Pink Butterflies

Hi and welcome to my blog! Today I am showing a card I made using butterflies I made from vellum. I wanted my butterflies to look delicate, so I made them from vellum by stamping my butterfly stamp onto vellum using Versa mark ink. I then added white embossing powder and heat set it. Next I turned them over and colored with pink markers on the back and fussy cut them. I like using the vellum because you can bend the wings in different ways to make them dimensional.

I also used some punches that I have not used in awhile. I used Martha Stewart corner and border punches to make the eyelet lace frames.

I also stamped a script stamp behind the butterflies and added white embossing powder. You can see it better here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Oldies Technique # 11 -- Emossing and Coloring on Vellum

Hi Everyone! It is time for another Oldies technique. With June being a big wedding month I thought I would use one of my favorite Oldies technique -- using vellum on a wedding card. Vellum makes cards look so lovely I think.

Supplies needed:

vellum ( I used a heavy vellum and cut out a shape from it )
open stamp to color
bright markers
Versa Mark or white pigment ink
white embossing powder
embossing buddy
heat tool

Swipe the embossing buddy over the vellum so that the embossing powder will not stick to areas you do not want it!

Ink up the stamp with Versa Mark or white pigment ink, sprinkle on white embossing powder and heat set it.

Turn the vellum piece over and color the image using your markers.

Here is how it looks when you turn it back over to the front.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day!  Hugs!
