Just For Fun January Challenge

Hi and Happy New Year! Wow, this last year went by really fast! I wish you all the best in 2019. I want to show you a card that I made for the Just For Fun stamp challenge. The theme is to use blue and silver.

I stamped the Just For Fun Tree Line stamp and added silver embossing powder. I used small circle hand punches for the "snow" and layered this piece on silver glitter card stock. Then I layered this onto a dark blue background.

In this picture you can see the glitter card stock better.

I hope you will join in our challenge. I would love to see what you create. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Have a wonderful day and Happy New Year!

Shabby Chic #24

Hi Everyone! This is my last shabby chic card for this series! Boy has this year flown by! I hope you are enjoying the Christmas season. It seems like each year Christmas comes earlier and earlier. Well, here is my card. The stamp is one I bought a long time ago at a stamp convention and I don't know the company since the stamp is just rubber.

I colored the image using alcohol markers and then I cut it out using the Gina Marie stitched oval die. I colored in the "stitches" using a brown marker. The image was layered on an Ellentina die and a Spellbinder die. These were layered on white card stock and then added to the red card base. The greenery was cut from an Impression Obsession die. I then added a paper poinsettia and some cord.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a Blessed Christmas!

We Three Kings

Hello and Merry Christmas! I hope your Christmas is full of love, joy and peace.

The stamp I used on this card is the 3 Wise Men on Camels by Just For Fun Stamps. I stamped it using green ink and cut it out using a Spellbinders oval die. This was adhered to the fancy Ellentina die. The white background was embossed using a distressed stripe embossing folder. The edges were sponged using brown ink and then layered on a green card base. A Tim Holtz punch was used for the greenery and a paper poinsettia was added at the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed Christmas!

Shabby Chic #23

Hi Everyone! Christmas is approaching fast! I want to show you a shabby chic shaker card that I made. I have been making more shaker cards lately and love them. They are so much fun!

I made the card shape using the Precious Marieke flowers frame background and sponged brown ink around the edges. The white flower frame goes with it. I then cut a pink frame using a frame die from Nellie Sellen. Lastly, I cut a white circle using the Gina Marie stitched circle die. The snowman stamp is from Inkadinkado. The image was colored using alcohol inks. The saying is from Just For Fun Stamps. Flowers, ribbon and pearls were used for accents. I used plastic snowflakes and clear sugar beads inside the shaker.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope that you are enjoying the Christmas season. Have a wonderful day!

Tis The Season

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a fun card I made using this cute snowman from Just For Fun Stamps. Doesn't he look jolly?

I made the background by cutting a strip of fun foam, adhering it to an acrylic block and stamping it in various angles using oxide inks. I used a dotted swiss embossing folder at the top and bottom of the card to add interest. I colored the snowman using alcohol markers, fussy cut him and added him to the card. The saying is from a Die Versions die. I also added 3 sticker snowflakes and hot pink rhinestones.

This month the challenge is to make any holiday card. I hope you will join us and you might win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a jolly day!

Warming Up!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope that you are enjoying the Christmas season. It has been unusually cold here in the South for this time of year. I made a card with this cute little mousie warming IN a cup of cocoa! LOL! I have been enjoying my cups of cocoa lately.

I used the Gina Marie dotted die for the background and cut it using metallic blue card stock. I stamped the image, colored it with alcohol markers and fussy cut it. I used the stem of a flower die for the "steam" in the cup. The white bottom portion of the card was run through a snowflake die. The greenery is a Gina Marie die cut from green card stock. I splattered white acrylic paint over the greenery and cup for snow. I made "marshmallows" using 4 pop dots and adding white sparkle flocking to them. You can see one marshmallow in the cup and 3 on the greenery.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and warm day!

Just For Fun December Challenge

Hi Everyone! I can't believe this is the first day of December and that Christmas is right around the corner! I want to show you a Christmas card I made using Just For Fun stamps. On this card I used the Leaping Dear and Merry Christmas stamps.

