.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

A Winter Hello

Hi! I hope you are keeping warm. We are supposed to get a little snow by tomorrow morning! This little mousey is keeping warm by climbing into his coffee cup!

I made the frame for this image by using Martha Stewart's corner and border punches. I colored the image using a watercolor crayon and a few Distress inks to make a watercolor look. Punched snowflakes were added and I added clear stickles glitter to them. You can see it better in the picture below. I also applied the glitter to different dots on the patterned paper and image.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Stay warm and have a great day!

Bits and Bobs #21

Hi and welcome to another bits and bobs day. Today I found my stack of rub ons that I have not used in ages! They always add nice detail to a project. I found this die cut in a bag and decided to put my rub on on it. Aren't these pretty rub ons from K & Co?

This is how it came out when I finished rubbing it.

I layered this piece on an embossed green background. The bird from Inkadinakdo had been stamped with black ink onto orange card stock and fussy cut. I added rhinestones that came with the rub ons and also added a black cord bow.

Dig through some of your stuff and you may find some fun items that you have not used on your cards in a long time. Have fun!

Bits and Bobs #20

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a bits and bobs Fall card I made. I have been finding some interesting things in my stash since I started this bits and bobs series this year! I found a pattern book for paper piercing that was written in Swedish! Now my friends will tell you that paper piercing is NOT what I like to do, but I searched through this book and found a simple pattern and endured to the end! LOL! I laid the pattern over green card stock and placed them on a mouse pad so that I could poke holes with a pin.

This process is time consuming so that is why I used this simple frame pattern. I liked how it turned out.

I sponged on a little Distress Vintage Photo ink over the top of the piercing so that it would stand out a little more.

The gourds ( Just For Fun ) and leaf ( Rubber Stampede ) were already stamped and embossed in my stash, so I fussy cut them and pop dotted them in the frame. I added old rhinestones and a lace border to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. It is time to get all those Fall cards made. I hope I have inspired you to make some using your old and interesting stuff! Have a wonderful day!

Fancy Fish

Hi Everyone! Welcome to y blog. I hope you are having a good day. I just love all the great stamptangle stamps we have at Just For Fun stamps. There are so many ways to use them and they have such a unique look. You can take a peek at them here. I decided to use the small Stamptangle Fancy Fish on this card. I found a new technique and thought the fish would go perfectly with it.

I used patterned paper and several pieces of different colors of card stock. I cut circles using Spellbinders Small Circles dies from each piece, each circle getting smaller. I layered all the card stock and patterned paper on top of each other to make a porthole. The fish was stamped, colored with markers, fussy cut and pop dotted to the card. I added green rhinestones to the fish and porthole for embellishment. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet. I stamped just part of the saying since it did not fit on the tag. Clear Stickles was added across the card for waves.

You still have a few days to join in the Just For Fun Hot Hot Hot challenge. You might even win a gift certificate to the store.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Winter Wonderland

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am glad you stopped by today. I want to show you a card I made using the Snowy Park stamp from Penny Black. We had a winter wonderland a couple of weeks ago and then we had spring weather. I know winter will come back. Our weather here in the south is so unpredictable!

I cut out the image using Spellbinders small oval die and sponged a little blue and purple Distress inks for the sky. Olaf White glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle was used on the snowflake punch and trees and ground of the image. The image was layered on decorative Spellbinders dies and then layered on patterned paper. Blue rhinestones added the finishing touch.

Thanks again for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

House Mouse Christmas

Hi and welcome to my blog! I hope you are enjoying this busy season! I want to show you a Christmas card I made using this cute little House Mouse stamp. I had fun making this card because I got to use some new products!

I actually used 2 stamps for my image. I started off with this new to me stamp and paper pieced the cup with  the green plaid paper.

I also used this stamp, colored the hat, fussy cut the hat and added it to the mouse in the cup.

