Just For Fun August Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I am showing you a card that I made with one of my favorite Just For Fun stamps! Isn't this sweet little girl cute?

The theme for the challenge is stripes. On the purple background I stamped the 2 sided background round frame on it first and then ran it through a striped embossing folder. I stamped the Dream Girl on white card stock, colored her with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and cut her out with the Gina Marie Stitched Oval die. I paper pieced her dress using striped patterned paper. I added die cut flowers and a bow. The saying is from the Sentments 1 unmounted sheet.

Now it is time for you to join the challenge! We would love to see what you create. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Pretty Poppy

Hi, I hope you are having a good day. I want to show you a card I made with this pretty poppy stamp from Just For Fun called Gathering Pollen. I tried growing some poppy anemones this Spring, but they did not do well. I think poppies are so pretty with their bright red color.

For this card I used a Marianne embossing folder, that also cut out some areas, to make a frame for the poppy. I adhered it to black card stock and then to the white card base. The poppy and bee were colored using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

You still have a few days to join the challenge. The challenge is to use red, white and blue colors. We hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Shabby Chic #14

Hi and welcome to my blog! Today I am showing another shabby chic card using bits and pieces from my stash.

I found the lamp stamp in a bag of images that came from a swap that I was in a few years ago! The stamp is unknown. I colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and placed it in the frame that was cut using the Memory Box Botanical Frame die. I placed the frame on top of a torn page that came from an old book. The edges were sponged using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I used a large round punch for the Sparkle N Sprinkle saying. Buttons, ribbon and lace were added for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Butterfly Kisses

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. I was playing with string art recently and on this card the string art came out looking like a Gladiolus flower, so I used the Colorblock Butterfly from Just For Fun and added it to the card. I stamped it using watercolor markers and then fussy cut it. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet. I stamped it on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag die.

We have a fun challenge going on and this month and the theme is to use red, white and blue colors on your project. I hope you will join in and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Shabby Chic #13

Hello! I hope you are enjoying your day. I am back with another shabby chic card. For some reason I had a hard time getting this one together. I found the Spellbinders background die (Bow Elegance) in one of my bags that had already been cut out. I adhered it to white glitter card stock. I stamped the flower (by Recollections) onto another Spellbinders die, colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, and pop dotted it to the center of the card. I added the Memory Box Fresh Foliage and Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly dies for embellishments. Ribbon and pearls were also added.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. I hope you have a blessed day!

Just For Fun July Challenge

Hi and welcome to my blog. Are you looking forward to the Fourth? We always love watching the fireworks in our town. How about you? The challenge at Just For Fun this month is to use the colors red, white and blue. Your card does not have to be a July 4th card but I made a July 4th card to show you that you do not have to necessarily use patriotic symbols. On my card I used the Just For Fun Birthday Cupcake stamp and some fun dies.

I started with a striped embossed blue background. I used the cascading stars from Spellbinders, by cutting a few from that die and adding them to the top of the card. I inlaid red stars into two of the white stars. The letters USA are dies from Momenta. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the cupcake and pop dotted it to the card. Star sequins were also added. I made the banner by hand and used the saying from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will join our challenge. We would love to see what you create with these colors!

Happy July 4th!

Shabby Chic #12

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am sharing another shabby chic card today. Quite a few years ago I bought some shaped card stock to make some different shaped cards with. It has been a long time since I have brought those card stocks out to play with, so I decided to use one for this card. I cut the card stock in half and folded it in half, now I have two pretty scalloped edges.

I stamped the butterfly ( by Anita ), colored it with watercolor crayons, fussy cut it and adhered it to the card. I added ribbon, handmade flowers ( from the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die ) and a leaf die ( Memory Box ) to the side of the saying ( Sparkle N Sprinkle ). I used the Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 die for my saying.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