I started with a background that I made using a gelli plate and a stencil. I stamped the deer onto the background and colored it using a bronze metallic colored pencil. I also stamped Merry Christmas under the deer and added thin red and gold metallic washi tapes across the card. Enamel dots were used for Rudolph's nose and for embellishment.

The challenge this month is to make a card for any holiday. I hope you will join in. I would love to see your creations and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Shabby Chic #22

Hi and welcome to my blog! Even though the Christmas season is fast approaching I am showing one more Fall card. I made this shabby chic card using Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps and made a Fall wreath. I cut the wreath out using the Gina Marie Stitched Circle die, sponged the edges with brown ink and filled in the "stitching" using a brown marker.

I colored the bird, by Dina Wakely, using alcohol markers. I stamped a script stamp on the gold card stock background, ran kraft card stock through a weave embossing folder and swiped a dark brown ink pad over the raised areas. Silk leaves and a bow were added for embellishment. The edges of the background and "Hello" were also sponged with brown ink.

I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful day!

Christmas Is Near!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! I want to show you a card I made with a brand new Christmas tree stamp from Just For Fun Stamps called Skinny Tree.

I stamped the tree six times on different patterned papers, leaving the trunk on the middle one. I fussy cut them and adhered them to the card. The "snow" at the bottom of the card was made by using a swirl punch. I added silver star stickers on the top of each tree.

There is still time to join in this month's challenge, using red, orange and brown colors. We hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

A Fall Day

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am glad you stopped by today! I want to show you a Fall card I made using the Penny Black Snowy Park stamp. I made this stamp look like a Fall day instead of a snowy day!

I used two backgrounds that I made where I had put alcohol inks on one piece of glossy card stock and then placed the glossy side of another piece on top and pulled them apart. It made sort of an ink blot print. I stamped the trees on one of the backgrounds, cut it out and adhered it to black card stock. I then adhered the image to the other background. All of that was layered on another piece of black card stock and then adhered to the gold card base. I added a wooden leaf, cord and sequins for embellishment.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! I used a brand new turkey stamp from Just For Fun Stamps called Wild Turkey. We have had a flock of turkeys around our neighborhood for the past few months. It has been fun seeing them!

I colored the turkey using colored pencils, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the background. The background was made by using a weave embossing folder and then swiping the raised areas with brown ink. I cut the leaves using the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die, cut from an inked background. I stamped the saying on the Spellbinders Fancy Tag die and sponged brown ink on the edges. The background was layered on red and brown card stock.

I hope that you will join in this month's challenge -- the theme is to use red, orange and brown on your project. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Just For Fun November Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. At Just For Fun Stamps the challenge this month is a color challenge -- use brown, orange and red on your project. Here is the happy birthday card I made.

It seems that I have a lot of Fall birthday cards to send and I love using the Fall colors. On this card I used brown Coordinations cardstock that has the kraft color underneath. I used a leaf embossing folder and sanded the card stock so that the kraft color showed through. I cut the Spellbinders Wreath die from kraft card stock and added the Just For Fun leaves to it. I stamped and embossed them, colored with orange and red Zig markers and then fussy cut them. I also added a bow and rust colored rhinestones for interest. The Happy Birthday cut from orange card stock is an unbranded die.

I hope that you will join in the new challenge this month. We would love to see what you make using these Fall colors. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

I have used two brand new Just For Fun stamps that will be up on the web site soon! I colored the image using alcohol markers, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card. The background is some fun Halloween paper I had in my stash. I also stamped the bat twig stamp beside the image. I made black goop on the patterned paper by using a Martha Stewart punch!

Hi! I am showing another shabby chic card today. I found this leaf in my stash where I had used a die to emboss it on the card stock. I then colored the raised areas with silver paint. Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress inks were smooshed onto the card stock for the background. A light spray of gold Shimmer Mist was sprayed over the piece.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the silver edges on the card. Die cut leaves, Prima flowers, cord, lace and silver ribbon were added for embellishment.

Blessed

Hi and welcome to my blog. Each month I have been trying to make several Christmas cards so that I won't be crunched when the Christmas season comes. I want to show you a Christmas card I made using a beautiful Penny Black stamp called Xmas Light. I have had this stamp for many years and I still love using it.