Next I fussy cut the whole image and adhered it to my red plaid background. I just received this new paper in a magazine and I love the plaid! I also got to use my new greenery die from Gina Marie and added it below the new window die also from Gina Marie. I splattered diluted Gesso over the greenery to look like snow.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Hi Everyone! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well, it has for quite awhile in the stores! Do you have your Christmas decorations up yet? Mine are going up soon! I want to show you a Christmas card I made using the Just For Fun Stamptangle Christmas Tree and Gift Cube stamps.

I like making non traditional colored Christmas cards at times. I started with blue card stock and flicked white Gesso over the card with a paint brush. I wanted to use acrylic paint, but I did not have any white. I like the texture that the Gesso gave. The tree was stamped with Versa Mark ink onto a marbled background I had in my stash. White embossing powder was added and heat set. I did the same for the gifts and stamped on purple card stock. All the images were fussy cut and adhered to the background. I then added some white rhinestones and a bow.

Please join in the new challenge over at the Just For Fun blog! We would love to see your creations and you might even win a prize!

This month we are making it easy since we have 2 themes to choose from - Christmas and all it entails or Winter.  The choice is yours!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the Christmas season!

Altered Dies #23

Hi Everyone! I can't believe the Christmas season is upon us! This year just flew by. I want to show you another altered die card I made into a Christmas card. I am showing this a day early because my Just For Fun card is going up tomorrow. This cardinal by Inkadinkado is one of my all favorite Christmas stamps. The image was cut using the Gina Marie stitched circle die.

I started with the Tim Holtz Woodlands dies by Sizzix.

I cut 10 trees and then cut the bottoms off of each one.

I then arranged these bottom pieces in a circle to form the wreath!

I had all these little "trees" left so I decided to make another Christmas card with them while I had everything out on my desk.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope this has inspired you to create some wreaths of your own. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - Septmeber

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a tag I made for Tim Holtz's challenge this month. We were to start with a patina background. I used two metallic colors of acrylic paint - gold and purple, and some regular pink. I also spritzed water on them that had some White Glimmer Mist in it to give the whole piece some shine.

We were to use the alcohol resist technique here, and I used the trees stamp from Inkadinkado. I also had fun playing with the alcohol inks a bit at the top and bottom of the tag. I must say I really like using the alcohol inks on Yupo paper!

Here is the whole tag!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a great day!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had fun making this card using a Just For Fun stamp. Don't you just love this image? I stamped her on a Color Burst background and used an embossing folder for a frame. The butterfly was cut from an inked background using the Butterfly Quickutz die.

Have a Very Mice Day!

Happy April Fool's Day! I hope you won't get fooled too much today. I want to share a card I made using acetate. I always love to see cards made with acetate but I have not made many myself. I enjoyed very much making this card! Here is the card when it is closed.

I embossed the acetate using a Sizzix frame embossing folder. I stamped the mouse image onto white card stock and cut him out using the Gina Marie stitched circle die. The mouse was colored using Spectrum Noir markers. I added Sparkle translucent embossing powder ( courtesy of Sparkle N Sprinkle ) on the pink flower. The lace corners are from Cheery Lynn and the butterflies are from Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die.

Here is the card slightly opened so that you can see the acetate front better.

This is the inside of the card. I used light teal card stock and placed a sea grass stencil from Tattered Angels over it and sprayed Dragonfly Glimmer Mist over it. The saying I had was long, but I needed to fit it on the circle, so I inked the saying half way and stamped it on top and then inked the stamped on the other half of the saying and stamped it underneath.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a very MICE day! LOL!

You Are My Sunshine

Hi and welcome to my blog. Last week we had some beautiful sunny days. I am wishing they are still here since it has turned cold and rainy again! I made this card as a reminder of those sunny days!

I used my cuttlebug rays embossing folder for the background. I sponged on Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Ripe Persimmon Distress inks. I also added Sparkle N Sprinkle Lemonade glitter to some of the dotted areas in the rays. You can see the sparkle better here.

I used the Cheery Lynn Lattice Valance Border die and cut off the ends of the die to make the swirls. I also pop dotted some of the grapes at the bottom of the mouse.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
