Thinking of You

 Hi and welcome to my blog. I love this flower from Penny Black that I recently purchased. I found the background in my stash where I had smooshed several colors of inks onto some plastic wrap and then crinkled it up on some watercolor paper. I like the textured look this tecunique gives. I stamped the stamp directly onto the background and added a little color to the leaf and flower by using Distress inks and a water brush.

Hello! Welcome to my blog. Here is another frame that I made using some Martha Stewart deep cut punches. I used both the corner punch and border punch. I love how this turned out! I made this into a get well card. You never know when you might need one in these winter months.

I am using another new stamp today. What a sweet gift this mousey is bringing her friend. This rose reminds me of the Peace roses my dad used to grow. He had two rose beds and the Peace rose was my favorite. He had a knack for growning them. They were always large and beautiful. 

I used the bouncing brayer technique to make the sunbeams on the corner of my card. I used glossy card stock because the technique looks better to me on the glossy. I don't think I ever colored with alcohol markers on glossy card stock before. I liked how the coloring turned out.

Butterfly Birthday Card

Hi and welcome to my blog. I love playing with all kinds of stamping techniques and I used a few of them on my card today. 

The background was made by thinly applying glue here and there on the white card stock. When the glue dried I sponged various colors of Distress inks over the whole card stock and the glue acted as a resist. I then stamped a script stamp on the background on the right side. I stamped and heat embossed the butterfly using purple embossing powder. I also added a little copper embossing powder too. At the bottom I stamped a swirl stamp and used copper and a chunky bits embossing powder and heat set it.

Gilded Emboss

Hi and welcome to my blog. I love trying out new techniques and discovered this one recently. 

First I sponged on 2 colors of Oxide inks and then flicked water across the background with a water brush. Next I took a 3D embossing folder and inked up the raised areas with Versa Mark ink. I placed the inked card stock face down onto the raised part of the embossing folder and ran it through my machine. I then added gold embossing powder where it stuck to the inked area and heat set the powder. This gave a pretty gilded look! The butterfly was stamped on some shimmery inked card stock and fussy cut.