I stamped on kraft paper and colored with colored pencils. Colored pencils work so well on the kraft paper. After I colored I distressed the edges of the paper and crumbled it a bit. I added greenery by using a punch and the "berries" are polymer dots. I found the word, blessed, on a sheet of kraft colored stickers and added it to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a blessed day!

Shabby Chic #19

Welcome back to shabby chic day! I have made a shabby chic Fall card using one of Dina Wakely's birds. I colored the bird using alcohol markers, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card.

I used two of the Spellbinders small circle dies for the frame. Behind the frame I stamped the Hero Arts Italian Poetry background. The Memeory Box Fresh Foliage die was used for the leaves over the circle frame. I cut apart the Flowers Frame from Precious Marieke to add to the right corner. The edges of the patterned paper were distressed and brown ink was sponged on the edges. I am entring this card into the CropStop challenge with the theme "Anything Goes." Just For Fun Challenge

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. The challenge at Just For Fun Stamps this month is Halloween. We have some fun brand new stamps that will be up on the site soon. On this card I used Dracula and colored him with alcohol markers, fussy cut the image and pop dotted it to the card. This is Dracula saying  "have a spooktacula Halloween" !

The background was so much fun to make. I used Marabu Easy Marble paints. You drop the paints on top of water and dip your card stock in it. I love how the marbling turns out.

The saying was computer generated and layered on red card stock. I added google eyes to add more fun!

Hello Everyone! I am back with another shabby chic card. Fall is approaching or is already here for a lot of you, but for us in the South we still have a few more weeks of summer! I am so looking forward to Fall. So this card is a Fall themed card!

I used papers that I had in my stash. I cut the bottom leaves from an inked background using an unbranded leaf die. The maple leaf was also in my stash where I had used gold crackle paint on it. The maple leaf is a cutlebug die. The owl is a Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamp and the saying is from Just Rite stamps.

I used an embossing folder that had a band across it, perfect to stamp the saying on. The "grass" was made by using a striped embossing folder and then cutting it to look like the ground. I stamped the golfer using black ink, fussy cut it and pop dotted it to the card. Little die cut clouds were added to the top.

I hope that you will join the "back to school" challenge that we have going on this month. You might even win a gift cerficate to the store!

The background was made by patting Distress inks onto a stencil, spritzing it with water and laying it on watercolor paper. I colored in the leaves and trunk of the tree using Distress inks and a watercolor pen. I found some fun cat eyes in my stash and added them to the cat.

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am here waiting to see what hurricane Florence is going to bring us! So far it is cloudy and windy.

I want to show you a card I made with an Impression Obsession stamp called Cover-a-Card Pine Trees . I thought this would make a good winter card since the sky looks like the aurora borealis ( which I would love to see in person some day )!

I made the sky using Color Burst powders and adding in some Color Burst liquid metallics too. Little clear rhinestones were also added to the sky.

I colored the image using alcohol markers. The image was cut out using the Gina Marie Stitched Circle die. This was framed with the Spellbinders Beaded Circle die. I added white enamel dots to it. I have been playing with all the pretty foils lately and added magenta foil to strips of double sided tape. The saying came from the Penny Black Critter Party stamp set.

Shabby Chic #17

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing another shabby chic card I made using a watercolored background that I made using a stencil. I patted Distress ink pads right onto the stencil, spritzed the stencil with water, laid the stencil down on watercolor paper and pressed firmly with my hand. I also sponged on some green colors through the stencil. The result was a lovley watercolor look with the imprint of the stencil!

I added an unbranded die birdcage to the background cutting it from glossy gold card stock. I stamped the cute bird by Magenta to the side of the cage and added the birthday saying by Our Daily Bread stamps. The frame is by Ellentina and the decorative edges were cut from the top and bottom of the Botanical Frame die by Memory Box!

