Out With the New, In With the Old #2

 Hi and welcome to my blog! I have started a new series on my blog where I am using my very old wooden stamps. They are on display in my craft room, but I hardly ever use them. I decided I was going to use them this year! This is such a pretty stamp and I need to use it more often.

I found a background where I had used various colors of chalk. I inked up the stamp with clear ink and stamped it on the colored background. Next I sprinkled black embossing powder over it and heat set it. I love how the colors pop!

Out With the New, In With the Old #1

Happy New Year! I am starting a new series on my blog as I have been doing for quite a few years now. This helps me get out of a rut when cardmaking. I am calling this series "Out With the New and In With the Old!" This year I want to use my very old wooden stamps that I have displayed in my craft room that I never use much.  

When I moved recently, I got rid of many of my wooden stamps and kept the ones I really liked. I can't wait to get them off the shelf and stamp with them this year. Sooo, here is my first card!

I love birds and this one is so cute! I made a whimsical frame by stamping 2 smaller stamps randomly around the edges of the card.

I used a new to me technique on my card today. I placed a stencil over the cardstock and patted a clear ink pad over a couple of areas. I then applied Powdered Pearls and Pearl Ex over the stencil with a brush. The powdered pigments adhered to the clear ink. I like how the  background is shimmery!

Male Birthday Card

Happy New Year! I pray that 2026 will be a great year for you. Our New Year started off yesterday with hubby having shoulder surgery! The surgery went well and we are praying for a quick and full recovery. 

I was in need of some male birthday cards, so last week I created a few. On this card I water colored a background using a cheap set of children's watercolors. After it was dry I used a couple of stamps to randomly stamp over the background. I also used watercolors on the stamps before stamping. The car stamped image was fussy cut and popped up on the card. The saying is a sticker tab.
