Altered Dies #14

Hi and welcome to my blog! I usually show my altered die cards on the first and third Thursdays of each month, but due to being a guest designer this month for Word Art Wednesday I am showing this altered card today. I know many of you hit the beaches or the lake in the summertime. I have made it to the beach once this summer. It certainly feels good to be near water in the middle of the hot summer, so I have made an underwater altered die card today. The background was made by using the salt technique.

I altered a die to make the "coral."  I started with the Blooming Branch die by Memory Box and cut it out using blue glitter card stock and purple card stock.

I layered these on top of each other and added Clementine embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I used Mudd Puddles Sea Glass and Shell Pieces on the bottom of the card. Glisten embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle was also used with them to look like sand. The mermaid is also a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp.

It was fun making this underwater scene. I hope you enjoyed how I altered the die to look like coral. Have a wonderful and blessed day and keep cool!

Wedding Card

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog! Today am showing a wedding card I made. I have not made a wedding card in awhile and it is never to late to have a few on hand. I have had so much fun using my new Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set. I got the inspiration for my card from this photo at Altenew's July challenge.

I stamped and masked all the flowers on three pieces of white card stock. I then added various dies and svg dies to the step card. Dies are one of my favorite embellishments. They add so much to a card. Here is a list of the dies I used.

Just Rite Garden Circle
Spellbinders Raindrops on Roses
Spellbinders Flourish Trim
Spellbinders Fancy Tags
Flourish Heart and Heart Butterfly -- svgs

Here is a side view of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

When I Consider The Heavens

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am so happy to be a guest designer this month at Word Art Wednesday! I have so enjoyed making my cards. What a wonderful scripture for this challenge. After looking at the vast universe that God has made, what is mankind that He would care for us? Aren't we glad that God is also a personal God and that he loves us?

Awhile back I saw a photo of a lone tree against a purple and orange sunset. It was so striking, so I decided to replicate it on this card. I thought it would showcase this verse very well.

First I printed the verse on cream card stock. I blended Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves Distress inks to make the sunset. I then finished it off with Black Soot Distress ink. I used a white pigment ink pen to make the stars. The die is the Spellbinders Flourish Trim die that I cut from cream card stock.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

One Layer

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog. It is always a challenge for me to make a one layer card since I love adding many layers to my cards. The Penny Black challenge this month is to make a one layer card and I must say I am quite pleased with the results. I used a frame from Just For Fun stamps and stamped the images from Penny Black's Critter Party stamp set inside the frames. The images were colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I also added enamel dots which I have fallen in love with recently. They add such a fun touch to cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Christmas In July

Merry Christmas in July! Right now I could use some cold! We have been in the upper 90's for weeks. I have been making a few Christmas cards each month so that I will have all of mine hopefully finished by Christmas. On this card I used Color Bursts for my background, stamped the Just For Fun trees stamp and embossed them with white sparkle embossing powder. The deer is a cuttlebug die that I cut from brown card stock and embossed with Sparkle embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Maybe seeing this card will help you cool down a bit and inspire you to make a few Christmas cards as well. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Cherish Each Day

Hello and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a tag I made with a fun technique using Micro Glaze. Micro Glaze is a waxy cream that you rub over images to resist color. It is so easy to use.

On my tag you can see where I used the Micro Glaze -- over the saying and clock. I wanted these to be the focal point of my tag. I then used Distress inks and painted them on my tag using my water brush. The Micro Glaze on the clock and saying resisted the watercolor.  I stamped the bird and also used water over it to give a watercolor look.

I used a feather Spellbinders die and cut using kraft card stock. I splattered some watercolors over the piece and layered it on the tag so that the colors could show through. I added the metal word and butterflies from Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Altered Dies #13

Hi Everyone and welcome to my blog! I was so happy when I learned I had been chosen as a guest designer for Word Art Wednesday for the month of July. What a wonderful privilege!

I have always loved this beautiful verse about peace that is being showcased here this week. There are quite a few verses in God's Word that tell about peace. When Jesus was born the angels said "peace on earth goodwill toward men." Later it is written that God gives peace that passes all understanding, even when we live in a stormy world! AND that is a peace He gives deep in our souls and only He can give it!

I decided to use a beautiful peacock stamp from Inkadinkado. I must have peacocks on the brain because I saw some beautiful ones when I went to Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC while visiting my son a few weeks ago. This one was really showing off for us and I was happy to get his picture!

I have been making the altered die cards on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. This is a day early but I altered some leaf dies from Sue Wilson and used them as feathers on the peacock! His body was glittered using Sparkle N Sprinkle Olaf White glitter. The frame for the card is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die layered on a Labels 8 die cut from blue card stock. The Lace Corner is a Cheery Lynn die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!