Lighthouse

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a card I made with one of the new lighthouse stamps that will be available soon at Just For Fun Stamps. This one reminds me of the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. We took a trip there last summer. In 1999 the lighthouse had to be moved to safer ground, 2,900 feet inland. The move was a success! Can you imagine having the job to move such a heavy and tall structure? ( 200 feet tall and 5,000 tons! )

I thought this would make a good male birthday card. I found a background in my stash where I had used the shaving cream technique.
I stamped the lighthouse directly on the background and colored with alcohol markers. I stamped the Tiny Flying Birds at the top. I used white embossing powder and glitter on the clouds.

I hope you will join in this month's "back to school" challenge. We would love to see what you make! You could also win a gift certificate to the store.

Just For Fun September Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to share the card I made for the Just For Fun Challenge. The theme for this month is back to school. School has been in session here for about two weeks. It seems that the summer went by in a blink!

I taught first and second grades many moons ago and making this card brought back a lot of memories. I had a lot of fun playing learning games with my classes.

I used several Just For Fun stamps on this card -- Apple SketchComp Book and Script Frame.

I stamped and colored the apple using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, fussy cut it and pop dotted it over the comp book. I used ruler washi tape across the script frame background and added black polymer sticker numbers to the bottom.

I hope you will join our new challenge for this month. We would love to see your wonderful creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Alcohol Ink Lift

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have been experimenting with the alcohol ink lift technique and I love the look! On this card I used Yupo paper and did the polished stone technique first using alcohol inks. I made my own "lift" ink to lift off the alcohol inks already applied. I found an old Versa Mark ink pad and spritzed it with 91% alcohol and it worked great! I took the butterfly stamp (stamp unknown) and tapped it a few times onto the ink pad and then stamped it on my alcohol background. The ink lifted off the alcohol ink colors and left the butterfly impression. I also used a stencil at the bottom of the piece and sponged the ink over it. This also lifted off the colors to leave the stencil impression.

I added a blue velvet ribbon across the card. I used the Fancy Frame Tag die from Spellbinders, cut it in half and adhered the pieces on either side of the card. Silk flowers and punched leaves were also added. I used a Stampin' Up splatter stamp on the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Shabby Chic #16

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I am sharing another shabby chic card I made today. I found this saying in my stash from Rubber Necker that had been cut out using the Spellbinders labels 20 die. I just love what it says.

I used some brown Distress ink to ink up the edges of the saying. I placed a page from an old book behind the saying, roughed up the edges and curled some edges and adhered all of this to the bround patterned paper background. I used the Memory Box Blooming Branch die cut from gold card stock and added little paper flowers to it and the butterfly. The butterfly was also in my stash cut from the Tim Holtz Butterfly Duo die that also has an embossing folder to use with it. Cord, pink silk ribbon and a yellow paper flower were added for embellishment.

Summer Sizzle

Hi Everyone! I want to show you a card I made using a Just For Fun stamp. I know everyone has been sweltering from the heat. I have made a card to go along with that. The theme for the Just For Fun challenge this month is stripes, so I made this card using stripes from the sun beams.

To make the background I "stamped" using an embossing folder. I swiped yellow and orange colored ink pads over the raised part of the embossing folder, spritzed lightly with water, placed my card stock over the inked part, closed the embossing folder and pressed it firmly with my hand. Over the background I stamped the Wind Swept Palms Silhouette stamp. Sequins were added on the top half of the card.

You still have a few days to join in the challenge. We would love to see your project using stripes.

Hi and welcome to my blog. I was in Charleston, SC this past weekend and boy was it hot there! I would have loved to be like this little mouse just chillin' in the water.

I colored the image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I found the scrap of swirled paper in my stash that was perfect for the water. I added die cut clouds and some are pop dotted for dimension. I added a butterfly charm to the cord and colored it with yellow and green Sharpie markers.

Shabby Chic #15

Hi! I am back again with another shabby chic card. I found the background in my stash and had an idea to use beach cabanas with it, but I did not have a stamp of beach cabanas. I was in a wonderful stamp store in Georgia called Impressive Ideas along with three of my good stamping friends. I asked them to be on the lookout for any beach cabanas and low and behold they saw one! This stamp by Pink Ink was perfect for my card!

