Frosty the Snowman

Hi Everyone! It just turned Fall, but I am showing a winter card today for the Joan's Garden challenge. The challenge is to use blue and white, a snowman, a tree and a corner embellishment. I am looking forward to some more cooler weather since we are warming up again this week! Maybe this card will help usher in some cooler weather, but hopefully not snow too soon! Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Technique Tuesday -- Bleeding Tissues

Hi and welcome once again to Technique Tuesday at Sparkle N Sprinkle. This technique is great for a Fall background. I hope you enjoy trying it!

Supplies needed:
  1. several colors of tissue paper -- only a few will bleed. I used a brand called Bleeding Art Tissue
  2. white glossy cardstock
  3. water spritzer
Take the tissue and tear small pieces of each color.

Spritz the glossy card stock with water and randomly layer on the pieces if tissue making sure you cover the whole card.

Spritz over the top of the tissue pieces and let them air dry. Peal pieces off the card and you will  have a neat background.

I stamped the Swirl Oak tree onto my background with permanent ink and cut it out using a scallop die. I also made another card using the negative.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed the technique and that you will try this on some Fall cards! Have a wonderful day!

Nature Inspired

Hello! I hope you had a good weekend. It was such a beautiful one here. I am entering this card into the Nature Inspired challenge at Impression Obsession. I have so many of their beautiful nature stamps that it was hard to choose which one to use! I decided to go with a Fall look since Fall is finally here! For the background I used the Cover a Card Textural Dots CC016 and Cover a Card Birds in Trees CC102. My focal image is Tweet Summertime F1648. I used glitter on the sunflower and yellow flower soft on the mums in the pots. Even though the birdhouse stamp is really a summer stamp, I turned it into a Fall one! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Happy Fall Ya'll

Happy Fall Ya'll! Fall ushered it's way in yesterday and it was beautiful here! I am loving this cooler weather even though we have still been in the eighties here in the South, it is less humid and cooler in the mornings and evenings. I love the Fall and all of it's wonderful colors, so I made a card to celebrate! I used Basic Grey Green At Heart/Grasshopper paper and the Pumpkin Flourish stamp from Impression Obsession. I also had fun using my new Stamping Gear to make the frame around the image. As you can see I am looking forward to Thanksgiving. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Challenges entered:
1. Basic Grey -- Harvest Time
2. PaperPlay -- Choose a Holiday
3. Stampin' Sisters in Christ -- Harvest/Autumn

Ghosts and Goblins Fall Frolic Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Ghosts and Goblins Fall Frolic Blog Hop! Come join the fun, leave comments on each designer's blog and have a chance to win some wonderful prizes! If you have come by way of Julie's great blog you are in the right place. If not you might want to start at the beginning on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to be eligible for those wonderful prizes! I had so much fun making these cards for the hop. I made a window or tunnel card for my first card. I got to use a fun haunted house die that one of my good friends gave me awhile back. The cute witches are some of our new digital stamps by the artist Michelle Perke. I used Candy the Sweet Halloween Witch digi022 and Fly Away Witch digi123. I used Autumn Medley glitter G1013 on the house windows and decorative edges of the card.

On my second card I just HAD to use the fun Glow in the Dark embossing powder EP392. Just put the card in the light for a bit and then go in a dark place and boy does it glow! Such a fun product to use for kids and big kids alike! The stamps I used are the Dancing Skeleton 1370-285G and Spider 0299-113A.

Thank you for stopping by. Remember to comment on each designer's blog to be eligible for fun prizes! Now hop on over to see Shanna's wonderful work.

Technique Tuesday -- Finding Your Marbles

Hello and welcome once again to Technique Tuesday at Sparkle N Sprinkle! I hope you are enjoying your day. I am certainly glad that it has been cooler lately and a hint of  Fall is in the air! I have heard about this technique that I am showing today,  but this is the first time that I have tried it.  I was doing this technique when a non stamper friend of mine was here visiting and she must have thought I had really lost my marbles! You will need to FIND your marbles to play with this one!

Supplies:

  1. several marbles -- I used 3
  2. several colors of reinkers -- I used olive, butterscotch and cranberry
  3. a plastic box with lid
  4. white or cream cardstock
  5. removable tape
Place removable tape to the back of the card stock and adhere to the lid of the box.

Now place the marbles in the bottom of the plastic box.

Add a few drops of the reinker colors.

Tilt the box back and forth and from side to side to get the marbles inked.

Put the lid on the box making sure it is secure and turn the box upside down.  Roll the marbles around on the cardstock that you adhered to the lid.

If you want to add more ink, just open the lid and add a few more drops and move the box around as before.  Now you have a neat background.

When I went to make my card,  I decided I didn't like so much white showing on the background,  so I stippled a gold color over it to tone it down a bit.  I then used a die cut to cut out a shape.

Now find your marbles and have some fun! LOL! Thank you for stopping by. I trust you will a fun time with this technique!

Seaside Dream

Hi Everyone! I hope you have been enjoying your weekend. Yesterday I went to the Stamp Scrap Art Tour convention here in our area! It was fun shopping, seeing fellow stampers and getting together with friends! Least to say I have some new "toys" to play with. I am entering this side step card in Joan's Garden's challenge this week. I have not made a side step card or many beach themed cards recently, so this was fun! I used the digital stamp -- Princess Oceana -- from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate you taking the time to take a peek! Have a great week!

Window Card

Hello! I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you the project we did at my local stamp club on Monday! We made a cute window card. It was fun seeing what everyone did. I got two new cats the beginning of this year and I have enjoyed their antics, so I just had to use these cats from Sparkle N Sprinkle to go in my window. My cats love looking out the window for hours! Thank you for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Technique Tuesday -- Scratch N Sniff

Hi and welcome back to Sparkle N Sprinkle Technique Tuesday! I took a week off because of the holiday. I hope you had a great one! I have not done this technique in ages, but it is a fun one for kids and big kids alike! I love interactive cards don't you? Well, hop on over to the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog to see how you can make a neat scented card.

First I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink because I then colored with alcohol inks.

Next I mixed Black Cherry Kool Aide with Winter Berry embossing powder.  I bought invisible Kool Aide (clear) in a watermelon/kiwi flavor because I wanted to color my images and emboss in clear. Sometimes the Kool Aide color is too dark . So I mixed the invisible Kool Aide and clear embossing powder together. Make sure to use SUGAR FREE Kool Aide so that when you heat the mix it doesn't have the burnt sugar smell. I mixed half Kool Aide and half embossing powder.

Use an embossing pen to color the areas you want embossed.  I embossed the cherry using the Winter Berry mix and the cupcakes using the clear mix.

Finish coloring and assemble card! Tell the recipient to scratch the cupcakes for a sweet aroma.

P. S.     I have also heard that you can add chocolate pudding to embossing powder for a chocolate aroma! Have fun!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
