SNS Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day and having a good start to your weekend. Here is the card I made for the Sparkle N Sprinkle sketch challenge. The challenge this month is an inspiration challenge with various colors of blue.

Here is my take on the picture. I used a Sparkle N Sprinkle digi stamp Snowman Fence digi 317  by  Beccy Muir. The saying is from the Just for You set 444. I used Sparkling Snow glitter G1003 on the snow at the top. This is really a Christmas stamp because it says Jolly on the fence posts. I just wanted this to be a winter card, so I covered the saying with snowflakes. You can click here to see the instructions on how to make this card. I hope you will join us in this challenge. You're a Star

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. We are having a wild storm right now! I hope things settle down soon. I am entering this card in a couple of challenges -- the Simon Says Seeing Stars challenge and the Cuttlebug Spot A Star is Born challenge. I actually did do some stamping on this card -- feathers -- but most of them got covered up! I used the Yellow Gold Glitter Tinsel from Sparkle n Sprinkle on the star in the middle. The stars are a Provo Craft die. I enjoyed making this card for the challenges.Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day.

Technique Tuesday -- Painting with an Acrylic Block

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Technique Tuesday at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a quick and easy background that you can make for your cards.  On this card I have used my  background a little differently.

Supplies :

1. white or cream card stock
2. several colors of water based markers
3. small acrylic block
4. water spritzer

Brush your marker onto the acrylic block and spritz the block with water.

Now sit the block with the wet side down on your card stock and let it sit a second or two and then swipe it across the card stock.

Keep doing this with different colors until you have filled the whole card stock piece with color.  It won't look like much, but when used as a background, it looks neat. This technique gives a little more distinct coloring than just using a water brush to brush on the color.

Here are some other backgrounds I made this way.

I demoed this technique at my stamp club meeting and one of the ladies combined several colors on her block at a time and the background turned out great! So you might want to experiment with that also.

As you can see, I cut a shape out of my background and stamped all the sayings from the Fancy Butterflies set 437onto the shape with Memento Rich Cocoa ink 99613. I stamped a butterfly from the Brocade Backgrounds 398set and used an exato knife to cut the top wings so that they pop up. I punched flowers out of the rest of the background and used Champagne glitter G1045 on the edges of the petals.

Squarely Delicious!

Hi Everyone! I hope you have enjoyed your weekend. It is gradually warming up here and I am looking forward to Spring weather later this week! Here is a card I am entering in several challenges. At Magnolia-licious the challenge is a picture inspiration. What a pretty winter wonderland! I enjoyed doing this challenge because I have not used my Magnolia stamps in awhile.

Pink and White

Hi Everyone! I hope your weekend has started off better than mine. We are having freezing rain and sleet and it is very cold. Tomorrow will be much warmer so the ice shouldn't last long. I am doing a lot of stamping and keeping warm! Here is a card that I am entering in the Joan's Gardens challenge -- Pink and White. We are also to have at least one heart and a pretty border. New Beginnings

Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I want to share with you a card I made for several challenges. I always enjoy using my House Mouse stamps. Isn't this little fella cute? He looks like a happy camper! At House Mouse and Friends and Basic Grey the challenge is New Beginnings. What better way to begin a new year by starting to eat healthy. This little mouse looks like he has eaten a healthy portion of grapes. I love grapes too! At Simon Says Stamp and Show the challenge is Something You are Known For. In crafting I am known for using a lot of embellishments and you can see I have used them again on this card! No card seems complete to me without them. Behind the mouse I used a die to cut from Basic Grey paper Euphoria/Trance. The TIP I am sharing for Top Tip Tuesday is this -- To show light hitting an object, add glitter like I did on the grapes. Sparkle N Sprinkle Technique Tuesday -- Make Your Own Patterned Paper

Hi Everyone! It is Technique Tuesday time here at Sparkle N Sprinkle! I want to show you today how you can make your own customized patterned paper. There are so many combinations that you can come up with. For simplicity sake, the examples are shown with colored ink. But this technique is really awesome with pigment inks or VersaMark ink and a variety of embossing powder colors (many which contain glitter for a rich look!). So take my samples as being very simple, and put your own spin on them by using the EPs in your stash.

Supplies needed:

1. background and/or individual stamps -- I used Brocade Background 3125-398R, Ladybugs 3108-392A and the butterfly from Dani's Umbrella set 392.
2. cream or white card stock
3. inks of your choice -- I used dark yellow, olive and rust

I started with my background stamp and stamped it with the yellow ink.

Then I randomly stamped the butterfly over this using rust ink.

Lastly I stamped the ladybugs randomly over this using olive ink.

Now I have my own patterned paper!  Here is another one that I made using different stamps. I used Swirls & Dots 3118-393AA, Peony 1  3475-429G and Leafy Floral background 1830-329R.