The background was made by folding cream card stock like an accordion, swiping ink pads over the edges, then spritzing with water. When you open up the card stock, crinkle it a bit and you have a fun, distressed background! The image was stamped and colored using Distress inks and a water brush. I stamped grass by the cabanas and watercolored around them. The edges of the image were distressed using Tim Holtz's distress tool. I then sponged the edges with brown ink. I cut the tall grass using a Spellbinders die that was cut from brown suede paper. The saying is from Just For Fun Stamps.

Fishing Is The Life For Me

Hello and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a card that I used with a brand new Just For Fun stamp! This card is so fitting for my husband. We purchased a new boat this year and he has really enjoyed fishing off shore. We have eaten so many good fresh fish including mahi mahi, grouper, trigger fish, red and black snapper and wahoo!

I pulled out this fun background from my stash where I had dotted some white and blue acrylic paint onto purple card stock, then placed another piece of card stock over the paint and peeled the two pieces apart. The result were these wavy lines that reminded me of the ocean. I made a slit along the waves at the bottom using an exacto knife and placed the boat image down in the slit. The boat was colored using Tumbled Glass Distress ink and a water brush. I stamped the fun new saying at the top of the card.

This card also goes along with this month's challenge theme -- stripes. We would love for you to join the challenge! You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Here's The Scoop

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying your day! Who doesn't like ice cream on a very hot summer day? I know I do. I have loved ice cream since I was a little girl. I remember listening for the ice cream truck and running to get a popsicle. I always got the double ice popsicles because you got more for your money. LOL!

I used the Strawberry Cone stamp from Just For Fun on this card. Homemade strawberry ice cream is sooooo good! Yum! I colored the cone with Spectrum Noir alcohol marker and colored with a clear Wink of Stella pen over the ice cream for some sparkle. The saying was stamped and cut out using the Spellbinders Fancy Tags die. I ran the pink card stock through a dotted swiss embossing folder and used strawberry patterned paper at the bottom.

Don't forget to join in this month's challenge! The theme is stripes. We would love to see what you create! You might even win a gift certificate to the store.

A Little Bird Told Me

Hi and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a Twist Turn card I made. You can see the tutorial here.

Here is the inside of the card.

I used a new stamp set that I received from Connie, an online stamping friend of mine who I would love to meet in person one day! The set is from Illustrated Faith. The saying on the inside of the card is from Inkadinkado. I fussy cut the cute birds and popdotted them to the diamond front. I added a charm music note above them. The flower was made by using punches and it was placed on top of some white cord.

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I am showing you a card that I made with one of my favorite Just For Fun stamps! Isn't this sweet little girl cute?

The theme for the challenge is stripes. On the purple background I stamped the 2 sided background round frame on it first and then ran it through a striped embossing folder. I stamped the Dream Girl on white card stock, colored her with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and cut her out with the Gina Marie Stitched Oval die. I paper pieced her dress using striped patterned paper. I added die cut flowers and a bow. The saying is from the Sentments 1 unmounted sheet.

Now it is time for you to join the challenge! We would love to see what you create. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Pretty Poppy

Hi, I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a card I made with this pretty poppy stamp from Just For Fun called Gathering Pollen. I tried growing some poppy anemones this Spring, but they did not do well. I think poppies are so pretty with their bright red color.

For this card I used a Marianne embossing folder, that also cut out some areas, to make a frame for the poppy. I adhered it to black card stock and then to the white card base. The poppy and bee were colored using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

You still have a few days to join the challenge. The challenge is to use red, white and blue colors. We hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Shabby Chic #14

Hi and welcome to my blog! Today I am showing another shabby chic card using bits and pieces from my stash.

I found the lamp stamp in a bag of images that came from a swap that I was in a few years ago! The stamp is unknown. I colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and placed it in the frame that was cut using the Memory Box Botanical Frame die. I placed the frame on top of a torn page that came from an old book. The edges were sponged using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I used a large round punch for the Sparkle N Sprinkle saying. Buttons, ribbon and lace were added for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
