Oldies technique #9 -- Kissing

Welcome to my blog! It is time for another Oldies technique. I have had so much fun revisiting these techniques. This technique is called "kissing" because you "kiss" one stamp to another. I love the beautiful designs that you can get with this. I am entering this card in the Party Time Tuesdays challenge and Penny's Paper Crafty challenge.

Here are the supplies you will need:

large solid stamp and 2-3 smaller solid stamps

3-4 colors of pigment inks ( I used gold, brown and blue )

white or cream card stock

Turn the large stamp rubber side up. Stamp the lighter color all over the stamp.

Using pigment ink helps you buy time as you ink up the other stamps since it stays juicy longer. Take a smaller solid stamp and ink it up. Then stamp it on the large inked stamp. I stamped my smaller stamp partially on the pear and turned it around and stamped it again somewhere else on the pear so as to use up all the ink on the small stamp. You can also give a tiny twist to the small stamp as you stamp on the large one. This gives a little more interest to the piece.

Now take the other solid stamp and do the same thing using a different color. 

This is the final look of the pear.

Now it is time to stamp the pear onto the card stock. This is how it looks! Cool huh!

Vintage Tag

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a vintage tag I made. I love the vintage look and I had this stamped photo image from a swap that is perfect to use for this theme.

I colored the girl's dress using a pink Sharpie marker since the image was stamped on glossy card stock. I pounced some Tea Dye Distress ink over the image for it to look old and sponged the edges of the shape with black Staz On ink. The shape was cut using Spellbinders Labels 20 die.

On the side I used white matte stencil paste and a butterfly stencil. While the paste was wet I added blue glitter embossing powder and heat set it. This dried the paste at the same time.

Sending You a Smile

Hi Everyone! Hello and welcome to my blog. I want to share a card I made using stencil paste and embossing powder. I laid a leaf stencil on white card stock and used white stencil paste on it. After I lifted off the stencil and while the paste was wet, I added Moss Star embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I then heat set the embossing powder with my heat tool and this also helped the paste to dry. Here is a close up of the leaves.

The hummingbird and flower is from the Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set Hummingbirds and Flowers. The saying is from the SNS stamp set, Spring Floral. The frame for the saying was made using a Spellbinders Labels 20 die. I used a Martha Stewart corner and border punch to make the pink frame.

Oldies Technique #8 -- Watercolor Stamping

Hi Everyone and welcome back to another Oldies technique. I really love this one and it is so easy and beautiful. I love watercolor and how the colors blend.  I will show my card first and then we will get to the technique.

I stamped the butterfly on the watercolor paper and then I stamped another one on  another piece, cut it out and popped it on top of the first one.

Here are the supplies you will need:

solid stamp rubber stamp  ( rubber seems to work better than acrylic )

water based markers ( I used Tombows )

water spritzer

water color paper ( you can use other card stock, but watercolor paper seems to work better )

Take the stamp and turn the rubber side up and start coloring your stamp, much like you would do if  you were coloring the stamped image. You do not need to be real exact.

Now spritz the stamp with water. I used about 3 short sprays.

Now stamp the stamp on watercolor paper and look at the beautiful blend!

You might see some areas that are not blended well. You can take your water brush and go over the area lightly to finish blending it.

Bubbles

Hi Everyone! I have had so much fun blowing bubbles! I have been like a kid. I saw this technique on face book and I just had to try it for some backgrounds for cards.

Supplies needed:

small plastic or paper cups

Dawn liquid detergent

food coloring or reinkers ( I used 4 colors of reinkers )

straws

white glossy and/or matte card stock

craft mat for the mess

paper towel for the mess

Put about 2 drops of Dawn in the cups. Gently pour 1/3 of the cup with water. Add about 12 drops of reinkers to each cup.

Stir the colors with the straws and blow gently into the straw to form lots of bubbles. Make sure you do not suck in on the straw! LOL! OR  don't do this - I was not looking and started to blow from the end that had been in the soapy water!

Take the card stock and tap it over the bubbles. Do not squish it down on top of the cup. I did this several times with each color I wanted to use on the card. I liked how it turned out better on the glossy card stock. With the matte, the water soaks in and does not leave as a clear of a design as the glossy. But they both look good depending on how you want to use it. I used a piece of glossy on my card above.
